Hell I don't even mind if Ryusei is supposedly gimped as opposed to OG. His theme is one of my favorites, his lines are epic, he throws swords, punches dinosaurs, and has a sadistic looking face at times. I'll MAKE him good :D

Anyone playing this game realised the large Almeyer battleship (purple turtle-like) is the most useless enemy battleship? It can only fire 3 beam cannons (50EN) before it totally becomes a punching bag.

Difficulty determines his starting mech.

Easy:Grungust (I don't know what type cause you have to get one or less skill point by the time you get him, I think it's a type 2)Medium:Huckibein MKII Hard:Gespenst MK II PS. Several other unlockables are like this, this is one SRW that likes to punish you for getting skill points. EX. Easy mode you get Sazabi, Zeta II, FAZZ. The only thing I can think of at the moment that inverts that is Hi-Nu on hard, Nu HWS on medium. And Hikaru's suped up VFs.

@mingzl81065 Seems not, only R-1 Kai and R-1 Powered are recovered. Viletta herself can utilize the HTB Cannon on her own R-1 Powered.

You can actually get most the robots that were in Alpha by useing a gameshark. Like R-2 powered, SRX, and even some of the licensed mecha that didn't get into the final game.

Psychic Energy and Soul of Steel are both in this game, but I'm almost positive there's neither Aya nor the SRX. Rai's in, too, but I never actually used him to attack- I don't know if he got Ice Man or not.

It's true that the R-1 Kai and Ryusei are not an amazing pair. They're certainly above 'grunt' status (Katz, Monsha, Keith, anyone not Loran or Harry from Turn A's MS pilots... etc.), though, and the same goes for Viletta.

Aya is in the game but you only get to use her at the very end (after you return to the present), and I think one mission on the pre-time time jump route split if you pick the right route. She at least appears there if you can't use her. She even has the R-3 powered, it is Rai who is missing the R-2.

From Turn-A :Gavan also very good. He has command, Guts(the game breaker skill from ag (if you put Burning/Gavan/Garrod/Hikaru/Fo­kker/Jiiron)to a tough unit(Gp03d, Val Varo,Dx+gf) ), hey can be unsoppable, even stronger than the main newtypes.

the R-1 Kai is slightly stronger than the regular R-1 aside from not being able to combine into the SRX it cant transform into the R-wing

You get R-1 Kai after the mission 32 split, but you only get R-3 on the Hard ending path and you don't get R-2, so no SRX.
