Well i guess everything happens for a reason. In this case i think thailand really needs a new leader since Thanksin failed to solve the southern thailand crisis. One thing for sure, democracy failed to counter corruption.
The people want it, they get it. They already weren't happy with their old leader. How is it not democracy if all the people collectively agree its time to get rid of a bad leader? I hope thailand will have a better less corrupt govt after this whole thing
Funny how the military has taken action just before an election is due to take place. Worried about the democratic process and how it is them who are missing out on corruption and it's benefits.
Not worried. History in Thailand (19 coups since becomming a democracy in 1932) shows that the military is generally pretty quick to return control to the people. There is speculation that this was in fact a counter-coup, after PM Thaksin moved to oust General Chondi and bring in pro-PM forces to counter a large opposition demonstration scheduled for the 20th - the day after the coup occurred.

Corruption exists in everyone. If you tolerate it, it spreads like a virus. Take it from me..I lived in the Philippines for a lifetime.

It is inaccurate to say that the people of Thailand wanted this coup. The urban elite wanted this coup. The rural poor did not.
The rural poor makes up the majority of the population in Thailand. They voted Thaksin into office twice in 2001 and 2005.
The people welcoming the the tanks in Bangkok were not the rural poor.

You are correct. on the promised election the PPP which was once Thaskin's TRT won by a landslide due to votes from the countryside.

Are you worried? History shows that after a coup, even a bloodless one, democracy rarely returns and a military power takes over
