  • 13:02 PSU under load before power up! Why?

  • Can someone tell me what all the paint that were used on the acrylic part and the reason as well and ty to bill owen and modmen for making it you are awesome

  • @1997fsx, BULLDOG Adhesion Promoter

  • i was going to leave my new 400r alone but after watching these videos...lol i'll almost have to do something besides leaving it alone..instead ha ha

  • I love you guys, this stuff is all so awesome to watch. Ill be giving custom painting my haf 912 a shot on Monday once it arrives and I've gone over it, wish me luck!

  • hey have you guys ever used the snap on triggers for spray paint? they work great and they are cheap! it gets to be rough on the joints in your fingers after all that pressing when you spray paint normally :)

  • yeah I'm going to buy an old pc case and mod it.

Your videos are very inspirational thx :) i subbed and like it and fav it :) :)

  • painting mentor, graduated from rattlecans.

  • "oOoOOO! YOU HAVE THE RADIOACTIVE MEMORY, BOND. HAND IT OVER."

  • I hate that frostbyte heatspreader. That thing comes off easily.

  • I hate it when that mod men sound effect comes in unexpectedly....it keeps scaring the shit out of me...

  • pretty #awesome

  • Awesome series.

  • The only one who disliked this can shove that mouse he disliked with straight up his ass!

  • 1 Dislike?... He must own a Mac #FAIL

  • great show, keep it up !

  • Is that snow?

  • Great show; keep it up!

  • Question Anyone Know how to Metal Flake White?

trying find one for my next build

  • How about "Welcome to Mod Men, where voiding your warrenty, is our specialty"

  • Why use acrylic instead of aluminium or metal, when it's going to be painted? has it anything do do with the look, or does it only help on the weight?

    Great fan Bill!

    - Th

  • was there any further sanding after putting the primer on the case?

  • mod "soda?" I would expect better from someone from Minnesota

  • Why have the PSU under load while you start it up? I've been using the jumper trick for years, and haven't heard of this. Every PSU I've looked at has had atleast one built in fan, so wouldn't that suffice?

  • Sat part 4 before part 3, but no worries as they are all AWESOME!

    Love what you are doing

  • The videos you guys make really do empower the average PC enthusiast to take it to the next level. Thank you so much!

Also, what an amazingly easy way to test power supplies!

  • The mod men case looks like what you would get if a high end gaming computer had a love child with an Xbox 360.

  • Thanks guys :) I love these videos! So awesome.

  • Awesome show! I like stuff like the painting how to that we can do ourselves. so will these shows come every tuesday or something?

  • So the show is good, but really 4 episodes to do a pc build is ridiculous. Also people want to see builds and such that they can do themselves. Not everyone has access to a mill machine for crazy cut outs and such.

  • UGHH!! The new YouTube format keeps hiding your videos!!!!

  • I will have to paint my 800D eventually. I'll probably do some practice on some older cases first. Thanks for the guide + tips guys

  • Now I cant wait to see what you come with for you custom cpu block, are you going to custom make a gpu block also?

  • 0:30 for skipping intro. sorry monster mawd

  • and most importantly a miller light

  • Everything is cool except the monkey disturbing ... you should keep it away or do it other way.

  • Greatest series yet! Keep up the good work!

  • i know :) looks like a great case mod! hehe, i dont like cap head screws either. excited to see whats nexts

  • @mattluvsvox921, Wrong. Clear cases were popular 10 years ago.

  • Great videos. Spreading the word!

  • @merus, Thank you merus! we would love to do another season after these, all of the help counts!

  • Love these vids. Full of tips and help without being arsey. Nice one chaps.

  • @dtsmucker, they edited out all of my arsey parts...lol, Thank you for watching and commenting!

  • hell yea. ---you guys kick ass.alot of great mods, pointers and tips.

  • @dartavian74, glad you like it, Thank you for watching and commenting!

  • Wot no sanding?! That is a great finish! One question - What would happen if you used an ordinary primer instead of a self-etching primer?

  • @PGTMan, wouldn't stick onto the metal as well, pretty sure UK has self etching primer

  • @MonsterMawd I thought that might be the case and might explain why I didn't quite get the durable finish I wanted on my last mod! Yup, I've managed to source some self-etching primer over here (it tends to be called etch primer or acid etch primer) - they are a local company too! I assume you cant use self-etch on plastic and should instead use a plastic primer or vinyl paint?

  • Man this whole video makes me think computer geek porn.

  • Beer is important too, but miller light? D: Sorry I'm from the state of beer and cheese so I had to say it.

