  • Now, if we can just get people who want to protect bluebirds to be more aggressive. Meaning, there are still people who just won't accept that starlings/house sparrows are the very worst enemies of our native species. They expect to just "shoo away" these flying pestilence, when it actually takes destroying these "birds" to alleviate the problem. I won't waste my time "shooing". I eradicate so I can get on with my life, and don't have to worry about them anymore.

  • The handful of nest parasites is not something from kenny's colony. They added that shot later - the narrator mentions nest mites but what they show is a handful of ticks instead. You would never find ticks in a martin nest like that. Nest mites are very tiny, and won't bite people.

  • i love this video i put up some gourds last year and got 5 pairs lots of babies fledged but i noticed some werent able to fly good because of nest mites made them fledge early this year i designed a gourd rack that raises and lowers to do nest checks!

  • Wow Bob, maybe you should share with us the gourd curing, what kind of gourd and stuff like that. My Martin house was near $500. But what a delight, this year we finally scored three couple. It's an amazing thing to hear these couples talk to each other. PS we had to lower the rent and throw one month in free, but they finally came. God bless you and God bless them.

  • if youthink this is cool ive accutly have been to his house 2 times

  • This is sweet, I can't believe he can take the babies out and replace the nests
