I'm impressed that Rich at the age of 50+ still manage to compete with such strength and qualify at the top 10 in US.
I don't have his stats but he seem to be a huge guy. Something around 6.2" 315lbs at the age of 50+! How big was he during the late 80s when he was working out? I'd guess around 330lbs?
Anyhow great interview and thank you for posting clips of Lupkes! Hope to see more of him here on Youtube!
@Jocef I remember reading in a very old back issue of the ArmBender that Rich weighed in at 295 at 6' 3" at the 1989 Nationals and he was built like a bodybuilder.
I used your other uploaded video of Rich as a reference when I said he was 6'2 315lbs here. It seem strange that he has lost weight if he was at 295lbs in 1989. The guy looked unreal in the video "RICHARD LUPKES MATCHES 1" video here on YT. But maybe he lost some quality mass and gained some fat (which also seem unrealistic since he looked huge on the interview in your uploaded clip).
@pr4nk5tr Richard won the first but lost the other five, but from what I heard, really tested Devon. He also went 6-0 over Tim Bresnan. Right now, it's probably a toss up between Richard and Jerry as top US puller.
@gman22guns No, Devon beat Richard 6-0. The first match Rich hit Devon very hard near the pinline. Devon slipped and it went straps. After that Devon was in complete control.
@gman22guns Winning against Timmy 6-0 must have been truly amazing for rich. especially considering the fact that Tim has been a badass lately on the armwrestling table and rich tore his bicep against timmy in 2008. Tim has got such a massive backpressure toproll.
Surprising to see this huge powerhouse be so humble and well spoken..im a huge lupkes fan now

@InTheHookJohn John, can you describe to us briefly on how each match went between dev and rich? (like hook, toproll, length of match. straps...etc)

@pr4nk5tr
I heard Devon won 6-0
First match Devon tried to take his wrist, couldn't, slipped, hooked Rich in strap and won, then won the next 5 inside, making it 6-0
