  • I am simply IN LOVE with the film "Hugo." it was expertly directed, casted, filmed, everything you could want in a movie.

  • WARRIOR!!

  • Awesome list. Check out my Top 25 Films of 2011 list on my channel if you guys want to see another view of the year's best movies. Thanks.

  • nice to see crazy stupid love in there, that was a great film.

  • 8 really!??

  • IF YOU GUYS DONT REVIEW 2000 MOMENTO IM GOING TO CUT YO BALLZ OFF

  • Dude Mark! Cedar Rapids was a GREAT comedy

  • Hugo is fantastic, thank God it made the list. :)

But Harry Potter should be number one >:O

  • @SilverAtom1414 WHY!!! HP is good but If you honestly think its the best movie of the year I'll recommend you three that are better

  • @carsandsports123 I honestly do think it is the best movie of the year because it's the one that mattered the most to me. There's nothing "better" opinion-wise, and I'm allowed to have my opinion.

  • Within the first minute, hearing Bridesmaids isn't on the list:

    Meh...

  • SUPER 8 gets 4.5 out of 5 and doesn't make the list but brides mades 3.85-5 does. WTF

  • im not gunna dog yal it was a good list. but i hated bridesmaids!!! and i think i am the only one lol.. i didnt laugh once.. best comedy of the year for me will have to be Horrible Bosses

  • thank you so much kristian for putting Crazy, Stupid, Love in it it deserves it so much in my opinion!

  • I totally agree with both of about Warrior, great movie and Tom Hardy gives a knockout performance

  • I just don't get some of these comments. If you haven't seen the movies, you really shouldn't be judging Christian or Mark putting it in their top 10. I like the choices, so far guys! Can't wait for 5-1!

  • Guys should put your top 10 in the description coz not all of us wana watch the whole 15 mins video, nothing against what you guys are doing, coz i respect your choices other wise i wouldn't ask <3

  • @jaskbi well you can always fastforward to the choices

  • @jaskbi

What an odd thing to complain about. If anything, anyone who wouldn't want to watch the whopping 17 minute length should prefer that it's in two parts.

  • @donniedarkodevotte That doesnt make any sense, having a Video put in to 2 parts will still be 17 mins long, as you would have to watch both to know what the top 10 are, i was simply saying i see on most vids doing top 10 movies and what not, have it in there description if they dont then thats up to them :)

  • @jaskbi

So you're on YouTube...to read the descriptions. Nice.

  • @donniedarkodevotte Yea i wonder why they have descriptions

  • @jaskbi

I don't know, but happy new year!

  • @jaskbi Don't be lazy! sheesh.

  • @katheb Whats spending time on watching a Video got to be with being Lazy >.<

  • Sanctum? That movie was horrible!

  • @Periolat97 that was a joke lol because he knew that.. Sanctum was his number one worst movie

  • I agree. Ellis you're crazy for picking Bridesmaids over Rango or Arthur Christmas. But it's good to know that you're not as perfect as i thought you were.

  • aww guys

how come you guys didnt put the muppets on there

  • Very creepy Ellis smile at 6:36 haha

  • i watched warrior the other day and i did not like it at all. i personally think the fighter is 10 times better

  • The Incredibles isn't lame!

  • @thenewerlogin Who said it was?

  • Comment removed

  • @schmoesknow He's referring to when you say 'Thank you for not giving us The Incredibles, that's lame' as he misunderstood you saying The Incredibles is lame rather than relaying the same style is lame

  • @schmoesknow 6:55 Thought Kristian said that Brad did a great job on MI and he's "not gonna say The Incredibles, becuase it's lame."

  • @RIPROKU getting stoned I'm sure

  • I agree with Warrior, i watched it around 4 in the morning with every nerve in my body begging for sleep, but WOW! it was really amazing.

  • @expIorer5148 It is an edge of your seat type of movie

  • I still think that "Harry Potter 7.2" was a big disappointment... I was so hyped for it and.. it was boring.. I was promised a big fight.. an epic fight even.. I am still waiting

  • @alittleolder They had a epci fight and the movie was not boring it was great

  • @alittleolder Wow interesting, one of the first I have heard who didn't enjoy it but hey opinions are what made us start this channel in first place

  • Nothing against Ellis, but I really hated "Machine Gun Preacher". In fact, I would rather see a "grade B" revenge movie of the same name.

