@blackadam06 excellent points man, the nba was at it's true apex from the 80's to the beginning of the 90's....and actually, the expansion movement of the 1989 actually began to dilute the talent throughout the league, so therefore, even then, the level of play began to decline, w/that being said, the league has improved in the past 5 years, and it's great to see
Pippen is probably one of the best in game dunkers, a lot of Jordan's dunking legacy comes from his flair in dunk contests. If it was purely about in game dunks then imo someone like Shawn Kemp would probably be the best ever.
@mightyPants "a lot of Jordan's dunking legacy comes from his flair in dunk contests", are you joking? Are you old enough to have seen MJ from 84-90? MJ was doing dunks in games people couldnt even do in contests and dunking on people mostly taller than him. Pippen was a great dunker but MJ's in game dunks early in his career were spectacular. Now Shawn Kemp had some awesome dunks but he was also 6'10", its not as impressive wen he dunks on a 7 footer wen MJ at 6'6" would do it.
The best thing about Pippen was that he never cared that he was second fiddle. He never cared if he wouldn't be remembered. He never said that he was great or just as great (not that I've heard anyway please tell me if I'm wrong). He was fine with being number 2 as long as they would win. He's one of my favorite players of all time and I think he's probably in the top 15 players of all time.
@muffinsco eh..I don't know about that. There were several times where he asked to be traded, only to cave and keep playing. I remember one specific time during the 2nd 3-peat he began the season on the injured list for probably 4-6 weeks, and during that point he had said he would not play in a Bulls uniform again. Chicago media was freaking out because they thought the dynasty was over, but he eventually stopped demanding a trade and suited up.
@GMnation actually if you see the other angle, he clearly takes 2 steps....after he picks up his dribble....in another words he did not travel..... have a look at the youtube clip... " top 10 scottie pippen playsfro 1996"

