It was Lord Balfour who gave Israel back as a homeland after the british beat the turks 1917. 2.)The land included Jordan and the West Bank with provisions for existing res. 1922. 3.)Great Britian backed out with the "White Paper" in 1939, leading to the slaughter of Jews who had no homeland to flea to during the 2WW.4) In 1947 the UN finally offered a partition, Israel accepted, Arabs didn't.
