In 60s Ara and Ali have paired up in hit movies like Aag ka derya, Humraz,Wahsee,Mera gher meri janat, Ansu bun gaye moti etc. People really liked their Jori, infact it came to a point where Shamim Ara actually proposed to him. Sadly Ali's family didnt approve of this idea and as a result they never appeared with each other again and both ended up marrying other prominent personalities. Ali stayed married to Zeba where Ara had numerous unsuccessfull marriages.
