I love this song. It brings back special memories of a Christmas Eve many years ago with a very special boyfriend. We eventually brole up but our friendship moved onto another level and we have always maintained our friendship and even to this day we keep in touch. As a matter of fact he will be visiting us next week. I've played this song hundreds of times on a my six string. It's such a masterpiece. So delicate and powerfull at the same time. As Tears Go By taught me a lot about the songwriting level of Keith Richards and Mick Jagger. These guys were so young when they wrote this song. It's amazing. Especially if your consider the lyrics. You my friend have captured the essence of this song. I got goosebumps while listening. You are right. I play it exactly the same, but it sounds better on a 12 string!

The trick for me was playing it on a twelve-string, not a six. The sound is much fuller and compelling. It sounds kinda flat on a six-string!