  • Um, I saw Warrior..... I didn't love it.

  • @grindhouse141 Ha, well that doesn't shock me grindhouse, you hate most the movies people love, ha.

  • @schmoesknow Hey now, there are a great number of people who see eye to eye with me on these matters, maybe not in Schmoeville, but still.

  • "and im especially gonna miss you hermione... ;]" i lol'ed at that part hahaha you old creep xD

  • @sh0rtaznant Right, man lucky she lives in UK

  • well i loved 127, thor um rotpot apes.

  • @hunter12555 127 Hours? That was 2010 or am I missing something?

  • @schmoesknow oops, sorry yea its 2010. mabye i just liked it that much

  • War Horse over Warrior? Didn't expect that at all.

  • @Advent3546 I didn't expect it either

  • lmao and nick noltes drunk.. and nick nolte is also in the film

  • @SamClarkMovies Old drunk Nolte

  • 10. Hugo

    9. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

    8. Midnight in Paris

    7. 50/50

    6. Take Shelter

  • lol I noticed the Abbey Road poster behind u Ellis. The Beatles are a great band :)

  • @GreenDayforeva1 They are indeed

  • @GreenDayforeva1 Who are The Beatles?

  • @TheSteroidRodeo One of the best bands to ever walk the face of this planet...

  • 6:33 hahahaha

  • YAY Ellis had Bridesmaids haha great lists, dont completely agree but it's opinions.

  • @moviefan978 Exactamundo

  • Warrior is easily my favourite film of the year. Its a disgrace that it didn't brake even at the box office, although i've got a feeling the you reviewers will give it the praise it deserves.

  • @MackenzieStevens I think YR will as well and I think Warrior will get a second life on bluray and dvd

  • 6:36 Pedoface! :D

  • Warrior is easily my favourite film of the year. Its a disgrace that it didn't brake even at the box office, although i've got a feeling the you reviewers will give it the praise it deserves.

  • funny cus i just watched crazy stupid love on a plane yesterday and didnt like it but its your opinion and otherwise good list schmoes!

  • @justme7388 Thanks Lucas, I stopped watching movies for the first viewing on a plane, it distorts the experience for me

  • @schmoesknow i agree but i watched drive as well and it was still great but maybe i didn like CSL becuz of the plane

  • CRAZY STUPID LOVE was AMAZING!!!!!!

  • @chickinnoodlesoup555 Glad you agree

  • k i gotta go see this mission impossible movie now!

  • @CoZac12517 Yeah I can't believe it was as good as it was

  • So glad that kristian put crazy stupid love on his list. I thought that it was a great movie

  • 2012 is going to be epic with the Dark Knight Rises coming, The Avengers, Spider-Man, Twilight part 2 ! Wait... I'm kidding for the last one, don't kill me plz !

  • lol that was such a pedo smile after saying you would miss Hermione xD

  • Everyone praises Warrior so much telling it's one of the best this year but it either ends up at the end of the list or doesn't make it at all. Strange.

  • The Inbetweeners movie was the best comedy of the year

  • Bridesmaids ?!?! Really ?!?!

  • @LukCPL why? whats wrong with it? its damn funny .....asshole

  • @starkingbiker

Why do you need to insult me. I have my own oppinion.

The movie is not funny. it's stuppid and borring imo, but maybe for some people fart jokes and mocking fat peolpe is funny :/

  • @LukCPL The movie had actually more than just some stupid fart jokes...and its their opinion too, so dont get mad at them. And for some reason I watched the film and I dont really get the part with the "mocking fat people"...it shows woman from a diffrent view than most woman film

  • you guys have not reviewed shame!

  • @SunnyKaramchandani

magneto totally hangs dong in shame

  • Uh so typical for shitty Harry Potter to make the list....

  • Great first part ! Loving it.

