  • @mladenvic You didn't hear Metallica, you heard Thin Lizzy.

  • @Swedernish Well technically with the octaver it was Metallicas version haha

  • But seriously, can the song starting at 0:48 be dowloaded somewhere ? It's in a lot PGS videos and I really like the way it sounds :D

  • Whiskey in the jar-oooooooo!

  • Awww yeah, Muse!

  • Mother fuckin bomb track. <3 it.

  • KNIGHTS OF CYDONIA!

  • Andy, I love you, but please don't say gnarlly

  • "with the blend up you can mix out the dry signal completely and you mine as well have your bass player take five" ...HEY!

You leave us bass players alone, we will not stand for being replaced with a pedal.

    First the drummers now this.

  • @PierreAndreJacques

I used to replace my drummer with an octaver !

  • i have one!! its amazing !!

  • I want something like POG just without digital. Want all analog octave shifter. I want that TCV octaves..

  • chris wolstenholme from muse uses the oc 2 for his bass rig but i read reviews about the multiplexer being a generally better octave pedal than the oc 2. advice? :)

  • Why don't you ever play songs????? Your pentatonic waking is soooooooo boring!!!!

  • @bbnatedogg

    he plays songs ....

  • @bbnatedogg He totally played at least 2-3 famous songs.

  • RATM Bombtraack ! anyway this pedal is BADbASS

  • Do they make that pedal for bass guitar?

  • @speedtomas you can use it with bass

actually you can use any ehx with bass and it sounds good

  • do my ears decive me or is Bombtrack on the intro?

  • Thumbs up for rockin out to Bombtrack |,,| -_- |,,|

  • for the rage against the machine cover, what overdrive did u kick in?

  • 3:04 sounds like bob marley's jammin' haha

  • @Aehro lol it is sweet i love that song

  • How would this be for vocal shiting. Say Goregrind sound. In fact, could a demo be done on that if possible?? Trying to see if these are worth using for vocal effects

  • 3:37 Knights of Cydonia?

  • bombtrack!

  • Can someone tell me the song at 20 seconds in? I know it's Morello but I don't know what song it is. :\

  • @TheChondriac bombtrack by ratm

  • @TheChondriac

    Bulls on Parade

  • @sirmanb that is not bulls on parade. it is bombtrack

  • I had this pedal , but i sold it ... I think it looses quite a bit of volume when engaging it . What do you think PGS ?

  • What is the song at 47 seconds in? Sounds like Shellac

  • will the low frequencies fry my guitar amp?

  • Would you have to have a bass amp??

  • ahhh. ratm. thank you andy

  • how do you do those power chords in the rage song if its mono phonic

  • @TheSkyLineBand1 they aren't power chords, what you hear is the octaved signal mixed with the original.

  • Nice Demo

  • this one really get those bass notes. nor like the pog, more phat and dense, but the pog has another stuff running there.

  • so can you play 7 nation army with it then?

  • @ChristyOB3 i wouldnt, i'd just use a whammy

  • does the boss oc2 do the glitchy thing like this, and can it be set to do just a bass line on its own?

  • @TheLedGuitarist from what ive read, it can play just a bass. ill let you know when i get it in the mail.

  • 2:15 Sounds like Jack White :P

  • @PauloVento or even a little cKy

  • bombtrack by harmonix morello rocks

  • Every time I want to check out how a pedal sounds before going into a store I look your demos up. They're great.

  • what does the other output change? does it just take the effect out?

  • JUST ANOTHER BOMBTRACK!!!

  • Would this be a solid, cheap alternative to going out and buying an actual bass. Would simply using this and my electric or acoustic guitar be enough to simulate a thick bass sound? (I don't use any distortion, %100 clean/acoustic)

  • Anybody tried this against the Micro POG on bass? Or even guitar?

  • Comment removed

  • @TheLedGuitarist Blue Box if you want something that can create some crazy, unpredictable sounds. Octave Multiplexer if you want something more simple and easier to use.

