@tubesox000 I think that was Three's Company, a commentary from the George Reeves Superman TV series, Wolfgang Puck cooking, and shots from Akira Kurosawa's Drunken Angel.
The reason we artists use a drawing table is because of the angle. If you put your drawing pad on a table in front of you and sit normally with out leaning in, you'll find that the angle will make a drawing appear correct, but when you bring it to a head on look, you will see it stretched. The drawing table allows a comfortable sitting position for longer periods of time because of the way the page is presented to our eye. Hope that helps.
Well if it works for you...I guess it's all good. When I'm at my computer with a pad i don't have it inclined, but then the pad is 9x12, vs. when i work at the table it gets up to 3o inches high, so i guess if you're comfortable with it...
I have to work a page from start to finish without leaving the drawing table...otherwise, I'd spend the whole day eating potato chips and staring off into space.
I do this daily, haha. Around college courses that is. Please, someone pay me for it! haha. I was curious as to how many pages you do in a day? I was jsut wondering if I need to speed up or concentrate on more details.
Oh wow, really?! I thought you had to get like 20+ pages done in 15 days or so. That's about the average comic book pages right? Giving the inker and the colorist time to do there stuff...and the publisher? Or am I way off? Haha OpiumKoolaid, I know what you mean!
It's a important video. Many people think that when we make comics, we live a glam life, something like this. But your video's very human and show that we really are, normal people. Just we can work with we relly like.
interesting how you paced the drawing time into your day, one question..how many pages do you do in a day? what is an average and can you show more of what you are drawing. nice natual feel to the film don't kill it with cliche "professional" it's nice to watch people instead of editing.
You don't need a story to make a short film about something. You video is just fine as it is. Natural. You will kill it once set it up and try to make it professional. This is youtube after all. Just make as free as possible, thats what i would do if i were you. You have a funny charismatic look, use it to your advantage. Here's an idea: Get yourself drunk one day and film yourself while at it. Try it, see what happen. Mabuhay ka!
I disagree with your statement. There's nothing wrong with coming up with a story and having a plan. We need more talented filmmakers like Gerry in the Philippines.
"Drunken Angel" ang title nung movie. It's the first collaboration of Kurosawa and Mifune. Meron na pala akong video ng life ni Eugene. "Eugene the Dalmatian". Ganun lang talaga ang buhay nya all day. :)
I'm glad your parents were ok Gerry. This video is great! It's a short film. Did you plan to use the tv for audio? Because it was a cool idea. I mean the superman audio was perfect for a comic artist. You could seriously become a film director. Did you ever have aspirations for it?
I have to admit, I've been really enjoying doing these things. I actually plan on doing a small and short film for You Tube, maybe something no more than 15 minutes. I'm just trying to figure out a story. :)
what do you do if you have an "art block" or don't feel like drawing but you HAVE to!! I have this problem right now and can't draw!

@Geoff You just have to work through it. When you have deadlines you can't afford to wait until the mood strikes you.

Poor guy.
He works really hard.
This is why comic book artists are REAL artists because they put in more time and effort into their work than people think.
They deserve our respect.
The certainly have mine.

@katana2665 I draw on a flat table and i never stretch my drawings, i tried using that inclined one and it was too akward for me to use

Doesn't your body feel akward trying to lean in while your arm is in that angle though?