  • Hugo is warrr up there imo

  • Warrior should be #1. This is a Rigged Top 10.

  • I hope you guys havnt forgotten about midnight in paris. SUPERB

  • The thumbnail had a picture of Green Lantern and I couldn't help but laugh. The most disappointing movie of the year.

  • Hey Schmoes, would you ever consider reviewing the BBC series Sherlock? It only has 3 episodes (albeit 90 minute episodes) and is one Netflix right now. If you get the chance, do you think you could?

  • Idk, I thought this year was an ultimate failure compared to last year. Not to say that there weren't some good movies this year, or bad ones last year, but by this time last year there were many awesome movies, like Toy Story 3, Inception, the Social Network, King's Speech, and Black Swan just to name a few.

  • @GradGamer not really. You got 15 fantastic movies last year and 10 shitty ones, while this year gave us 25 really good ones and maybe 4 shitty ones. All in all, at least barley anything sucked :)

  • @gheith001 Well which ones do you think were "really good?" Personally the movies I saw this year were not necessarily BAD, but they didn't blow me away or give me an amazing cinematic experience. Obviously I didn't see every movie that came out, but the number that I saw were predictable or formulaic at a minimum.

  • Split it up into parts! Why didn't I think of that? Haha, my video's uploading, it's 20+ minutes. I was very surprised how low War Horse was, for Harloff, and that Bridesmaids was on Ellis' list but not Harloff's. Good video! -ThatMovieNerd

  • @KmorrisonNCC1701 Thanks duder

  • taking into account that a few films have not come out over here yet (Ides of March, Tinker Tailor, Dragon Tattoo) my 10-6 goes thus... 10. The Debt, 9. Bridesmaids, 8. The Beaver 7. Mi4: Ghost Protocol, 6. Crazy, Stupid, Love.

  • @13evilpriest13 All great ones priest

  • Soooo. I've been looking for the movie "Warrior" for the past week. Fred Myer's, Target, and best buy were entirely sold out. :,(

  • @crazygirl1502 Well worth the wait

  • I completely agree with Kristian on M:I:4; WOW.1111111 That movie really blew me away. I felt like a little kid watching it, like I was watching good old superhero cartoons and stuff as a kid. The story and the characters were actually really good, too.

I also loved the final Harry Potter movie; great way to end the series. Then there's Rise of the Apes, Winnie the Pooh (lol), The Help, and Super 8 (still a lot that I need to see).

  • @CinematicGalaxy Forgot all about Pooh, wouldnt have made top ten but really enjoyed it

  • I'm thinking the next five will be (in no order): Planet of the Apes, 50/50, X-Men: First Class, Arthur Christmas, and maybe Harold and Kumar? Am I close?

  • @TruArtStudios You were close

  • 10. Super 8 9. Hugo 8. Bridesmaids 7. Warrior 6. MI4

  • I can't wait for part 2. Why the split?

  • @burgerboot The video would have been too long, figured it would be a nice mini series

  • Nice picks from both of you! :-)

  • @punk144157 Thanks punk!!

  • I love your lists guys. Especially Harloff's. Don't worry Ellis I love ya bud.

  • @ChrisStuckmann Thanks Chris, your tribute vid was damn good if I might say so myself

  • MI 4 made it higher on the list than Warrior!? I was going to go see it but now its a must because it has to be pretty fucking good to beat out Warrior.

  • @JEDIFROMHOTH Shocking to me as well

  • @schmoesknow you should see the darkest hour

  • I thought 2010 was better. Inception, 127 Hours, Buried, Social Network, etc. It was a stronger year with more interesting films.

  • @TruArtStudios yeah, but there was the all the shitty movies that tipped the scale. This year, however, there was actually less shitty films :D

  • @TruArtStudios There were just so many turds last year

  • @schmoesknow But three movies were added to my top 25 last year, Buried #3, 127 Hours #25, and Inception #13. The most recent film to make that cut was back in 2006 when United 93 took #17.

