I am looking for some help regarding this song. Love the band ever since I saw them on SNL back in '90. Anyone know where I can get a copy of the performance on SNL? Was in my mind the tightest performance on live TV that I have ever seen.

MINDBLOWINGLY GREAT. I got into them via the 99cent store by my house. Family Album is the one I picked up. I'd pay 99bucks for that amazing cd. I've never looked back since. When I have a bad day, (common lately) I'll put on the Spanics and it eases the pain like no other.
Also got to see them at Tipitina's in New Orleans in the early 90's, and I can remember a fuss about the opening band bitching about the Spanics not letting them play long enough. They promptly got trashed and started heckling them, making fun of Ian's clothes/looks, etc., and Tom pointed his guitar at them during "Julieanna," and took a monster solo and backed the hecklers out the door. Awesome.
Very glad to hear they are still releasing new material.
Bunch of crazy people who say this in the "only" great song on their debut album. That whole records kicks ASS, and I've played it addictively for YEARS. Could never keep it off/out of my turntable/tape deck/car stereo/CD player/iTunes as technology changed with the times. IMO, the last tune, "Roll On Down the Line" is the only song approaching weak material. "Way Life Goes?" "Undercover?" "Promised Land?" "When I Call?" "Stronger Than Anything?" So much great stuff all over that record.
yes, i bought this for that song and review i read on it some years ago. i liked the album too- thanks for reminding me of them guess i'll have to look them up see what happened to em.
Yes, bought the CD JUST LAST YEAR after looking for it ever since I saw them on that fateful Saturday night. They tore that up. I too have an old VHS copy somewhere, but does anyone know where to see the performance? NBC? Nope... YouTube? Nope... Hulu? Nope... Any ideas?
The band that ate my Brain!! All my SpanicBoys CDs got stolen! I opened up for them several times in Milwaukee. Would love to replace this part of my catalog. Help!! Hi Ian, anything laying around??
Best move Sinead ever made. May never have heard of this band if she hadn't cancelled. They have quite a few CD's out there. All GREAT!! These guys are monsters live. Do yourself a favor and buy everything you can find of theirs. You won't be disappointed.
That's too funny! I just watched and old VHS I have and it was that SNL episode with the DICE MAN, and these guys, then got on Youtube search, and cant believe they were on here, I remember taping the show and when these guys came on I was blown away and was bummed they only did the one song, they had this other act, Julie Cruz or something like that do the second number.
saw them on a service call at "stache and little brothers" on the osu campus.these guys rocked the house down!very underrated and should have been big.guess they arent pretty enough.they sure can make great music though.
love this song.saw them in cleveland in 1992. great show. tom actually fell through the stage as it collapsed because it wasn't properly secured. He never missed a note and kept playing! What a true professional! They are still playing and have a new cd out. They actually have been releasing material all along, but you have to order it on their web site or at music outlets that will order it for you.Ian has also been busy producing other artists.Truly very talented guys.Get any of their cd's.They rip
I saw them live around this time somewhere around chicago land, they were GREAT! I went went with with my brother, who has since passed away so this has a special place for me. Thanks for posting
I'm from their hometown and have not seen them perform for a long time. Tom might be gettin' up there in age. I heard he studied with Segovia; then again, who hasn't?
Funny you should say that. I always thought this was the weakest song (relatively speaking of course)on an otherwise outstanding album. I might add it was critically well-received also. Saw them live in chi-town about 89-90. Maybe Shuba's? Great show as others have noted.
I caught that episode and really dug this song, too. I've never heard anything else from them, though. I have no idea why I thought to search for it today...Odd.
Saw it on SNL with Dice ( back when he was great ) . Always remembered it .
AWESOME !

This was the band that replaced Sinead O'connor on Saturday Night Live after she refused to perform while Andrew Dice Clay was hosting.

I'm glad someone else remembers the stage collapse at that little place on the corner of W 6th and Lakeside.

I was surprised how weak the rest of the album was compared to this song. Love the vocals on this song...
