  • Did Gorlla Monsoon say Albano was on Queer Street? Classic!

  • How'd snuka win?!?!

  • RIP captain. we miss you mario

  • i met capt.lou in nj, he was doin a signing at a burgerking... miss the captain!

  • Whenever Vince describes a muscular wrestler's physique, it sounds like he's pitching a tent in his pants when he's doing it.

  • Captain Lou was so much better as a heel manager.

  • this match is crap with a capital C

  • That was one of the best superfly dives ever

  • Lou didn't sell anything

  • I met capt.lou at a burgerking signing, he was awsome!

  • Albano did not sell Snukas blows at all!

  • I love the sales buildup of Albano.

    "Albano at 330-340 lbs"

    "He's listed at 285"

    "He's well over 300 lbs"

5 minutes later, "The 800 pound Albano....."

  • what the hell is gilberto roman wearing?

  • Superfly was SO bad ass, then in 91, Undertaker obliterated him, and never saw Jimmy again 8(

  • 285 pounds my foot

  • Lou should've done the mario

  • 6:05-6:06,"He's got a knife!!!!"

  • Jimmy Superfly was a awesome wrestler and awesome althlete.

  • I was there and I sat in the second row near ringside.

  • Albano cuts himself with that blade like he is Scratching a Lottery ticket.... My God!!

  • I was at this match with my dad. I'll never forget it. Snuka is a legend!

  • Pause it at 8:57

  • An I thought the Orton punt on Cena during Hell in A Cell was bad

    Ain't got nothing on this

This is up there with hogan-warrior Halloween Havoc 98

    just terrible

  • JON?????

    idk match is long

  • R.I.P.,Gorilla Monsoon.

  • WOW...This was my first WWF match live!!

  • this could have been the most boring wrestling match EVER

  • u can see how albano blades himself

    Albano rip

    JON

  • @Falkowski82 240p?

    I can't see shit :(

  • @MrV902

    open ur eyes

    JON

  • God Bless Capt. Lou and Gorilla Monsoon, two great men in wrestling and in real life. Great memories and fun watching these guys.

  • Capt. Lou was the only WWF manager that worked a semi regular schedule. Albano was an aweful worker, but his matches were not supposed to be about great ring work, but about fans getting to see Albano finally getting paid back for his evil deeds.

  • HELL IF THEY COULD DO A RICKY STEAMBOAT DVD WHY CAN'T THEY DO A JIMMY SNUKA DVD I'LL DIE HAPPILY ONCE THEY DECIDE TO PUT THAT OUT.

  • Albano's the greatest sportsman in wrestling history...but holy cow, he's *clearly* drunk in this match and NOT fit to perform because of it.

  • Did you hear the one story in wrestling magazines Paul Heyman told I think it was him. He said they weregoing to be late for the card at MSG in the winter and the car broke down so Albano & Snuka got out Albano had only cutoffs on a Hawiian shirt & flipflops they had to run to make the card.

  • lou albano one of the best managers and behind the scenes contributer the wwe has ever had i will state my reason if needed

  • do the mario looks more realistic...

  • Observations:

1.Albano could generate heat just by mowing his lawn

2.Monsoon could sell sand to an Arab or fleas to a dog. He could put anyone or anything 'over'.

  • As bad as this match was which was mainly due to Captain Lou being completely drunk that Superfly Splash from Snuka at the end was awesome

  • @IATM29 I think in an interview that Heyman did he was taking some pills to stop him from drinking that made him throw up I guess Lou's wife made him stop drinking or she was divorcing him

  • If WWE did release a DVD set they not only could use the WWE stuff, but the stuff from Mid Atlantic and maybe Georgia. I would love to see a full match between Flair and Snuka espcially the US title matches.

  • @Sargebri Will the WWE never release a DVD on Jimmy Superfly Snuka?

  • The ropes were way too loose!

His leaps were much higher when they actually took two minutes to make the ring!

  • The Stone Cold vs Eric Bischoff match is a shameless copy of this legendary event.

Both were great, but Snuka was the originator!

  • This is so stupid, how do people enjoy watching this?

  • @maceuz Your so stupid how do ppl enjoy talking to you? Oh, I guess they don't.

  • Lou Albano apparently never missed a meal

  • @gilchris112

LOL. Yeah, he was very heavy those days, but lost a lot of weight about 10 years later.

A shame he passed away recently. He was a great manager and personality in the WWF.

