i've got a question, won't the radius of the fingerboard be altered when you level the inlays? i don't know, coz i'm quite interested with this. my guitar has dot inlays which i want a luthier to change to bird inlays.. but i don't know if he has to remove the fret wires or not..
thats a good question, you need to be very carefull if you are going to do any modifications on a fretboard, there is a chance that the radius will get modified thats why it needs to be done buy a qualified luthier and no i dont think that removing the frets is necesary,. Have a good day.
yep hit those frets with the file... it will be fine, don't worry .... don't mind the dents...
