well the constatution wasnt the first Enterprise, and as they kept re riting the history in the cannon anyway, whos to say there wasnt an "enterprise of a diffrent class between the NX and the cony.

Plus the NX looked nothing like the first starship enterprise that you see on the wall in the rec room in "the motion picture"

@zebadee277 The NX class probably went through loads of refits before finally being mothballed then there would have to be a few more Enterprise models before the constitution era because it was nearly a century further in the future

Pike was very clear that the movie was the maiden voyage of Enterprise. The whole Constitution Class program was pushed back several years due to the attack on the Kelvin. You might be better served by placing Pike's original crew on another starship. You could use the Yorktown. That was what Roddenberry was originally going to call the hero ship in his first series concept outline.

I'm not quite following. Other than what had happened to Kirk's father, I don't see what would have changed in the timeline to Pike and the "old" Enterprise crew from before TOS. Perhaps I'm looking too far into it...

How? According to the new movie the Enterprise was buld arround 2255 in the new timeline. So it was not existing in 2250!

@RussianRasta1981 Well, I believe that, it was being refitted, not constructed at the time. The "maiden voyage" could have easily have been just a testbed run for the refit Enterprise. If you look at the pilot verison of the original, there are "antenas" on the bussard collectors, the deflector dish is larger, and the bridge structure is taller. Who's to say that couldn't have happen? (Beside the company excutives)

Hey Doc, that is music from the movie, it's just a modern version of the original theme that was used in the new film. It's a "tip of the hat" to classic Trek.

Whoa, he laid the smack-down on that teaser. The only thing I would have liked would have been music from the new movie. What can I say? I'm a convert. Am really looking forward to the adventures of Pike, Spock and Number 1 in this alternate dimension.
