There is plenty of evidence a dead body had been in their holiday apartment-and not in Murats' and any other holiday apartment. Of course the "smell of death" may not have emanated from Madeleine. There is no evidence whatsoever to suggest that an abductor entered the apartment and took Madeleine from her bed. Jane Tanner's sighting cannot be regarded as evidence.

I've spoken to a DCI in charge of a burglary squad and what he's told me is the first thing a burglar does is create a secondary escape route or lock a likely entry point used by the occupants, ie, open a window or put the latch on the front door.
This abduction was no different, the intruder entered via an insecure back door, opened the window, picked up Maddie and left.
I was almost convinced they did it until I started wondering about the fact that there is no body, and Gerry was not 'missing' when the police arrived. IF Madeleine had fallen and broken her neck/hit her head behind the sofa, and Gerry panicked and ran away with her and was supposedly seen doing so...how did he get rid of the body so quickly, and so well that it would never be found, and get back to the apartment in time to be interviewed by the police. @DonsWinger it's quite logical to me why steps would be taken to ensure that Madeleine's body would never be found. Not unprecedented in missing person/murder cases. It may not have been him who disposed of her body. Even if it was him, there was plenty of time for Gerry to get back to the apartment . I think a better question to ask is how did this "abduction" happen? The abductor entered through an open door then exited with Madeleine through a three-foot high small window.? Unlikely.

I would think parents would be too distraught, heartbroken, devastated to even consider getting lawyers to defend them. parents are always looked at in any kind of child tragedy - once police see there is no foul play they are not under suspicion. But what he will say is why would Mark Harrison recommend the dogs if they were unreliable.
What I've tried to say is that they are not tools that prove cases. They are there to offer areas of interest.

What must to be take into account is that it really doesn't matter how much evidence there is, the McCanns have been shielded by the might of the British government. How can two obscure child neglectors get so much support? Mr. McCann is a member of the Scottish knights templar, as is PM of the time Gordon Brown. McCann got help from Brown and MI5 became involved. Much of the evidence Amaral found has been blocked. Scotland yard were amazed at the time that MI5 became so involved in the case.

There is plenty of evidence a dead body had been in their holiday apartment-and not in Murats' and any other holiday apartment. Of course the "smell of death" may not have emanated from Madeleine. There is no evidence whatsoever to suggest that an abductor entered the apartment and took Madeleine from her bed. Jane Tanner's sighting cannot be regarded as evidence.

The simple fact is Madeleine was abducted, anything else is just speculation.
I've spoken to a DCI in charge of a burglary squad and what he's told me is the first thing a burglar does is create a secondary escape route or lock a likely entry point used by the occupants, ie, open a window or put the latch on the front door.
This abduction was no different, the intruder entered via an insecure back door, opened the window, picked up Maddie and left.

I was almost convinced they did it until I started wondering about the fact that there is no body, and Gerry was not 'missing' when the police arrived. IF Madeleine had fallen and broken her neck/hit her head behind the sofa, and Gerry panicked and ran away with her and was supposedly seen doing so...how did he get rid of the body so quickly, and so well that it would never be found, and get back to the apartment in time to be interviewed by the police. I hope you post this comment ..

@DonsWinger it's quite logical to me why steps would be taken to ensure that Madeleine's body would never be found. Not unprecedented in missing person/murder cases. It may not have been him who disposed of her body. Even if it was him, there was plenty of time for Gerry to get back to the apartment . I think a better question to ask is how did this "abduction" happen? The abductor entered through an open door then exited with Madeleine through a three-foot high small window.? Unlikely.

The abductor(s) would have had about three minutes to carry out this "abduction" between the "checks" by the Tapas 9. How would they know the apartment was unlocked? There would be little or no forensic evidence left at the scene and owing to no CCTV or independent witnesses, you can kiss bye bye to this case being solved. The only way of solving this case is by criminal inteligence.
The investigation led by the PJ focused on one opinion of Amaral. This was where it all went wrong.
Yes, I agree with houghgree2, there are 1000's of people that think her parents were responsible.

What also needs to be considered is how people refer to burglary. A break in, breaking and entering or forcing the door or window.
One of Kates first statements mentioned a break in, they've forced the window and they've taken her.
Should she have said, they've entered through the patio door, opened a window, taken maddie and left through the front door?
That to me would have been a suspicious comment.
Not what 99.9% refer to having someone break in.

My own feeling is that the vast majority of people are not interested in this case and are fed up of hearing about it. She gave the game away by not even considering the possibilty that Madeleine had wandered out of the apartment. "I know that Madeleine would not have done that" And also not shouting from the balcony down to her Tapas friends that Madeleine was not there. The forensics expert Paulo Sargento and the criminoligst Moita Flores concurred. The latter two also said that it was an impossibility for an abductor to have left through the window. With regards to how many believe the McCanns and many do not, it is difficult to calculate. However, if the majority do believe the McCanns CONTINUED.

It was every night that the McCanns left the children in the apartment and the McCanns have used this fact to advance their version of events i.e "We were being watched". I higlight this because supporters of the McCanns often repeat the mantra "They made a mistake". -which might have some credibility had they only have left their siblings on the night of the "abduction". the door was unlocked. The three minutes is the time between Gerry's check and when Jane Tanner claims to have saw a man carrying a child. He must have been pretty sharp. Another one of the Tapas crowd checked at 9.30 and never noticed the window open. And as Spudgunne highlights in this film Gerry McCann never noticed Jane Tanner even though she was in the same vicinity nor a man carrying child. For my money it is the McCann's versions of events that is "weak and ineffectual"
