Yeah I called up GS and they said they could get one in for me from out of state. I had a recording session last week and I really wanted to use the envelope pedal for this one track we did but I actually found something pretty similar sounding on an old Digitec pedal that sounded decent compared to what Flea had going on here. Nothing like the DOD, though. And with such an iconic bass player playing it; what a sound.

an envelope filter. it's a wah filter triggered by the strength of the input signal. if you play loud the filter opens a lot. if you play soft, it doesn't open as much.

FX25 100%. Yes Ive played them and own a few, as well as various Qtrons and etc. The FX25 needs to be *played* more than just about any other filter out there. If you have ham hands, it will sound like shit and suck out all your bass all the time.

It can't be the FX25. have you ever played on one of those? I couldn't get it to sound right with my bass. It really only worked with the high notes, and did nothing for the bottom end. I remember reading somewhere that it was meant for the guitar, so that's probably why.

yeah, I agree, I had a Q tron, that was my favorite, but i have played through a DOD FX25 before, it was more challenging, you really have to know how to work the dynamics of your playing to make it sound good,  I think thats what Genisin was having issues with
