  • @FonzieTheCreator it depends on what competiton. In Pride it was allowed (now it doesnt exist, bought and dissolved by UFC, damn monopoly), in UFC you cant.

  • @derangedbanana yes you can, but it will be hard on your wrists because on the focus pads, there is going to be a "give" every time you make contact. with a heavy bag, you are more prone to jar your wrists. if they are properly wrapped though, and have bag gloves, you should do fine I guess

  • Actually Scott you are doing the sprawl wrong. Your toes should be aligned with the floor, otherwise it's too easy for your opponent to push you back up :)

  • Is it better to get down to a low body fat % say like 9% or 8% and start training with weights. Or have like 12% or 13% bodyfat and train with weight instead of getting rid of that extra 5% body fat? I have a 4 pack and its starting to turn into a 6 but its not visible only 2 of the 6 muscles are visible.

  • @sportdrinkfruitpunch depends on what you want to do. If you want to get bigger, you're spinning your wheels being 5% bodyfat and trying to gain muscle mass. 12-13% is pretty much ideal for gaining mass. If you want a 6-pack and dont really care about size, obviously you need to shoot for a low body percentage. I'm no expert, but that is just my experience, my muscle mass shoots up whenever my body fat percentage is a little bit higher.

Any sport that has the type of contact every martial art has has the potential to wear on your joints and likely will, by the way. You have a lot to learn.

  • Also you would want to drive your shine right into your opponent and kick slightly at an angle/Diagonally either lower or higher.

  • Keep your heel flat for low and mid kicks, Step out with your left foot more and thrust your hip forward and lean back. Also keep your guard up with your right hand and swing your left hand a little more....<This is for your right kicks.

    When kicking on the spot swing your damn left hand more and keep your guard up and remember to shuffle before that left kick.

  • The 540 and 720 should never be used in actual combat, they're for demonstrations....Trust me, i'm a black belt in TaeKwonDo, and i've seen it happen.

Do boxers sit there spinning there fists in circles hitting an opponent in the head the way they do a punching bag, obviously not. Its about helping a boxer condition themselves to keeping their arms raised in front of their face to block punches. Likewise, doing the sort of punches Scott is doing is a great conditioning exercise. People who use their upper body a lot like conductors live longer.

  • I think we can all use a little MMA Training, acts of crime & Acts of violence happen every day. In fact, I just read about a 20 year old man that was attacked after exiting a gay Club in Salt Lake City about a week ago. What's strikking about the crime against this young man isn't that he is gay, but how violent it was. The 4 thugs yelled anti-gay expletives at him, & then knocked him to the ground, punched him in the face braking his jaw.

  • These thugs then placed his jaw against the curb so his teeth touched the curb, so when they kicked the back of his head, not only were 6 teeth knocked out, but part of his shattered jaw was driven into his brain. The thugs only ran when they saw police. The police nor the ambulance drivers helped this man, so he was driven to hospital by some friends. I think we should always take a verbal insult as a threat, as you never know when it will lead to a robbery, hate crime, etc. So, the MMA is A+