  • @TruArtStudios I dunno...Drive, 50/50, Bridesmaids, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Girl With the Dragon Tattoo...pretty decent year lol

  • @TruArtStudios dont forget the kings speech I totally agree there are no movies that really stood out to me except Harry potter

  • @ckid032393 I didn't like the kings speech, It was long, boring, drawn out, well acted, and lacking in any interest from any normal movie junkie. It was truly a critics wet dream.

  • @TruArtStudios I see your point. I am not a critic though, I am just a 18 year old girl and I loved the kings speech. tom hopper was able to make a movie about public speaking interesting. I thought it was extremely interesting and not boring at all especially the last scene of the movie.

  • wow, I literally just turned 18

  • Damn, did this year blow 2010 away! I mean seriously, so many great films, and everyone we expected to suck (except Twilight and Jack & Jill) actually turned out to be good films :D lets hope next year can do the same...

  • @gheith001 Agreed, it was a fun year for movies

  • @schmoesknow

Lets hope for a good year in moviws for 2012, Amazing Spiderman, Avengers, Hunger Games, Dark Knight Rises, and there are a few that I'm forgeting. Get video guys.

  • Comment removed

  • Man, REAL glad you liked MI4 :D

  • @gheith001 Loved it beyond words

  • no Tintin? :(

Oh well, will you at least do Honorable mentions?

  • @gheith001 Tintin just missed my list, if there was an 11, it would have made it. We will do honorable mentions but they will be on Facebook and Twitter.

  • YES YES YES WARRIOR YES THAT FRICKEN RULED YES! my 10-6 are 10:Rango, 9:THOR, 8:Captain America, 7:ZooKeeper 6:Johnny English Reborn

  • @ZooTycoonZilla Good picks Zoo

  • @schmoesknow I have even better ones for 5-1 it was hard to pick these ones cause I was having difficulty remembering movies I saw lol. anyway Johnny English was my favorite Comedy of the year. I like comedies that is why they are higher than the two hero movies.

  • @ZooTycoonZilla Zookeeper, WTF?! O_o

  • @punk144157 I enjoyed it. I like Adam Sandler movies and I think Kevin James is fricken EPIC!

  • Looking forward to part 2. Warrior really wrenched my guts out though.

Haven't introduced yourself to your wife. Bahaha

  • @alienlifeform11 Clever little bastard aint he?

  • In regards to predictions, I'm very terrible at getting things rlike that ight, but I am going to guess that 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' will make it onto both your top 5 lists.

  • @GoldenFlither15 You will have to stay tuned!

  • loved it! :D kinda sad i haven't seen any of those movies cuz i was broke pretty much the whole year....couldnt go to the movies. So sad :( Anyways..great video guys!

  • @wahcoleANDemery Hey that's what Netflix is for, you can catch up now on all the great ones

  • @schmoesknow true...lol :)

  • Really nice pics guys! I'm so glad Ellis included Harry Potter! :)

  • @TheAquaticCat It is a fantastic movie

  • Didn't get to see Machine gun preacher or bridesmaids but at least I can rent them form the library. Guys I forgot did you see Win Win? I heard it was a great film. Anyway can't wait for Part 2! So many movies out. And just finished downloading the Hugo soundtrack. :) French music with Howard Shore tonight. I think the number one movie I HAVE to see is Drive also.

  • @DjHamHam411 I did see Win Win, great film. So many great films this year, very hard to pick the ones that got left out

  • yo guys when's the youreviewers award?

  • @drei14mh3aids Looking like Mid Feb, some big announcements coming up soon concerning the awards, stay tuned

  • It's because of you guys that I quickly went to see Warrior. And boy am I glad I did. :) Thanks, Schmoes. And I haven't seen War Horse or Mission Impossible 4 yet, but I think I will. Love the Christmas season as it's literally the only time I can go to the movies several times. ;)

Will watch 'War Horse', 'Mission Impossible 4', and 'Adventures of Tintin' at least a few more times (REALLY loved that one) before returning to the old formula.

  • @GoldenFlither15 Great to here that you enjoyed all those films as much as we did. Thanks for the comment Golden!

  • You guys are AWESOME! its my birthday today and this vid was a great gift :) haha
