@RickRoller14 Not bad for a Freshman, just keep working you'll get a good rhythm, and you'll get it. My best time as a freshman was 16.6. I was really inconsistent though. I'm only a sophomore now, I run like a 16 flat now.
@DoggieBark Nice job lol, I usually 4-step because i'm short and can barely do a 3-step. I went to my league championships and got 19 flat and 49 on the 300m hurdles
Sorry, but that's kind of poor when a guy can clip two hurdles and still finish ahead of the ones who didn't clip any hurdles. Either that or his competitors got too confident after seeing him clip the hurdles and slowed down slightly.
That might be true, but the top American competitor in the Womens' 100m Hurdles Finals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics lost her shot at a medal because she clipped the final hurdle, finishing in 4th place. In a way, clipping a hurdle or two can damage one's overall performance.
i dont think she clipped that hurdle, i thought she more hit it rlly hard, but yeah it really depends on the athlete, someone like allen johnson would clip alot of hurdles and he still ran really good races
There's a big difference between the two. The guy in this video clips it with his lead leg, which doesn't make too much of a difference. In the Olympics, LoLo Jones clipped the hurdle with her trail leg, which threw off her balance and made her get tripped up. So, if the lead leg clips the hurdle, it isn't a big deal. When the trail leg clips it, then you start having problems.
It depends with part of the lead leg, In training I hit a hurdle with my lead leg, Albeit I did change them in mid air somehow, and crashed. But then again, at the county indoors last year I hit the hurdle with my trail leg, I stayed upright but ran out of my lane and it hurts ALOT more.
i beat this guy in the 800 by .05 sec it was extremly close lol a time of 2:14 i think

clipping hurdles will do very little to slow you down, i run hurdles and i'll hit like two or three and still get first or second....
thurid333 2 years ago
ya but when you are running against actually fast people, it helps to not hit them. its kind of common sense that you don't want to hit them

clipping a hurdle doesnt slow you down very much at all though, if your someone who clips hurdles alot you would be used to it
