  • what tuning is mullane's accordion? can anyone help me with this question?

  • omg

  • lads I put up irish tunes to listen to not to debate about IRA, Norther Ireland and Orange Orders.. Listen and Enjoy...

  • @neilhosey

simple, i was listening to some good music, when seen the GAA started thinking how unfair and one sided this kind of thing is. Not very welcoming thats all :(

  • How is the Orange Order bigots please explain?

haha Neil Lennon had that coming to him big time! You cant think he can sing IRA songs in Glasgow and play for Northern Ireland. There is many catholics in the Norn Iron football team and they got treated fine Lennon was a tramp and terrorist supporter.

Please wake up GAA more welcome haha...thats a good 1..

I have to say im happy talking to you, no idea wheres your from but issues like this has to be cleared up

  • part2: were repulsed by the actions of the british army in NI. You can see how a group of likeminded people need to stand together for basic human rights and social and ethnic identity dont you? irelands culture had all but been wiped out for several hundred years thanks to the british occupation of our country, the GAA is an organisation that brings together the sports of the Gael. Just like Comhaltas does so for music... do you hate them 2?

  • @51wins either way i dont understand your motives for posting here. if you are so repulsed by the GAA, dont watch videos with their Jersesys in it.

  • gonna eberyone shut up witht he gay comments

    these guys are class

pure love to have been there mahn

    nice tunes guys ;)

  • this song has officially made my day

  • That's ridiculous?? They have GAA in Northern Ireland! And regardless, sorry what!!?! How does that make any sense! So if he was in a soccer jersey it'd be perfectly fine and you wouldn't be put off? Goodness

  • im not been funny, but tops like that would put people off, the GAA is anti-British and anti-Protestant always has been, people in the Republic may ave moved on but Northern Ireland hasnt...not very welcome for people from Northern Ireland...was just saying doesnt mean the music isnt any good i love this video.

  • That hasn't been the GAA's policy, officially or in practice, for about 25 years now at least! You're prejudices are pretty out-dated sir :) and besides, whatever jersey he's wearing makes no difference to the music. Agus tá sé sin snasta agus blasta gan dabht :)

  • mate im not out dated, if you live in Northern Ireland its clear to be seen, the GAA doesnt or didnt allow British army or police to join! Protestants arent welcome (not that they want to join anyway im sure)

  • 51wins

actually the gaa rule 21 was abolished in 2001, the british security forces are now welcome to join the gaa, so you are outdated.

  • thats why i said didn't or doesn't! as i thought the rule might have changed, makes no difference anyway, IRA terrorist Hunger Stricker tops brought out by the GAA was a disgrace, how can they claim to be just a sport ? clearly their political and religious! Using their grounds for IRA memorials and naming clubs after IRA killers! Im not a bigot i have catholic friends and proud of that fact but thats just sick mate, and any1 who would support that cant be a rightful thinking person!

  • well to be fair now, the british security forces deliberately murdered 14 civillians in croke park including a footballer...that was reason enough for anybody to ban them.

though theyre not perfect, the gaa are certainly more approachable and inclusive to members of the whole community, with less secterian membership than any orange flute band can ever claim to be, and most caholics are too ashamed to support northern ireland because of the loyalists waving paramilitary flags at every game

  • see that comment is just crap the bit about the Orange Order or flute band....i mean why cant you understand their set up for Protestants?

Do you know what you just said? its like my saying why cant a Protestant minister preach in a Catholic Church thats how crazy it is!

there is no paramilitary flags at games, clearly you have seen Norn Iron this past 6/7 years, there is no Prod songs even though the majority of supporters are Protestant.

  • 51wins yeah youre right the orange order and their marching bands, are by their very definition and oath of allegiance, bigots.

you know yourself that Neil Lennon was given a death threat while playing for northern ireland by one of his "fans"...the sectarianism was/is rife, and the gaa is at least as much, or more welcoming to members of all communities than the n ireland soccer team.

i dont want our comments to take over the debate about this music, please message any replys direct to me

  • oh but piper jay, cant you clearly see that the guy in the gaa jersey is a highly discriminating racist??

and daym that guitaring is shit hawt, he moves the position of the capo in like the split secong gap between the 2 tunes! wow

  • Check out some of his other clips...Damien can play the left hand with the best of em!

  • he used to be shit when he went to lessons with us in london, now he's gotta be one of the best accordion players about!

  • Great piece - thanks for posting it. Anyone know the maker of that Bodhran? It looks a lot more comfortable than the one I play.

  • its a seamus o kane bodhrán.

  • Great touch. But I wish he'd slow down a bit. Still prefer the Joe Burke style. I notice the left hand is now almost a think of the past.

  • Im pleased to say I work with the Mullane boys Dad, John your boy is magic!

  • I really admire people who master accordion !

  • go hiontach!

  • First (maybe second) tune is the Girls of Bandbridge, recorded by Coleman.

    Mighty stuff!

  • What great music. Imaginative, intelligent, emotional. What the Irish are.

  • Lovely playing!

  • Stellar... don't know the names of the tunes, though. I was playing just this sunday with a 15-year old girl who was 4th place All-Ireland Fiddler -- hands like a machine.

  • This is fabulous playing.

  • this is brilliant

  • Congratulations ! This is excellent !! Phalaina

  • Does anyone know the names of these tunes?

  • The last tune in the set was written by Antrim piper Patrick Davy and he calls it "Headwood Crossing."