Pippen was the best small forward maybe of all time. However he did have a few brain explosions during his career .In saying that he could have been as good as MJ,but he didnt have that killer instinct that MJ had. He did get lucky to play along MJ thats for sure as the compliamented each other perfectly.
@Raw000 retarded motherfucker.. lebron would dick on pippen in all facets of the game.. passing, outside scoring, definitely inside scoring, blocking, rebounds. choose your words more wisely
@jacobeazy where in the blue hell did i mention Lebron in the convo? You are a bona fide inbred dude.Dont blame me that your parents had a one night stand and you popped out 9 months later.
@Raw000 you didnt, you mentioned "best small forward of all time", automatically bringing lebron into this convosation. dont get all mad cos you say dumb shit on the net
@jacobeazy Yet again you fail to READ what is actually written. I never said Scottie Pippen was the greatest SF of all time, i said he MAYBE was, difference there you moron.
Pippen may be the second greatest player of all-time. I'm glad he played with MJ, but because he did he may be under rated. That's something, because he still is rated as one of the greatest without ever showing his full potential to lead a team by himself. Remember he was a top MVP candidate until MJ came back. Best all around skills of all time.
Amazing dunk but what I love more about pippen is the way he did his layups. I could watch him do that all day aswell. Kinda watching Ray Allen shoot 3's
bulls have a 3 on 1 if they wan't it...pip was thinking bulls have 1 on nothing if they want it lol...he's in the top 10 all time best players of all time in my opinion
This was a 1995 game at Anaheim. Bulls beat Clippers 104-98 in the final game their early 7 game road trip in 1995-96. They finished the road trip 6-1 with all 7 games in their black uniforms used for the first time.
Pippen was always an under rated player. He was almost as good as Jordan. But I guess when u re on the same team as the greatest player of all time people may have trouble exercising their attention over u.
@fundyspokerblog I would agree that Pip is underrated, especially with today's youngsters. I've been in conversations where people put Lamar Odom in the same league as Scottie back when the Lakers were winning championships and I was always just like *facepalm*.
However, I will say that since that 50 greatest players list was made, a lot of great players have come up and you can make a case to bump Scottie off the list. Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant, Jason Kidd, Lebron James will all make a bid.
@Dreamewalker Odom? LOL! Good Lord! Those players you mentioned will definitely make a case but there will be players before Pippen that get bumped before Pippen does. Clyde Drexler and maybe Dominique come to mind
@Dreamewalker Not really. Most list have Pippen in the 25-30 range all time list when they are made and thats NOW. And Allen Iverson? The most overrated chucker in the history of the league? That's just embarrassing to say.
@ThatwasTERRIBLE Whatever, the point is that dreamwalkers comment that Pippen could be bumped off the top 50 list is ridiculous. He obviously knows or appreciates very little about what Pippen brought to this game. Had one of of the highest basketball IQ's ever, greatest perimeter defensive player of all time, he was a 6-7 pg basically, was a great leader, he did everything on the floor. Look ANY list made NOW he's never lower than 30 and this clown says bump him off? ha.
@BarstoolBlues33 Pippen was and is underrated. Top 30 possibly. Definitely one of the most complete players of alltime. That doesn't mean you have to diminish Iverson as if he was nothing. That makes you no different than the guy you're arguing with.
@ThatwasTERRIBLE Not really. I've made it known on forums and people that I have very little respect for Iverson. He was a chucker plain and simple. His efficiency as a scorer throughout most of his career was shit. One season in 2002 he averaged 27.8 shots to average 31.4ppg...his career season scoring...but uh...sorry taking 28 shots to average 31.5pts is TERRIBLE. Anyone star in the league from Ray Allen, Vince, Kobe could do that. That's garbage 28 shots to 31.5pts lol
@BarstoolBlues33 I don't give a damn where you've posted about Iverson. You are wrong period. Iverson was a chucker but he was a great player. Led his team to the Finals and won MVP over prime Shaq and Duncan.
@ThatwasTERRIBLE Yeah unjustly won an MVP over Shaq. O'neal should have repeated as the MVP in 2001 and everybody knew it. The 2001 Sixers defense and how pathetic the east was at the time is what got the Sixers to the Finals. The Heat, Celtics, Bulls of last season would have all put a beating on the 2001 Sixers.
@acidangelster I would say Scottie was as good as Michael. Scottie understand that this a a team game and so was the best teammate to compliment the superstar in MJ.To just think of what Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady could of been had Tracy understand what a teammate meant and not want Individual glory. They could of been the next Michael and Scottie they had the offensive skills with great coaching and defensive coaching they too could of been unstoppable. Now they have nothing to show for it.
naw, i wasn't pippen, but i made sure that I would not disgrace that number, you're absolutely right, if you decide to where a number, you betta play for it
Probably the most underrated dunker of all time...I don't think people realize how many players Pippen made posters out of. Jordan had a better vert and looked prettier, but Pippen threw it down with more power. Not as flashy...but just as effective...ask Patrick Ewing lol.
@smoke117 awww man, this dunk is brutal......as you say, PIPPEN unleashed the funk on many a cats, and when he did to EWING...the greatest playoff dunk of all time......all time....
@smoke117 Hell yeah..... i agree.... i'd argue he dunked over more people than michael, they just made more of a deal out of everything mike did, deservedly so

The figures show on average: A taller player weights more than a shorter player.. durrr.. YES. (6'8 average to 6'5, with only a 10lbs lost in mass?..)
What the figures don't show:
1. Physicality. Flab is not Muscle dip shit. Today's players on average are tremendously more athletic and in much better shape.
2. Skill. These guys nowadays dribble a ball before they can even walk.. those old guys were pioneers, these new guys are engineered.

Pippen was always an under rated player. He was almost as good as Jordan. But I guess when u re on the same team as the greatest player of all time people may have trouble exercising their attention over u.

