  • i don't think yatga is huge like this. i know it is just a size of koto or kayageum.

  • forgive me... but it kinda sounds like American Yankee's singing Country Songs... :D

  • No offense. first of all, I don't think you know Amercian, neither do Mongolian. Do you know the name of the instrument they are playing with? I can tell you for sure only Mongolian can play them well, Chinggishan is now on his way home.

  • She didn't mean that in a mean way and yes I do agree with her but I think the term she really meant is Yodeling and the instrument sound like the Banjo.

  • It could sound a bit Native American, but not yodeling or banjo, which come from northern europe. Some bluegrass music, found in the eastern mountains of US, actually comes from Irish music a bit too.

I think a lot of 'native' people's music has a lot in common actually, no matter where in the world it's from. :) Art too. It's a small world, and we're more similar than we often realize.

  • @kw07kw I think yodeling is universal. Anywhere they have to call across long distances they have something like yodeling.

In Mongolia I think it's called shuranhai, as used in the long song form. I'd like to learn that.

  • So... Mongolian speakers are visiting my videos? Can anyone help me find the words to this song? I'd like to sing along!

    :D

  • It's not hard to figure out what they're singing...