Is it really pronounced "mooshkin"? I've always pronounced it like munchkin, but with the sh replacing the nch. Kind of reminds me of the multiple ways I've heard people say ASUS.

  • @t3hsniper, wasn't my beer, but made funnier prop than can of V8 juice

  • I love the channel!

To bad I dont have too much friends to spread the word... :/

  • @Kaputznefreble, no worries! Thank you for watching and commenting!

  • mushkin OWNS

  • @GenoSkill, we wish they made more products! we would love to do a build for them too!

  • mushkin has some nice stuff

i wish i could see it when its all done ..waiting suxs .. waiting on new egg right now ..ahahah

thanks for the power supply tip

  • @5british5, only couple more episodes is all, Thank you for watching and commenting!

  • I love the brushed aluminium finish too much to paint it over. xD

Nice work again, keep it up!

  • @Tyrtru, ahh well.... you can see the finished case in the promo clip we did, Thank you for watching and commenting!

  • Wow, what a great show. What really makes this show is the D.Y. part.

  • @airsoftmasters, the DIY seems to be what you guys like the most, and we enjoy sharing it... So maybe PBS instead of the G4 network?

  • great show, and good tips :-)

  • Hey guys! first off, Great show! keep it up! next is a request. You've shown off how to paint a Fugly ass mouse to a PC case. Can you guys show how to paint a PC monitor? Thanx! looking forward to watch more of this.

  • @elektra54, just follow the same steps, but skip the "self etching" primer and use "Flexible primer" as basecoat, before color coat... OR skip primer altogether and use KRYLON brand Fusion paint for Plastic.

  • Great episode! My only suggestion would be to make a half an hour episode so they can show more.

  • @xion237, if we can get more people to watch, we can ask for a bigger budget and do that.. Please spread the word for us about the show!

  • Maybe is a stupid question, but when you are sanding a Case, u need to remove all the LAYERS of the ORIGINAL Paint or just a few of them?

  • @oreno11 that is 4 the new primer to get better grip no matter if its plastic metal or paint underneath,

pro 's just do so .

  • @oreno11 I imagine you only need to sand until you remove the top layer of material, so you have effectively sanded down to a new "layer" of the surface so its nice and clean, not worn.

I doubt you have to sand out all of the paint, seeing as how the tutorial in this video, it wasn't sanded all the way down to the grey aluminum.

  • @oreno11, that is false. You only need to scuff the surface.

  • I'm so happy this happened. Best show ever.

  • @thornygravy, Thank you for being a loyal viewer, since day 1 gravy!

  • hi mod men can you do an episode on tinting Acrylic

  • @rozorahk, no need to, just buy "smoked" acrylic

  • Great episode with lots of wonderful tip.. I cant get over how awesome the editing and graphics are!!

  • @RONLEEC1, when do I fly out to your place and see your awesome build Ron? ;-)

  • Enjoyable as always. Can't wait to see the finished PC!

  • @iceveiled, it's going to be amazing...

  • now thats what ive been looking for, how to pait a case lol thank you so much :-)

  • @maxpower285, that has been one of the most popular requests before doing the series.

  • @MonsterMawd lol yea coz no where on the internet actually showes you how to do any of this stuff, thats why youir vids are so dam awesome, i so wanna get into doing this sort of thing :-)

  • This is my favorite episode yet. I love seeing the build come together. Great tips for hotwiring a PSU. Oh and tell Brad to finish the drywall in his paint studio!

  • @supertroye. LOL, it;s getting there..... we've been SUPER busy.

  • what is the name of the brand of your mask? I got one and I could still smell the paint while wearing the mask.

  • @SilatGayongTiger, 3M with filtered canister

  • @MonsterMawd thanks

  • another Awesome show! you should pitch your show to G4.tv and sy-fi channel.

  • @skr101274, hopefully more people will spread the word about "Mod Men" so we can show networks like G4 it's a viable show.

  • you got the memory from japan ? ^^

  • Please spread the word about "Mod Men" to your friends, so we can do another season!

  • @MonsterMawd Can do. Will do. Done!

Looking great so far guys, can't wait to see what you come up with next :)

  • @Chrispy89 , Awesome!! Thank you for watching and commenting too!

  • @MonsterMawd spread it over a load of hardware forums im on should bring in a load keep up the good work fella

  • damn i love this stuff.... bill owen "mawdgawd" ;D

  • @bobletiss, Thank you for watching and commenting!

  • Great Job Again.

You should power up and use the dell in the window.

