  • I was there C:

If you see big pink poofy hair [which you probably won't] it's me C:

  • i was there too.

    long line

  • this was messed up see we went to the Sarah Palin fredericksburg speech and his guy with us said they asked it to be at mary washingotn College and they said we do not do any political campaign stuff whenever they just had obama. messed up

  • Working for UMW I know the McCain campaign TWICE to make an appearance & TWICE they turned us down. As a state institution we have a free speech area which is exactly where Obama used & many other outside organizations. I'm really disappointed to hear the campaign lied or was misinformed.

  • It's kinda sad how the talk of the town for a week was him coming to Fredericksburg. Me and my brother were going to go but we didn't because our friend said that the line was reeealy long and that he was just going to stay in his dorm but he went any ways and so I missed out :( but still kinda cool. we had Lupe Fiasco and Barack Obama.

  • Obama 08

  • VOTE FOR OBAMA

  • Great speech! One of his best stump speeches!

  • We Need Change....Please vote for Obama in November!!! Obama '08!!!

  • man i was there and what an amazing night!!

  • Thanks so much for the post!! I cldn't mke it for the crwd & rain so thnks for allowing me the opportunity

  • Obama '08 !!!

  • "I don't need a hat!" LOL! That's character!!

  • Obama is invincible. He is the great one! He shall OBLITERATE McCain! He shall lead this great nation to the promised land that Martin Luther King for told. He shall not just fix the economy but excelerate it. He shall teach our kids where france is on a map. He shall eliminate all downtown traffic.

  • lmao - traffic?

  • He was really good. And the rain made it BETTER!

  • That rain couldn't stop Barack, Biden or 26,000 fans! Can't stop the movement! Change is coming!

  • WOW that's some wicked zoom. What kind of recording device do you possess?

  • Sony HDR-SR11

  • The rappahannockred blog site (google it) is now bashing young people, claiming "Young people don't vote, period." He thinks we're all "ninnies" for supporting our candidate.

Go to his site and let him know how you feel.

  • I was there near the front and left because of the rain :( We didn't have ponchos and had some valuables on us that couldn't get wet.

  • Was there, but didn't get to see the speech. I was one of hundreds if not thousands who couldn't make it in...the turnout was amazing.

  • i can see my head lol

  • i was there!!!

  • I am deeply moved, very inspirational

  • OBAMA=PRESIDENT

    McCAIN=RETARTED

  • I was there and it was an epic speech! The rain only added to it!

I shook Joe Biden's hand as well and got a picture with him, albeit it was way too zoomed in. Fortunately, VA is a battleground state which means they'll be back, so I have another opportunity luckily.

  • We need to move forward with new thinking and a new group of folks-who are not just "neo-cons" and warmongers, but who truly care about all peoples of this country. The person we should vote for is Obama. Do it and let's watch as America moves forward.

  • Sen. Obama ha shown that he is more than capable and ready to be the President. What are we waiting for? Another 8 years of Republican mess? Another 8 years of the rich getting richer while the rest of us (middle class, uppermidlle, poor or somewhere in between) continue to struggle and see our country go down--while we spend billions in Iraq and help to build their ecomony?

  • Blogger at rappahannockred (google it) is discrediting the number of people in attendance last night. He claims only 4000 maximum showed up. He called everyone who attended "ninnies" and one of his readers in the comments section called Obama supporters "sheep."

Go to his site and tell them how you feel.

(I was at the rally last night, and it's something I'll carry with me forever.)

  • I was there...was SO awesome!!!

    Obama! Obama!

  • I am so happy I got a chance to a take part in history...

  • I missed the whole thing. :-( I'm so glad you posted this! Thank You Very Much!

  • It rained so hard! But Obama just kept on giving his speech during the rain. It was so awesome.

  • Thank you for posting this!

  • It was incredible!!!

I admire him and did not care about the rain!

    Peace

  • i am so glad we stayed IN THE RAIN to hear the speech. it was an amazing evening.

sure there were a handful of people that started to leave once the rain started, but there were still thousands of people that stayed until the very last word.

you have to respect a man who throws off his blazers and keeps on going. the rain started pouring and barack didnt miss a beat.

    OBAMA 08!!!

  • I'm sure it was nice. I volunteered all day, through rain et al, and then when I met at the spot for volunteers they turned us away. I was a little more than slightly disappointed. But it was still worth it.

  • I was there, got rained on, didnt see him, BUT I still had a great time!!! (:

  • A right-wing blogger at rappahannock red (google it) claims the media artificially inflated the numbers of supporters in attendance. Originally claimed 3000 max, has updated to say 4000 max. Either way -- he's way off. Go there and tell him what you think.

  • Obama and Biden gave a beautiful speech in the pouring rain. Didn't miss a beat and got soaking wet in the cold rain.

  • Hey everyone. I was 15ft. from the stage and Sen. Obama and Sen. Biden. We stood in the pouring rain and waited hours to hear Obama and Biden. The Fox news channel said the rain ended for the rally,(not true). The rain started again at the beginning of Sen. Obamas' speech. He didn't miss a beat and gave a passionate speech in the downpour. You can't tell on the video, but it was a beautiful sight to see in person.

  • omg i cant believe i missed that im sso mad

  • One who got stuck on a plane due to National Airport not allowing it to land in the rain & who rushed through DC traffic to gear here once he landed in just 45 mins.

  • that is a stupid reason not to vote for him beacuse they have to get security redy and it was raining and lightning u should reconsider not voting for him because we dont need another republican in office and wat if something happens to macain since hes so old we'll have palin as president that cant even do a simple interview

  • The effort Obama/Biden put forth to get there to see us was amazing. With all the thunderstorms in the area, his aircraft was surely delayed. They Close airports for safety and planes simply don't land or get sent somewhere else safer. I am a retired air traffic controller ,so you see I know the mess he flew into to be with us. A brave leader!

  • Let me also add for those who werent there! That our next vp joe biden was there and for those who were there, but is joe biden running for president or UMW Atheltic Director! He knew those teams there or what?

  • I was there as well! It was a great scene! That rain didn't stop us! OBAMA!! YES WE CAN! I enjoyed the people who I was standing beside with! Change is coming!

  • It was amazing to be there, the rain wasn't going to stop us. (:

  • Thanks for posting. He was awesome last night! Proved clearly why he's the right one for the job!

  • Thanks for posting! It was worth getting soaked to be there and be counted as part of the 26,000.

  • I was there. It was electric.
