I'm an Oklahoman, and I remember Al Jazeera broadcasting (glorifying) terrorists dragging dead American troops thru the streets of Mogadishu. I remember the network showing terrorists decapitating troops in Iraq. Al Jazeera is a vehicle for Islamic hatred and filth. Damn you and damn your Islamic fundimentalist bullshit!
I don't think we should just "forget about it" 10 years hence; 3,000 people being attacked on your home soil isn't chump change. Neither should we be stomping around the globe like an out-of-control, 800 lb. gorilla.
I think by "forget it" he means "drop it". People need to stop being so afraid of terror and become more concerned about the freedoms they've lost trying to fight it.
@biscuithammer00 Perhaps out in some small town in Oklahoma, he has the luxury of "forgetting it". I live in NYC & we can't simply pretend it doesn't exist either does anyone else leaving in or near a population center of any size.
"either does anyone else leaving in or near a population center of any size."
Why? Because those spooky terrorists will get you? You know how many people die yearly from terrorist attacks? No many. So why worry about something that you can't control? This idea of fear before freedom is killing our culture.
@biscuithammer00 I don't agree with the Patriot Act & I think that the nonsense that they put us through at the airport is totally out of line (El Al hasn't had a single hijacking in decades yet they use none of these invasive searches that we do.) I don't mind cops in the subways, cameras in the tunnels or the use of dogs & monitors to detect explosives & radiation; to me that makes as much sense as wearing a seatbelt. You feel it's OK just to let it happen because you don't live where it might
@mmedefarge "You feel it's OK just to let it happen because you don't live where it might "
First, what do you mean by IT? Let WHAT happen? Second, what makes you think I don't live where IT might happen? I just happen to value our personal freedoms over an illusion of security.
@biscuithammer00 "It", the subject of this conversation - terrorist attacks. Bomb sniffing dogs, radiation monitors & cameras in the subways & tunnels don't inhibit my personal freedom in the least. If you feel that the presence of bomb sniffing dogs & radiation detectors "inhibit your personal freedoms" than perhaps you'd be more comfortable living somewhere where you can set off bombs to your heart's content, such as N.W. Pakistan.
That's such a joke. Do you think that the world just suddenly become more dangerous after 9/11? There have always been people that have wanted to harm us, but did you see us freaking out like this before 9/11? No, not nearly to this extent. In that respect the terrorists actually did win on 9/11. They wanted us to be afraid. And we were more than willing to oblige them.
1:35 -That's so true!

why such an arbitrary place to ask people how 9/11 has affected their lives? why not ask people in a place that makes sense like New York City?
