@whygodrums10 u think it's smart to judge women based on a few girls? every country say they have the most beautiful girls but truth is they're as beautiful everywhere, it's only because of the celebs some people judge some countries girls better than others.
ML " it was doubly frightning because first of all there were 2500 people in the room, and before we got in the room he ( I tihnk Tarrentino) said, I can't wait to see my film in your eyes. I was sitting next to him and he was like this the whole time *turns head* He was waiting for my reactions.
I " And what does the film tell, A short resume ?"
ML " Now I asked myself, what will be the classiest for this big reception and then I said smoking...I was going to do smoking black and then at the last moment I said to myself, everyone is going to be in smoking black, so we changed the colour. But I found that, I don't know, an actress in a Tarentino, you have to have something I little bit masculin. But still with a strong personality"
I " and to see the film for the first time, in a room with a thousand people at the same time.."
I "We'll see when you were at Cannes where the film was presented for the very first time you were dancing on the red carpet... very much at ease"
ML " I've never seen this"
I " you saw the film for the first time at the same as everyone else"
Woman next to her " And it's bizarre you weren't wearing a dress, I liked that "
ML" Why... to be French.. in Yves Saint Laurent.. I said I didn't want to have a big dress, I've done the princess before many times, Cinderella for 3 days, but now
"There were 3 meeting in total.. and in between them I did 4 hours of English a day in a school in France... didn't change what I wanted but anyways, I understood a little better.
I "And when you got the role... he told you in a nice way.."
ML " yes... I was in the room and he said...I really hope you'll tell me yes... Do you want to be Shoshanna? I said hmmm just a second i'm thinking about it.. oh alright I'll do it.. (laughs)
ML " well he only wanted to meet actresses that were bilingual...I said too bad...
I (laughing) and what did you do
ML " (english) you know, you know.. (french).. it was a catastrophe...I don't know how I did it i said..oh I'm a little stressed ...actually I understood you had to said I'm stressed out.. he talked a lot and I understood nothing, but at the same time he was making gestures so I understood a little bit about what he wanted to say". And in between the two interviews...there were 3
we went wednesday. Saturday I wouldn't have met him. At 14 I never wanted to be an actress, at 14 I wanted to be a singer... and I when I saw you sing it really made me want to. you hear these stories of meeting agents... i think there's a huge amount of luck in this job"
I " and work... you just finished this tarentino film that's coming to us on the 21st When you met him for the first time you didn't speak English?
"he couldn't have seen if you had talent or not, and so he could only ask if people would be taken by your beauty.. and I don't mean to say you have no talent"
ML " I'm leaving... (laughs) There's lost of ways where we can make it or not make it... Theres the appearance for certain roles, obviously there is talent but I believe most of all it's luck. I went to the plateau that day, and the next day there was a car accident. My friend said to me... We'll go either wednesday or saturday
3) never be scared of ridicule... Did you follow all 3? "
ML "not being afraid of ridicule is the hardest... sometimes you have to have a hige amount of self confidence to take certain parts... but in the end he was right. When we are no longer scared of ridicule we're free to do lots of things"
Then the woman next to her said, "I've been thinking about your story and what he saw were your eyes"
he asked me if I wanted to be in film.. and I said yes"
woman next to her " and he saw you from far away?"
ML " I never understood how he spotted me from far away, but in any case... I remember there was a big forest behind us and he was coming up to us in the Obelix costume, which was pretty impressive. And the closer he came to us, the more I asked myself "Really? what's he going to do in the Forest?" I had no idea why he was advancing towards us.
ML " yes, I accompanied by best friend at the time to the shooting of Asterix and Obelix. We got there at 5 in the morning, and I said I would never be an actress.. I would never do that job because you get up way to early "laughs". We stood by the side because we didn't want to disturb anyone; we weren't participating in the shooting we were just watching. And then I say Obelix...or Depardieu in the Obelix costume. He came towards me and said Hi, Hi"
I " we really appreciate your being here because the day of promoting must be very long. Only a few days ago you were in Los Angeles
ML "yesterday"
I "yesterday... and tomorrow you'll be..."
ML " in new york"
I "so we really appreciate it. Just tell again the story of how you were discovered at a young age for those who don't know you.... I don't know if its boring to repeat this story again...you'll probably have a 50 year long career and we'll ask you again. Anyways, you were 14 years old
Interviewer: She was discovered by Gerard Depardieu on the set of "l'asterix" when she was only 14. Now she's 26 with 22 films under her belt including the new Tarrentino film that will be released to use next week. The french actress everyone is talking about; Melanie Laurent.
I; "thanks very much for being here". Then she asks the woman sitting next to her what she was going to say, and she said she's really cute and she looks like a little angel.
at the end she mentions how she was signing autographs at the premiere and feeling very good about herself when Angie and Brad showed up and the guy she was signing for grabbed the pen from her and ran towards Angie.
she is extraordinarily expressive not to mention gorgeous, just watching her face and her smile is captivating. she also seems like she has a great sense of humour and is a lot of fun. she is talking about how she was discoered by gerard deparieu on the set of his movie about a very popular childrens book Asterix.
@Dessy909 Your question surprises me because french people are often said to be cold (maybe because they live in the northern hemisphere ?? lol), especially Parisians (I live in Paris). Even the French say that !
Indeed, it is common for a celebrity to kiss each other guests when entering the set of a French TV show, even if it is the first time they meet. At least for the vast majority...
@Dessy909: When it's for the work, we check hands. Men always check other men's hands except if they feel it (father, best friend,...). It also depends on where you live in France. Women always kiss (except for work). It can be 1, 2, 3 or 4 kisses.
We don't hug. That's too much for us. Kissing is too much for English people and hugging is too much for French people.
this is the funny part cause she was promoting for inglorious , and then whe walk out and a man asked for an autograph, so he lends her his pen, and then all of a sudden she hears likesome big screaming "yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii", it was brandgelina passing by, then the man just grabbed the pen from her hand and rushed to brad pitte , she puts it in a funny way, she has great sense of humour

