I've never played any Kingdom Hearts game, I'm not convinced still. Are the Disney "gameplay characters2 (Goofy, Donald) portayed with their original personalities, or are they more serious cause of the RPG stuff?

@TheJazzer94 Donald and Goofy are no different personality-wise, nor are any of the other Disney characters. I used to look at this game as silly until one of my friends got me into it, and now its my favorite game series. I never got into Final Fantasy because of the whole "taking turns" gameplay style, but this one isn't like that (also obvious). Considering the prices PS2 games are now, i'd say you have nothing to lose. Give it a try.

@Jamail797 This isn't the US release of this game. Kingdom Hearts Final Mix is a different version of the game. It has the install option because my Japanese PS2 came with the hard drive.

Its better when you get to fight outside rather than hit the heartless or run into someone and go into a certain spot then fight and then you get to leave like kingdom hearts re:chain of memories

Install will install the game to the PS2 HDD for faster loading. My Japanese PS2 came with the HDD.

The special movie is NOT Deep Dive, you have to beat it in order to see Deep Dive. The special video is a preview for Final Fantasy X-2 .

Unfortunately with the changes that they made to the stats of the other keyblades, the Diamond Dust and the One Winged Angel are pretty weak. The Rumbling Rose I believe is the name of the one you get from Belle, that is the strongest besides Ultima which I still have not been able to create due to not having the right synth items... the new Heartless are not easy and their drop rates are so small.

The voices are the English version's, so in the new scenes, there are no voices.

I got mine from PlayAsia website. You should be able to find it on Ebay as well. Beware that not all PS2s can play Japanese games, the PS2 I was using is actually a Japanese system.

Its a very good spot to earn experience, especially after they replace the easy enemies with the ones from Hollow Bastion. Go from the hall, through the red and green rooms, when you get back to the hall the enemies have re-spawned. Make that loop over and over again.

Yes. I've heard that after it loads you can remove it, but I haven't actually tried. They just want to be sure you aren't installing it on friend's hard drives and letting them play everything. I only have two games that use this feature, Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and Final Fantasy X International.

While the game can be hard to play when you don't understand Japanese, it's by no means impossible.

God forbid you play for a few minutes, and near instantly figure out that Circle Attacks, Triangle executes special moves, and X jumps.

But since it's Japanese, OH GOD IT'S COMPLETELY IMPOSSIBLE NOW!

PS2s don't come with hard drives, and you MUST have a full size PS2 in order to be able to use one (slim lines will not work).

If you buy FFXI for the PS2, you'll get a 40GB hard drive, but that's not really worth it.

Otherwise buy just a PS2 Network Adapter, and any Hard Drive no larger than 120GB.

Oh, and DO NOT buy a Western Digital, their ports are about half an inch too wide and don't fit the network adapters without 'modification'.

1) Yes and no. The network adapters will more than likely be found in a used games/accessories section.

I don't think you'll be able to find FFXI w/ Hard Drive, so you're better off buying the Network Adapter from a game store, and buying a Hard Drive from Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. electronics/computer stores.

Hard Drive read times are so much faster than CD read times.

*Most* games work on a Hard Drive, not all.

I'd be happy to give you more information, but a 500 character limit + inability to link is annoying.

Search for something like PS2 Hard Drive hdldump or PS2 Hard Drive hdldumb

That will hopefully net you a guide to dumping games to the hard drive, and plugging the Hard Drive into the PS2 as well.

The "Edge of Ultima" isn't really a keyblade. One can obtain it via cheats or codes in KH2, but it was never mean 2 b playable, coz it's actually some kind of a base program/code 4 the "Ultima Weapon". The new keyblades in KH2FM is the one with Roxas' Crest n the other one has the XIII Mushroom Heartless attire.

Final Mix has Japanese written text and English spoken dialogue.

In case you didn't already find out somewhere else, Donald is wielding the Meteo Strike and Goofy has the Massive Bumper. And yes, both of those have the strongest Attack ratings (13 for Donald, 15 for Goofy). Neither gives an MP bonus, though.
