Hearing this powerful piece of music has woken me up from this apathetic comatose state. I'm not sure if this is what you intended, Tom, this song just captures so many feelings and emotions, its tender and it's erratic and bittersweet. it makes me think of summers past (even without the title) and the regrets and "what ifs?" that come from missed opportunities. the keys at the beggining are so nostalgic, and the electric guitar just kicks that aggression when you least expect it. this is real, beautiful, true music, please never ever stop writing this. The beginning is about... reflection. Looking back at all the things that happened in Summersong and laughing, then looking forwards to the winter that's going to come and accepting it with open arms, even though you will miss the Autumnsong terribly.

The middle is like sitting down with your other half (whether it be love interest or the self inside of you) and talking about the Summersong in laughter, the Autumnsong in tears, and the oncoming winter in wonder and hope.

FInally, it's the end of the day, the end of a season, you're tired and you know you can't stop the winter. But as you lay down to sleep you know you'll meet it with that same determination and acceptance, and you can only hope that by the spring, you'll be able to reflect once more.

As the guitar gets louder the piano isn't the focus as much but still there (in his heart) then the piano is the focus again and while he was fighting for them his family was killed. A terrible sadness grew throughout him and he felt such guilt. But anger grows inside him and he finally decides to go back to war for his vengeance but he still feels guilty and isn't satisfied. After the war he realizes that because of the war he lost his family and himself.
