I see posts left here saying jackie is or was underated. I dont know what would be considered a proper rating to these folks ,but I can speak as someone who was around in the 60s, and a music fan. jackie was very highly regaurded by everyone I know. the beatles even in 1964 considered her one of the best song writers around. groups looked to record songs she wrote.she was regular on the shindig show.as the decade went on she had huge hits. so I'm not certin what these people think she missed.

moorlock2003 I agree 100% Madonna's a joke compared to this lady our very own Helen Shapiro would also make Madonna and co look very ordinary as would Dusty or Pet Clark or Australia's finest Judy Durham,if you don't know Helen have a listen and at the hight of her powers she was just 14
Wow . Never heard this before . Love that big old wig . A woman playing the guitar - you didn't see very much of that back in the day . Southern women have got so much soul . Jackie had it by the truckload .
First saw her as a callow 13 year old on TV singing Don't Turn Your Back On Me. Every time she sang the title hook line she would spin and pout over her left shoulder to deliver the line.
This song is a great piece of 1965 vintage folk rock, written by Jackie and recorded in London. It appeared on the B side of "What the World Needs Now." I never knew she'd sung it on TV back then.

She's way too overlooked. Way ahead of her time too. If she's been born ten years later she'd have been bigger.

I nearly went thru the screen.
Was left gasping on the floor
Fabulous, wonderful under rated talent

Madonna sucks eggs compared to Jackie DeShannon. This song alone proves it.

Good grief! Don't even mention Madonna's name in the same sentence as Jackie DeShannon.

OK, put a period after "sucks" and leave it at that.