@whygodrums10 u think it's smart to judge women based on a few girls? every country say they have the most beautiful girls but truth is they're as beautiful everywhere, it's only because of the celebs some people judge some countries girls better than others.

i " and you hadn't seen it before"
ML "we'd seen nothing before"
I "and how was that recieved"
ML " it was doubly frightning because first of all there were 2500 people in the room, and before we got in the room he ( I tihnk Tarrentino) said, I can't wait to see my film in your eyes. I was sitting next to him and he was like this the whole time *turns head* He was waiting for my reactions.
I " And what does the film tell, A short resume ?"
ML " we made it clear and Tarrentino made it

ML " Now I asked myself, what will be the classiest for this big reception and then I said smoking...I was going to do smoking black and then at the last moment I said to myself, everyone is going to be in smoking black, so we changed the colour. But I found that, I don't know, an actress in a Tarentino, you have to have something I little bit masculin. But still with a strong personality"
I " and to see the film for the first time, in a room with a thousand people at the same time.."
RachaelAnn77 1 year ago

(laughs)
I " you look really at ease throughout this."
RachaelAnn77 1 year ago
ML " well he only wanted to meet actresses that were bilingual...I said too bad...
I (laughing) and what did you do
ML " (english) you know, you know.. (french).. it was a catastrophe...I don't know how I did it i said..oh I'm a little stressed ...actually I understood you had to said I'm stressed out.. he talked a lot and I understood nothing, but at the same time he was making gestures so I understood a little bit about what he wanted to say". And in between the two interviews...there were 3
RachaelAnn77 1 year ago
we went wednesday.
ML " no... very badly"
I " and you lied?"
RachaelAnn77 1 year ago
"he couldn't have seen if you had talent or not, and so he could only ask if people would be taken by your beauty.. and I don't mean to say you have no talent"
ML " I'm leaving... (laughs) There's lost of ways where we can make it or not make it... Theres the appearance for certain roles, obviously there is talent but I believe most of all it's luck. I went to the plateau that day, and the next day there was a car accident. My friend said to me... We'll go either wednesday or saturday
RachaelAnn77 1 year ago
I He gave you three warnings
"1) not go to Theatre school"
2) don;t take scripts in advance
3) never be scared of ridicule... Did you follow all 3? "
ML "not being afraid of ridicule is the hardest... sometimes you have to have a hige amount of self confidence to take certain parts... but in the end he was right. When we are no longer scared of ridicule we're free to do lots of things"
Then the woman next to her said, "I've been thinking about your story and what he saw were your eyes"
RachaelAnn77 1 year ago
he asked me if I wanted to be in film.. and I said yes"
woman next to her " and he saw you from far away?"
I "and you had three conditions"
RachaelAnn77 1 year ago
ML " yes, I accompanied by best friend at the time to the shooting of Asterix and Obelix. We got there at 5 in the morning, and I said I would never be an actress.. I would never do that job because you get up way to early "laughs". We stood by the side because we didn't want to disturb anyone; we weren't participating in the shooting we were just watching. And then I say Obelix...or Depardieu in the Obelix costume. He came towards me and said Hi, Hi"
RachaelAnn77 1 year ago
I " we really appreciate your being here because the day of promoting must be very long. Only a few days ago you were in Los Angeles
ML "yesterday"
I "yesterday... and tomorrow you'll be..."
ML " in new york"
I "so we really appreciate it. Just tell again the story of how you were discovered at a young age for those who don't know you.... I don't know if its boring to repeat this story again...you'll probably have a 50 year long career and we'll ask you again. Anyways, you were 14 years old
RachaelAnn77 1 year ago
@RachaelAnn77 Assez! j'ai peux comprendre!
nuffzed2001 1 year ago
I'll try and translate as best I can.
RachaelAnn77 1 year ago

she is extraordinarily expressive not to mention gorgeous, just watching her face and her smile is captivating. she also seems like she has a great sense of humour and is a lot of fun. she is talking about how she was discoered by gerard deparieu on the set of his movie about a very popular childrens book Asterix.

French people kiss everyone??? I would not like being kissed - unless its /Melanie Laurent of course - she's beautiful!
Dessy909 1 year ago
@Dessy909 Your question surprises me because french people are often said to be cold (maybe because they live in the northern hemisphere ?? lol), especially Parisians (I live in Paris). Even the French say that !
Indeed, it is common for a celebrity to kiss each other guests when entering the set of a French TV show, even if it is the first time they meet. At least for the vast majority...
shabyshoo 1 year ago
Biloutemag 1 year ago
@Dessy909: When it's for the work, we check hands. Men always check other men's hands except if they feel it (father, best friend,...). It also depends on where you live in France. Women always kiss (except for work). It can be 1, 2, 3 or 4 kisses.
We don't hug. That's too much for us. Kissing is too much for English people and hugging is too much for French people.

Rigald33 1 year ago
