Made for ABC-TV back in 1986,it shows a fictional Soviet invasion and conquest of America,but the REAL axis helicopters would be Hind-24D Gunships-heavily armed hulks with plenty of machine guns,anti-tank weapons and rockets. Go watch "Red Dawn",you know there'll be plenty of young rebels setting up Resistance groups to fight the Russians and thier darn gunships and tanks.
Not to mention that any maneuvers flown by those two modified Gazelles would be unsafe. When Roy Scheider said 'This thing is nose-heavier than the Ayatollah' in 'Blue Thunder', he wasn't kidding.
I love the miniseries specially with the fleet of Blue thunders,one more thing the russians didn't invade the fascist here invaded them in..essentially we became the new badguys.
What's interesting, is they kept the Blue Thunder Gazelles together in hangar somewhere for 3 years after they stopped filming Blue Thunder the TV series until they used them in Amerika
@wreaksatansday
Of course they are proud of this vision of Amerika, they want us to lived in the totalianism states.

Trying to conserve your ammunition through unsafe maneuvers is bad strategy.

Especially when ammunition costs less than fuel does!
