  • LOVE THIS SONG!!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG! I'm always playing the first 30 seconds by ear ;)

  • Excuse my lack of information. Who named it "Hunter Song"? Was it Mendelssonhn directly or was it somebody else? Just curious.

  • @otirudam

The titles of Mendelssohns Songs Without Words mostly are given by the editors/publishers of his works. This is also the case concerning this piece.

  • well played. I just finished learning this.

  • @eradication888

    Thanks for your kind comment.

  • The most beautiful "hunters song" ever written, in my opinion.

  • @aaabbbccc5

I agree. Thank you for your comment.

  • beautiful music, a genius Mendelssohn and a great pianist, congratulations

  • @beethomozart

    Thank you for your appreciation.

  • Fantastic. I love your performance

  • Thank you, I´m glad you like it.

  • Yeah, i play that, too. Great Performance!

    5*

  • Thanks for your kind comment!

  • very well played. nice work

  • Thank you for your kind comment!

  • Wow, that was very well played, probably one of the best peformances of this song that I've heard. Thanks for uploading this =)

    5/5 +fav

  • Thank you for your encouraging words!

  • Favorite song of Mendelssohn, also one of my favorites to play.

and 1:21 best part of the song in my opinion!

I always try to exaggerate that part and play like fffff and slow it down, but you did played it very well. good job.

  • Thank you for your kind comment: I personally am not a friend of exaggerations, but that´s a matter of taste, of course. I´m glad you like it.

  • I have no criticism for the overall execution of the piece, but I must say I really loved the ending part, very clear and detached notes. I would suggest though, to my taste, that you'd add some pedal or that you'd do some more legato for the rest of the piece and be weary of the constant tempo changing

    anyway great job

  • Thank you for listening and your suggestions. I´m glad you like it. The use of more pedal and legato is a matter of taste, of course, but it´s always interesting to experiment with it and to change something here and there. I don´t think, that there are too big tempo changings.

But once more, thank you, it´s a valuable feedback for me.

  • I enjoyed this very much.

Might I suggest a little more caution with dynamic level contrast? It only adds more intensity. Most of the song has big hits with fortissimo so make sure you incorporate that into your technique.

    Good job.

  • Thank you for kind comment and critical advice. I don´t think, that I do too little dynamic contrasts, only at one place I do play a p of a ff, but this I do with intention, just to bring an interesting moment of an unexpected surprise. Of course, I do understand, if not all listeners appreciate this.

  • I remember hearing this somewhere so i decided i would try to learn but your playing of this was majestic compared to the one i heard Lol

I'm currently trying to replicate it but it's looking doubtful =P

    Well done, i loved it 10/10 =D !

  • Thank you for your for your kind comment. I wish you to have much success with this piece. It´s really so lovely and so full of temperament!

  • Very nicely played. It's no doubt the best performance I've seen on youtube. Have only seen two, but it was still amazingly well played ; )

  • I´m glad you like it, even if I only have one other "competitor" here;)

  • This is once again excellent played! WOW!

Are you a teacher, a professional or something???

  • Thank you for your kind and encouraging comment. Yes, I´m music teacher at high-school, so I´m not a professional pianist, but I use the piano very much also at school and I have studied it at university.

  • I loved learning this song. Played it senior year for a few recitals, really gets the crowd excited compared to the more generic songs people usually pick.

  • i would like to ask whether you use abrsm's published or the one with yellow cover

  • I use the "Henle Urtext Edition" (they have always a blue cover).

  • yes get it

  • I´m sorry you feel it to be so. But it´s you´re good right to have your opinion. Thank you for your comment.

  • theres no soul and passion

  • i'm learning this piece right now and it's wonderful

  • i'm learning this piece right now and this recording scares me.

    thanks alot...

I have a fair way to go with the speed

  • Thank you for your comment. Please, don´t feel scared by my speed. It´s possible to play it also a bit slower, I think;)

  • very difficult in my opinion good job ;)

  • Thank you for your comment.

  • Im learning this piece at the moment, and I must say is does take great control,a marvellous piece indeed!
