Mine is 35 yrs old, and still runs like a charm. Coleman fuel only. Sorry to you high-tech modernists...but this is "old-school" technology that never fails due to its simplicity. I have many fond memories of the sound of that little stove puttering away on a mountain peak at night, cooking up the night's latest tasty high protein chicken/rice/beef/chilli glop after a hard day's climb.
Hi, thinking of getting one of these stoves. Can you use these stoves to simmer is the flame adjustable? See you take care of your stove looks well looked after m8. Nice video.
I have one that is 31 years old. I still use it backpacking, and it still works great! I've looked at the new stoves, but this one has so many good memories attached to it, I can't bring my self to even think about replacing it.
Curiously, one of the truly great designs of all time. Brings back memories. I miss mine. But, I'll boil water faster with my old MSR Firefly (long ago discontinued) than any stove on the planet!! Great video!
Humble apologies! Your other video helped very much. Thanks and excuse my impatience. Perhaps frustrated as mine was doing badly. Was giving it Paraffin. Will try unleaded.
Hi, thanks for your interest. It's an original and once I cleaned it up I couldn't get myself to fire her up and get her dirty. Perhaps I should have demonstrated it before I cleaned it?

I use one of these that my dad gave to me, the army lads used to cook with it, siphoning the petrol.
This one looks very shiny, but my one is incredibly dirty and has been used to buggery - still works though!

Glad you enjoyed it. I have another "working" video posted. You may have seen it?. Couldn't get myself to fire this one after all the polishing!
