  • :( Sam died months later. God rest his little soul. Tough little bugger didn't deserve what he went through and neither did anyone else human or animal. But the feral animals that ravage our land that died now there is a plus. But that was the only plus worthy of a mention.

  • Thais right i changed the title very sad.

  • Wow dude quick response on your behalf lol H2O has a new meaning these days Help 2 Others. Yer poor little bugger is hopefully in a gum leaf heaven full of Shelly Koalas. If its any consolation the possum I gave a hose to drink out of is still running around on my roof during the night chasing his girl friends hahaha the cheeky little beast.

  • Hi Earthstudy. I have a PowerPoint Slide Show that show's how Sam the Koala is doing now and would love to be able to put it up here for everyone to see... Problem is, I have no clue how to put it here. Could you let me know if you would like it here and how to put it up? Thanks.

  • Ok i did a bit of research i found this on youtube instructions to render power point slideshow through the preinstalled windows standard movie maker.Type into youtube this

PowerPoint to YouTube using Windows Movie Maker

let my know how you get on audio if music try universal music group songs they claim and place an add all in agreement.

  • the bushfire has caught my heart

  • when they definately know who the person is, i hope they tie his hands together and burn his fingers until he screams to the high heavens. that would only be a touch of what he has done to so many people, wildlife, and beautiful landscape. i know that is cruel but ....

  • que terrible incendio, cuantos animales ha muerto sin contar las personas, lo lamento mucho. Pero como siempre hay esperanza.

  • Its pretty bad what the fires have done, and to think some were deliberately lit . . . my town was lucky to be missed and not whipped out like Kinglake and Merysvil, it was a hit and miss.

But what's not really heard of is the firefighters and their stories, my dad who's been fighting the fires since they started Saturday, said that it was unreal and like nothing else he had ever seen or heard.

I hope people realize that in six months time the bush will be greener then before. Its still sad

  • Its nice to see that some of our wildlife was able to escape the fires, i only hope they fared much better then is rumored

  • Make sure you become a fan of the 'Sam the Koala' page of Facebook! (the one with the most fans).

  • thank god for the generosity and selflessness of our volunteers. heroes, every one of them.

  • It is amazing how Thirsty that Koala is, no wonder he was just wandering around disorientated, I guess they normally get the moisture from the leaves but with the fires, no leaves no drink!

That picture of the guy giving the water to the Koala has zipped around the world, I guess it is a sad reminder of what he have lost, the Koala a national symbol and the burnt out trees and ground around it! Sort of makes it hit home to alot of people, World Wide too!

  • Just melts my heart

  • Thank God for ppl like David and all the other emergency workers .

  • Well said

  • Joy and Love is always possible.

  • Brings tears to my eyes that someone or more started these fires and so many people and animals died...this video brings hope for the ones that did survive, but it never should have happened in the first place!!! My heart goes out to the animals the most because they are so innocent and have no voice to even call out for help...

  • Well said.

  • I'm pretty sure just about everyone's seen the Koala and roo photos taken around Adelaide and now Victoria. These critters are so tired and desperate they forget about being scared etc.. I wonder if they somehow figure that the humans might help them..but more likely too tired to run.

181 people have died, and millions of critters.. I remember the Royal Nat' park after the big fires..the quiet.. that total lack of noise... so sad.

  • Its is very sad indeed.

  • I gave a possum a drink from my hose on the saturday. It was absolutely rooted from the heat of the day. Found it curled up in a corner just outside my back door. Tricked some water on its tail and it didn't move and then held it up to his mouth and he was drinkin like mad. He then got up so I gave him a squirt all over and he was then feeling so much better. Walked between my feet to a tree and climbed up and went to sleep. That Koala would of been a lot thirstier than the possum. Nice work!

  • Well done you are a hero to just like this fella. Hopefully something will shine on you for helping the possum.

  • Poor thing would of been so dehydrated

  • Indeed 3 bottles of water thats a lot of water.

  • Especially considering that Koala's rarely drink. They get what water they need from the Eucalyptus Trees and rarely go down to a watering hole to have a drink. They feel safer in the trees where most predators can't get to them. I have to say that since Black Saturday, for that 1st week I found it so hard to watch the news without going into severe depression and crying like crazy. I think most of us did the same. But seeing the hope that has come out of the loss is uplifting.

  • I would love to meet this man, what a wonderful human being :) this video is my most favourite!!!!!

  • He reminds me of steve irwin.

  • i can't stop crying this is so amazing thank you for sharing it.

  • Yes it got me a little bit to.
