  • that's some fat cholesterol leech xD

  • i like the music

  • That was a leech i thoult those small things were o.o

  • Nice video and beautiful garter snake, we have a lot of those roaming in my apartment but I haven't managed to catch one yet even though i've seen them plenty of times but at around like 0:38 - 0:40 why was the snake breathing so hard like that? i remember when I was in a pet store and a baby red-tail boa was sitting like right in front of it's enclosure but as I got close it started breathing heavely but why do reptiles do that?

  • looks like a weird clock

  • yuckk hahaha this wat im looking for the battle of leech...nxt time try tiger leech vs mouse=) sucking time

  • im thinking about getting a garter snake.......any specific details for their habitats would be great

  • @realamericanMarines

I recommend them. They are great snakes. I had a python but actually like these better because of their versatile diet and high energy too. They are relatively easy to care for but unlike most snakes they seem to do better in groups or in pairs. I have two in a 10 g at this time. They are young. As they get older I will get them a larger tank. They like small hiding places. Small logs with holes etc. Always have a pool of water for them.

  • @Ricine Thanks i will keep that in mind ...... if they do better in pairs and groups uhhh does it matter if ones male and others female?

  • @realamericanMarines

That I don't. I have a male and female together. They are siblings. They squabble over food but nothing serious.

  • @Ricine ok thank you

  • incredible how the leech is able to extend its body length 4, 5 times its original size!

  • @EhtYlno Yeah that is incredible. I have been learning more about leeches and I am impressed with these odd flat worms. They are doting parents apparently.

  • leeches are annelids not flatworms

  • @bluetang7

Ha thanks. I think I was using more a descriptive language than scientific, as thier bodies are kind of flat but I understand what you are saying. There are flatworms and annelids etc. Sorry for any confusion.

  • that leech extended its length twice its size! incrdible!

  • An epic battle of the ages!

I wish I could get a garter snake but a couple of things hold me back.

1-Where I live it's against the law to keep native animals in captivity.

2-My mom won't allow me to keep ANY king of snake as a pet. :(

  • @trannogon Those are some tough obstacles to overcome. Where do you live? Tell your mom that snakes are some of the cleanest and easiest animals on the planet to care for.

  • @Ricine

    I live in Canada

And I will tell my mom that

  • wow. i didn't know that. thanks for the video.

  • @737malcolm

Thanks! This is why I like Garters above all other snakes. They will eat a large variety of organisms. Worms, leeches, fish, mice, frogs, crayfish you name it. They are fun snakes.
