  • Well done young JeT~I

  • very very impressed,i'm a motor insurance engineer over here in the uk,and you are clearly very talented.Keep working on it,and good luck, you have done an amazing job.

  • good job,you only have to look at the success of cars like the Ariel Atom to see, small displacement in a light weigh chassi is the way to go.

  • Also, what computer program did you use to make the virtual model? You inspired me, and now instead of dreaming about it, I am going to make it. What kind of shocks did you use for the suspension? Where did you get the wishbones for the front and rear suspension? Also, what type of set-up did you use to get the chain drive to the rear axle? Please get back to me. Thanks and keep up with the project!

  • I can't wait to see the new frame! I am also thinking about building a car for myself. It will be a 2-door, and have a roof. I just want to know if the type of metal you are using is strong enough/rigid enough to handle that kind of performance. Also, what kind of metal is it? it looks like angle iron. Also, about how much did you invest into the project, and what are you going to use to cover the car with? Any ways, it looks awesome, and I can't wait for any updates. Good luck!

  • have you completed that car yet? nice work man

  • @tompwh the car was put on hold when i graduated tech school in texas and moved back to minnesota. i no longer had a shop, and started working on plans for a new, improved frame. im about to start work on that within the next few weeks, and will post an update vid shortly after

  • @AceSkater it's called top gear in case you don't know

  • @viperxraptor2001 yeah i know. this was an entry for an eBay contest, and i couldnt use copyrighted names. love that show though

  • Wow JD. What a great project and tremendous amount of ingenuity on your part. Can't wait to see this finished!

  • Let's see it run.....

  • How did you rig the transmission? Was it a shaft bike or chain and How did you rig the back Axel up? Trying to do this with a Fiat 126 from a motoguzzi engine.

  • Hey just wondering what software did you use for the drawing out and designing of your gecko that's really cool that you've designed it by yourself always wanted do that right Now I'm rebuilding 68 ss camaro it's gona be awhile before I'm done

  • This is pretty inspiring man! Im with you on your ideas, love doing car work just like you; only thing here i wouldnt do is weld a frame together haha

  • Great work and vision from a 19 yo, keep it up and hope to see it running soon.

  • great minds think alike!

  • i like what your doing. working on something like that my self except with a turbo charged honda civic motor. i do think that there is a place for cars like these but don't get your hopes up about seeing them at SEMA. the majority of companies won't make anything like this because of potential law suits. thats why anything you find like this car are sold as "kits" other then the ariel atom. anyways keep up the good work and i can't wait to see it tearing up the road.

  • hey man this is a great idea i hope to c the finale product good luck man

  • respect ! enough said !

  • dude thats just a great idea i plan on doing the same thing with a gsxr1000 engine i wanna compete at the local road course so thanks to you ive got my differential idea figured out keep posting i wanna see er fly!

  • My hats off to you buddy, keep on working all hard work will always pays up, for cover or outer shell use carbon fiber they sell it on ebay by roll of yard, just gotta look around

  • massive respect to you,my friend.

don't let anybody get you off of this project :)

i think this WILL work and i'd love to see the finished result.

  • take Chip Foose, for instance - i don't think he would have come as far as he has by "coming out of his dreamland",as you put it...

cut the kid some slack...stuff like this should be encouraged, not broken down.if you know so much better, why don't you build your own and prove him wrong?i'm not saying you know nothing 'bout cars either, before you start flaming me for that...all due respect, but those kind of reactions,THATS what i call naive...chill out man...

  • why bock framing not tubing

  • its a combination of the two. the way i constructed it, the round tube actually goes through the sidewall of the rect. tube, so the steel itself holds itself together, rather than just the weld bead holding things together. kinda hard to explain without the car right in front of you

  • haha your talking about bbc top gear

  • sure am :). but you cant use copyright names in the video entry

  • thats sic dude
