OK version, but dubious "authenticity"--even making allowances for the speculation always involved in reconstructions of old music. For instance, although drawn from the MS neumes, the melody itself was in fact largely composed by Thomas Binkley for the first recorded version of the "original Carmina Burana" back in the 1960's. The instrumentation here is also dubious. My favorite interpretation by far remains that first one sung by Andrea von Ramm. Orff's totally a-historic version, a blast!
Tempus est iocundum, o virgines, modo congaudete vos iuvenes. Oh - oh, totus floreo, iam amore virginali totus ardeo, novus, novus amor est, quo pereo. Mea me comfortat promissio, mea me deportat negatio. Tempore brumali vir patiens, animo vernali lasciviens. Mea mecum ludit virginitas, mea me detrudit simplicitas. Veni, domicella, cum gaudio; veni, veni, pulchra, iam pereo.
An exquisite combination of eerily beautiful music from a far off time sung in Latin, and fascinating pictures rendered by artists of the time, transports us back magically to an era that we yearn to be in, even if just for a short while.
Thanks for this video and the beautiful images. We'll never know what it was really like to live back then. As much as I like reading about this era and listening to the music, I'm very glad to be a 21st century American woman.
vagy csak általában a Medieval miniatures keresőszavakra, és lesz ott mindenféle kép. A teljes magyar Képes Krónika is elérhető pdf formátumban a neten.
Well i do appreciate such kind of music. Medieval stuff is certainly wonderful, so thanks for the song, and, of course great illuminations. I like the way they depicted unicorn ;)

Just wish I had a time machine as it would be fascinating to see what the world was really like in the middle ages.

O! o! totus floreo!
Iam amore virginali totus ardeo,
novus, novus amor est, quo pereo!
O! Fiorisco tutto!
Già ardo per amore di una ragazza!
Un nuovo, nuovo amore è la ragione per cui mi consumo.

It is the time of joy, O maidens, now enjoy yourselves together, O young men.
Oh, oh, I am all aflower, now with my first love I am all afire, a new love it is of which I am dying.
In the time of winter a man is sluggish, when spring is in his heart he is wanton.
My innocence plays with me, my shyness pushes me back.
Come, my mistress, with your joy ; come, come, fair girl, already I die.
I am elated when I say yes; I am depressed when I say no.