@acidangelster I'm not sure being named to the 50 Greatest of all time is being underrated
fundyspokerblog 1 year ago 13
@fundyspokerblog I would agree that Pip is underrated, especially with today's youngsters. I've been in conversations where people put Lamar Odom in the same league as Scottie back when the Lakers were winning championships and I was always just like *facepalm*.
However, I will say that since that 50 greatest players list was made, a lot of great players have come up and you can make a case to bump Scottie off the list. Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant, Jason Kidd, Lebron James will all make a bid.
Dreamewalker 3 months ago
@Dreamewalker Odom? LOL! Good Lord! Those players you mentioned will definitely make a case but there will be players before Pippen that get bumped before Pippen does. Clyde Drexler and maybe Dominique come to mind
fundyspokerblog 3 months ago
@Dreamewalker Not really. Most list have Pippen in the 25-30 range all time list when they are made and thats NOW. And Allen Iverson? The most overrated chucker in the history of the league? That's just embarrassing to say.
BarstoolBlues33 3 months ago
@BarstoolBlues33 Iverson is actually underrated. He was a great player.
ThatwasTERRIBLE 3 months ago
@ThatwasTERRIBLE Whatever, the point is that dreamwalkers comment that Pippen could be bumped off the top 50 list is ridiculous. He obviously knows or appreciates very little about what Pippen brought to this game. Had one of of the highest basketball IQ's ever, greatest perimeter defensive player of all time, he was a 6-7 pg basically, was a great leader, he did everything on the floor. Look ANY list made NOW he's never lower than 30 and this clown says bump him off? ha.

@BarstoolBlues33 look at*
BarstoolBlues33 3 months ago
@BarstoolBlues33 Pippen was and is underrated. Top 30 possibly. Definitely one of the most complete players of alltime. That doesn't mean you have to diminish Iverson as if he was nothing. That makes you no different than the guy you're arguing with.
ThatwasTERRIBLE 3 months ago
@ThatwasTERRIBLE Not really. I've made it known on forums and people that I have very little respect for Iverson. He was a chucker plain and simple. His efficiency as a scorer throughout most of his career was shit. One season in 2002 he averaged 27.8 shots to average 31.4ppg...his career season scoring...but uh...sorry taking 28 shots to average 31.5pts is TERRIBLE. Anyone star in the league from Ray Allen, Vince, Kobe could do that. That's garbage 28 shots to 31.5pts lol
BarstoolBlues33 3 months ago
@BarstoolBlues33 I don't give a damn where you've posted about Iverson. You are wrong period. Iverson was a chucker but he was a great player. Led his team to the Finals and won MVP over prime Shaq and Duncan.
ThatwasTERRIBLE 3 months ago
@ThatwasTERRIBLE Yeah unjustly won an MVP over Shaq. O'neal should have repeated as the MVP in 2001 and everybody knew it. The 2001 Sixers defense and how pathetic the east was at the time is what got the Sixers to the Finals. The Heat, Celtics, Bulls of last season would have all put a beating on the 2001 Sixers.
BarstoolBlues33 3 months ago
@BarstoolBlues33 All excuses. FACT is that he won MVP over Shaq and Duncan while leading his team to the Finals.

@fundyspokerblog maybe overshadowed is a better term for Pippin than underrated

@acidangelster Best Hall of Fame Small Forward to Play the Game..EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Francojacko 6 months ago
@Francojacko Larry Bird & James Worthy were small forwards. Scottie is actually a point guard who lines up at the 3.
upabittoolate 6 months ago
@acidangelster I would say Scottie was as good as Michael. Scottie understand that this a a team game and so was the best teammate to compliment the superstar in MJ.To just think of what Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady could of been had Tracy understand what a teammate meant and not want Individual glory. They could of been the next Michael and Scottie they had the offensive skills with great coaching and defensive coaching they too could of been unstoppable. Now they have nothing to show for it.

Probably the most underrated dunker of all time...I don't think people realize how many players Pippen made posters out of. Jordan had a better vert and looked prettier, but Pippen threw it down with more power. Not as flashy...but just as effective...ask Patrick Ewing lol.
smoke117 2 years ago 143
@smoke117 awww man, this dunk is brutal......as you say, PIPPEN unleashed the funk on many a cats, and when he did to EWING...the greatest playoff dunk of all time......all time....
scorpionJB 1 year ago
he is underatted because he was the person who gave jordan rings..........

@smoke117 Hell yeah..... i agree.... i'd argue he dunked over more people than michael, they just made more of a deal out of everything mike did, deservedly so