  • what is that song at 1:38 or is it just made up?

  • sublime (Y9

  • muse ^.^

  • ratm bombtrack, great example

  • hey andy,

first i have to say that you really make the best videos in the web!!!

    Now my question:

can i get the same sounds with the micro pog?which one do you prefer and why?

thank you and greets from Germany

  • Knights of weirdonia

  • What's the song between 0:22 - 0:40? Someone answer PLEASE! Cheers!

  • @BrianJaguar its rage against the machine, bombtrack

  • freakin hell yeah! KNIGHTS OF CYDONIA!!! U guys rock!

  • Heh RATM and some Muse riffage, interesting effect u can get out of that last one

  • 1:43-2:01is that a song or just jamming? if its a song anybody know what its called?

  • 0:48 what is the song?

  • GREAAT

  • No. You'll be fine.

  • What'll happen if I use this on a bass? With a Big Muff Pi and wah?

  • BOMBTRACK ! u rock, andy !

  • dumb question: what exactly do you mean when you say "tracks" or "tracking"??? im new to octave pedals

  • Tracking refers to how well the octave sound "sticks" to the original note. Better tracking = notes are synced up better.

  • Knights of Cydonia FTW

  • bomb track!

  • What's the big difference between this and the micro POG?

  • POG does octave up and down. This is just octave down and only monophonic.

  • thanks a bunch for the answer.

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos POG is digital, Multiplexer is analog

  • @15000volts and this is analog and pog is digital

  • Love the Thin Lizzy man! Great pedal here, keep the demos rolling guys!

  • @astro2069 i would actually say it was the metallica whiskey in the jar because they did it down low an heavy like that. nothing beats the original dubliners version though.

  • Whiskey in the Jar!!

  • MUSE!!

  • Did I hear Pumkin Belly in there?

  • woo muse :D

  • Why would i buy this and not a POG?

  • This is Analog, the POG is digital. Different strokes...

  • Whatchu talkin' bout, pro guitar shop demos?

    alright, I getcha.

  • correct me if i'm wrong but i think you could play chords with the pog, but not with the multiplexer... or it just sounds less good.

  • difference of 180 euros

  • @JMMQOTSA This is cheaper.

  • @JMMQOTSA This is less than half the price of the POG.

  • Whats the song at 4:00 ?

  • muse knights of sydonia (its morning i 'm not fully awake so don 't know fer sure

  • Knights Of Cydonia - Muse

  • what will happen if you play chords??

  • i have a question.. wont the low frequencies fry my guitar amp?

  • @caprico82 Depends how good your amp is and how loud you play it..

if it's a 15 watt practise amp from crate and you play it on 7 then you might blow the speaker..

if it's a marshall half stack and you play it on 7 (if you want to go deaf) you'd be fine

  • @paperbea Neil Young uses an octave with his 18 watt fender deluxe cranked, right? Why do they hold up?

  • possibly. depends how loud you get. some people use one of those boss channel switchers and have it running to a bass amp and all the other effects to a normal amp

  • @caprico82 I'm curious about this as well.

  • @caprico82 good question. Answer is yes, possibly!

  • @caprico82 probably no, if you aint got a really crappy amp. If you could use a Whammy since the early 90's and (i have) never heard of anyone destroying their amp. The bassist of YES played thru a guitar amp, a lot of organists have played their hammonds thru guitar amps and so on. Didn't Kilmeister play through a marshall guitar amp?

  • @caprico82 they can, but all octave pedals do that so you have no escape so just use it right and you should be fine.

  • How would this pedal sound with a bass instead of a guitar?

  • @alembicbassguy It sounds a million times better with bass, trust me, iv got one and i play bass mainly, i personally think it sounds abit pants with guitar.

  • @alembicbassguy

I use one, it sounds good

again though, the tracking is just garbage. You can't play very fast or intricate lines on this and expect crystal clear results, but its still an awesome pedal try one out if you can

  • What is the difference between this and the POG?

  • Here you can only play single notes, on POG you can strum whole chords.

