Trespassing on private property is a punishable offense in all 50 states. Secutrity = people hired by the company to safe guard the property .
They can not fine or detain you in any way , they are not cop's and have no real athaurity over anything . You can tell them to get lost if they ask for your ID and walk or run away once your off the property they can't chase you anyway . The only real way any security could keep you there is IF you stole something !

@Herbymac0811 Actually depending on what state you are in the laws are different. Licensed security officers can detain you under certain circumstances, but like I said, it depends on your state. Trespassing on private property is a punishable offense in all 50 states. Everything from your City Hall to your local 7-Eleven parking lot is owned by someone, and more than likely is private property. Get your facts straight.

if they really want to enforce the law they need to make the signs blatant. Like its universal that stealing and killing is bad. But skateboarding? They need to inform the kids of the laws, and those who don't know it should just get off with a warning. A long while ago people would get off of murder charges because their rights weren't told to them, so why would these kids get fined because they dun know their rights?

Hmm... The cops have pulled me over for skateboarding down the road and told me that there was a fine, but they would let me get away this time. Skateboarding is only technically allowed at designated areas (skateparks), or at least in my town. I've been forced out of my own backyard halfpipe for disturbing the neighbours, and it was taken down. the only place you are truly safe are parks

matt, they only fine or arrest you when you are skating in prohibited areas and/or damaging property. cops didn't start a war. the laws on private property have been around for longer than skateboarding.
how many skaters are there compared to baseball and football players? did you know you can't play baseball in most parks?
