Thanks for the reply! So the video is still redirection and the youtube does not include the office apps - can you add your office apps comparison as well? Also you should document the actual settings used to configure the protocols to remove confusion. While the VSI tool uses the windows client its a shame we can not see other clients like iOS or Andriod.

What a rubbish test - the test used multi media and flash. In the case of these both are rendered on the client side with HDX - not on the server via the protocol. Why did you not use a more typical set of 2D applications for the work load? What you have tested is multi media redirection. This is almost interesting but why not do multi media again on say an iPad where there is no redirection with HDX and actually see what the performance/bandwidth looks like where the protocol is doing the work

@davidwakeman The Flash video tested was HOST side rendered - no redirection to the client. Testing with HDX Flash Redirection enabled would have reduced the BW even further. Try it for yourself using the industry standard tool Login VSI and XD5.5 5.5. There is absolutely no smoke and mirrors involved.

Go to Login VSI's website under Admin Guide, Perf Test, Workloads. The Flash video was only one aspect of the testing, most of the VSI workload is office productivity apps.