(Then mod the case while it is still on the window LOL)

  • @HONEYCHOK, stay tuned....

  • love the show so far, just wish it was longer :(

  • @royce321, if we can get enough people watching, we can ask for bigger budget to lengthen the episodes.

  • Awesome videos, guys! Love the modding tips, the builds, the humor, everything! Bring on the next episode!

  • @ThatAJAwesome, on Tuesday! Thank you for watching and commenting too!

  • i'm reallyl enjoying these videos. cant wait for the next one

  • @mvp7747, Thank you for watching and commenting!

  • I wear the same mushkin hat

  • @Tehscottinator, it's awesome, their swag is the best I've seen to date

  • Ive always had my psu under load when testing but since nowadays they all have fans on the psu I wonder if it still needs a load... hmm... Loved the show keep em coming!

  • very nice, cant wait for the next show!

  • series coming in too slow... :-( ....GUESS we have to wait for each "product placement"..*cough cough* to arrive and be moved into place

  • @Drebln893

First of all you do realize these mods take hours to even a week to complete especially if there's paint involved. And the show needs to be at least 10-15 minutes in length so they cant show just 1 piece at a time. It actually makes sense to do the show bi-monthly to give those of us with small attention spans a lot to look at. They want to show us professional work not something on the fly and sloppy. I happen to like the product placement myself since I also build custom PC's.

  • @Cykotr0n ...good points. Think I will view this the way I would expect T.V scheduling. Love this show

  • @Drebln893, huh?

  • how come this didn't come into my sub box??????????

  • @SirGomez81 mine neither. I basically resubbed.

  • @SirGomez81, noticed that too, I don't know what the deal is either...

  • Excellent looking and presented show guys. It could easily be just another show, but you guys know your audience and your art. Well done! Keep them coming!

  • @idontgiveafork, appreciate that, Thank you! ....the trick is how do we break out to mainstream w/o reality show BS?.....

  • aaaahhhh, I should of waited to paint my case!. oh well. it still looks good!

  • nice ... hide your beer ... lol

  • unfortunately the intro by bill at the very start is a no show compared to the last 2, do some more funneh stuff!!

  • @ipullstuffapart, small budget....heh

  • I like how that "tape of the gawds" rig is running on Windows...

  • nice ..........

  • if your going to have a "PC on your window" you mine as well use it

  • This is getting better with each episode. Great series!

  • discovery needs you.

  • @thundermonty YES!

  • thanks for the power supply tip!!! i've always wondered how to test fans on my mods without a motherboard!! YES!!!

  • @jad3948, I use it all of the time, just leave it on my workbench...:)

  • great vid :P

  • nice show, keep it coming

  • Not sure why they used a black ice rad.. high FPI which would require higher rpm/cfm fans to get the most cooling. It seems that case mod would want to be more silent. Why not have gotten a low FPI and just a tad thicker rad?

    I love watching these though.

  • @tlxxxsracer, don't let the radiator thickness ruin your day....

  • whats the color you used? its amazing.

  • I LOVE MODMEN <3

  • Still loving this show.

  • If you don't have room for a external PSU to power fans, I've wired a 12V transformer from a phone charger to a standard 3-speed case fan. This means I have an external case fan cooling my external drives, which has 3 speeds and can be turned off with a rocker switch - very helpful.

  • Another great Show Bill ... its really getting going now buddy ... and looking forward to the next ... I like the way the custom build is coming along ... seems to be fitting together quite nicely ...

  • Pure gold again Bill!

  • Another good show....

Thanks for the tips and tricks......

  • How does he not have cuts all over his hands? I get cuts just putting together my pc.

  • @Sludacris8, huh?

  • @Sludacris8 I get cuts on my hands just doing basic wiring and water-cooling installs. How do you not have cuts and calluses when you do all these crazy mods? Of course most of the cuts I get are after drinking and being pissed off when I screw up sleeving my wires..

  • Mushkin are appearing everywhere nowadays. Everyone seems to have good things to say about them! Great products Mushkin! :)

  • @MyRandomReviews, they've been in the industry for years. They've just changed their marketing strategy for the better.

  • Great stuff!

  • ok does anyone thing is need to be long like a 30 min - one hour worth? because i can't get enough of this show

  • error-thing = think

  • @rigthegear, haha, if we can get more viewers, we can convince the producers to give us a bigger budget and do that....

  • dude upload the next one i cant wait great show

  • This is everything I wanted and more :D great job Bill and the team... keep it up

  • @nategeorge22, you have the talent! go out there and do it!
