You know, as I always say it, worship is not the music, but ratter the words, the music is just a make up for the worship.
As for those of you really have a problem with Rebecca St James, well, the song don't have to please you, is not to worship you, but God. He is the only one who can Judge her and the song.
If this version really bother you, well, you can listen to a traditional version that I love as much I love this one: It is Well With My Soul by Brian Doerksen, it's just amazing.
For my part, God is glorified every time EITHER the singer OR the listener have Him in their heart during the song. If the singer is "unworthy" (not my call to make, thankfully) or the style is insufficiently "worshipful", God is still glorified. I enjoy many versions of this song and some are not my preferred style and yet I celebrate that there are so many who want to sing and hear this beautiful song written by a man who had lost so much yet still worshipped a loving God.
Well, I'm married and she is indeed a beautiful lady, but, she could be horrible, that doesn't change anything. Is not about her beauty, is about the beauty of the song and the beauty of her voice.
I love the original version, and I love this version. I love Hymns, and I do love when some one put it up a new version of our beloved "old" hymns, and I do believe that God loves too. Certainly is away better to put it ut a lot of crap that is out there and that some people call "worship".
this version to me is def the BEST version!!! is this not supposed to be a song to "praise" the Lord with??? i like the upbeat sound to it, it is NOT at all satanic....people need to stop judging by the flesh.
This totally destroys this hymn. I think maybe you should look into the background of how and why this hymn was made. It should not be to rock music it is a hymn of peace. It was also written about the tragedy of a very highly respected pastor who lost his whole family except his wife to a very unfortunate ship accident. It is actually very disrespectful to the hymn writer to even make this to be honest.
The sentiment of this arrangement does not match the sentiment of the words. The words are about being at peace, and the arrangement to me does not feel paceful to me.
I agree with you. They have completely destroyed this wonderful hymn. Rock music in any way, is satanic, if you put it in Christian music, you pervate that which is holy. The manipulation of the picture is also hypnotizing. Satan is behind this work.
God created this song and man made it in different versions to peoples different likings. I love this version, I 1st loved this song from Spafford with the piano notes but this version makes me appreciate this song more ;-) Then again Rebecca is so my style :)
ggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrr why does everyone take this amazing artists songs and then redo them and get all the credit for it like when kutless just did this song!!!!
I love this song as it is, but I also love this version, not because she is a beautiful lady, I'm married, but because it's a nice version of this amazing song, that's all.
@weirmermaid33 For your info, mad weirmermaid this song had not been originaly composed or written by Kutless AT ALL! It's an hymn from Spafford. So next time you get mad get informed b/f.
You know, it's all about taste, maybe you don't like it, but I do and many people does. I like this version, as I do like the original one, if you don't like, it's fine, you have all rights to dislike it.
@weirmermaid33 This song is a hymn that has been sung for over a hundred years, this is NOT her song. It is a public domain song now. It is a beautiful version that Rebecca St. James does here.