  • what do you mean? how would it sound with playing chords?

  • @DesktopSkater to the best of my knowledge this is an analog unit hence monophonic, i.e. you are supposed to play single notes through it,, multiple notes like power chords will sound mashed up and noisey so this will only emulate a single note bassline or a heavy riff if blend control is used. whilst the POG is a digital Polyphonic Octave Generator (hence P.O.G.) you can play chords and with the right settings it can sound like a 12 string guitar, an organ, a synth and much more possibilities.

  • is it possible to have the guitar signal just with the fuzz and without the octave? if yes how?

  • Whiskey in the jar-O...

  • Really good demos :) Andy is a really cool guy :) I would really like to see the demo of the most interesting pedal on the planet : Flanger Hoax , by EHX :)

  • I'm not on the right drugs to appreciate this pedal...

  • Rage Against the Machine, Sublime AND Muse, all in one demo? Andy you're spoiling us.

  • @fullmetalfunk and Jamming by Bob Marley

  • @fullmetalfunk And Metallica :P

  • @McFro95 True, I forgot that one. I'm not a giant Metallica fan though, there's a good amount of songs I dig but I'm not like a super fan. I do admire their talent.

  • @fullmetalfunk Thin Lizzy did it first and did it better :P

  • @fullmetalfunk yeah screw Bob Marley

  • @eldrickenji Huh?

  • @fullmetalfunk while yes it is subime that is actualy avery commonly used dub reggae bassline. but you're right he definatley kicked out good jams for this one.

  • @MBnjmn True, I just kind of posted that out of excitement haha. I recognized it as Sublime.

  • @fullmetalfunk All good. I first heard it from ublime then as I got into more genre's based off ofdancehall i realized it was everywhere. this dude Soundmurderer uses it a lot, check out Soundboy by him.

  • Holy shit. The beginning of Bombtrack sounded amazing. Guitar and bass all in one.

  • whiskey in the jar!

  • great pedal the only problem that i have with this is that it lows your volume too much.

  • yeah, i have the same exact problem.

  • EQ pedals FTW! it can fix the problem

  • bombtrack!

  • Which pedals are used for the overdrive and distortion in this clip? i doubt that's just a DRR cranked.

  • AHAHAHAHA the tone sounded like a gunshot during $hites Of Cydonia :D

    great pedal, buying one.

  • MUSE!!!

  • SUBLIME at 2:50! Hats off Andy - you are king!

  • Hilarious!

  • RATM biotches

  • Knights of Cydonia! Epic!

    Cheers

    Rob

  • the bass from Jammin' there ! heh funny with a guitar...

  • playing Muse there was a little unexpected to me. love them though so that was cool.

  • MUSE!!!

  • good pedal for playing- White Stripes-Blue Orchid.

  • andy used the term gnarly, this just made my day

  • sounds like sleep

  • ya the opener to Bombtrack by Rage Againts the Machine

  • Andy, it's funny you should play a MUSE song on this demo, as it was just announced that their bassist's (Chris Wolstenholme's) new live board includes two of these babies. Right on.

  • CARESS ME DOWN! =D

  • I was surprised to hear Knights of Cydonia in you guyz' reviews!! Play more of'em :D

  • Sublime :)

  • knights of cydonia! yeeey :)

  • cool

  • is this as good as the digitech whammy pedal? or better? i like the digitech whammy better cuz it can go up on the octaves too

  • I love this pedal but instead I got a Boss oc2. It is basically this with a 1 octave down option. Still, if you guys want to buy a new octave pedal and not a discontinued one, this is a great chice.

  • Boss pedals cannot be compared with any other pedals, they are like the kia or proton of the guitar world

  • care to explain the analogy?

  • whiskey in a jar!

  • Very nice indeed.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice demo once again!

    I have question,

I have a EHX double muff, and i was wondering wat kind of adaptor i should use, because I can't use a standart 9 volt adaptor.

  • Electro Harmonix cathedral, Andy??? PLEASE!!