  • carmel, ny???????????? lol

  • hercules vs. the pillsbury dough boy lmao

  • who are the announcers?

  • @bluegreedo

    Vince McMahon and Gorilla Monsoon.

  • As much as I loved Captian Lou, he was a HORRIBLE wrestler. Obvious blading, no reaction to head butts, punches, chops...why bother, it just was a horrible match.

  • @poppedcollars It was'nt supposed to be a good match, evenVince said in the commentary that it was a mismatch. The appeal of the match was in seeing the Capt. Lou get his comeuppance for cheating Snuka out of his money.

  • 4:17 is the blading.

  • He must have been drunk.

  • At 7:12 THAT would've killed him if wrestling was real. Super Mario vs. Superfly!

  • this doesnt look even remotely close to real

  • Lou Albano was terrible. Jimmy Snuka was a unique character, but way overrated. Living in NYC in the 80's I got to see him wrestle live a lot, and it was always the same thing. Someone show me a match where he goes 15-20 minutes and actually does some moves. Headbutt, punch, chop, headbutt, punch, chop, headbutt...

  • @JohnnyBakery in pro wrestling they all have their little gimmicks and do them over and over again what you said about Snuka applies to Ric Flair and Hogan same moves over and over and over again. Pro wrestling is for kids it's all a game and a bunch of gimmicks

  • WOW, what a great flash back...I remember when Snuka turned clean, and Buddy Rogers took him on as his manager. It was still best when Snuka was a bad guy and Cap't Lou actually brought him out in a cage(anyone remember that) Snuka was da man back then....so great to see these old matches

  • RON JEREMY was a wrestler???

  • WOW Lou SUCKED as a worker in this match! Non selling the blows then BLADING in front of the world to see! LMAO! Lou was probably Blasted..

  • @elchicho25 They didn't hide it so much because the fans weren't "smart" to it yet. Look at the infamous Larry Zybysko turn on Bruno Sammartino and Bruno's blading job is so unbelievably obvious too. But, that's how it was then

  • I'm...............................speechless.

  • Is it me, or do you hear someone yelling "Take it out! Take it out!" right after Albano did that OBVIOUS bladejob??? Someone was telling him to take the blade out of his wrist tape I believe.

  • That was Albano Yelling.

  • Does anybody remember Capt Lou Albano managing a wrestler named Mighty Joe Thunder? If so, do you know what happened to him and who he was?

  • Horrible match. Rest in peace, Captain Lou.

  • Back in the day, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka was awesome!

  • That was awful oh god

  • Worst...Blade...Job....EVER!

  • That is what it suppose to be, he did that on purpose because it was so horrible it's funny

  • Uh...No. This was the in the Kayfabe days when nobody was supposed to know about things like "Blading". It certainly was NOT on purpose. It was actually THAT bad

  • Snuka should have been disqualified. Your winner - CAPTAIN LOUIS ALBANO! :-)

  • The guy with Snuka is Buddy Rogers

  • Whoever set the ring is a real jerk!

THose ropes are WAY too loose

Good way to get somebody hurt

  • snuka rocks!!!

  • you ain't neva lied...that physique speaks supremacy

  • superfly snuka rocks!

  • Whenever Albano would have these periodic grudge matches (while he was a manager) who would usually lose.

However, he would never lose by pin fall or submission. Was it because the suits thought that if he ever lost by pin or submission he would lose his stride as a very over heel manager?

Or was it just a coincidence that the outcome of his matches were scripted this way?

  • @MALANGA1 The idea was to make him look like a coward, which was how most "heel" wrestlers and managers worked back in the old days (cowardice = heat). Courageous heels are still a relatively new concept from over the past 20 years. When Albano wrestled back then, he ALWAYS bled and always ran out of the ring and back to the locker room. Standard operating procedure. (I know this is in response to a year old post, but I had to comment.)

  • @elc1960 True. Cowardice was a common heel characteristic in those days. It's funny how when a face would turn heel he would all of the sudden adopt those traits.

  • @MALANGA1 Funny how I seem to keep running into you on these wrestling video posts. We've got to stop meeting like this - people will begin to suspect (LOL). About the "face turning into heel" comment: how true that is, and the opposite when a heel would turn face; they would all of a sudden "grow a set" and start acting like a brave, bold super hero. "Champion of the oppressed" and all that.

  • In my opinion, Albano hits like a female! NO WONDER he lost the match!

  • thxs lou, miss you always, some was fake but to be bleeding real blood it takes alot to do and we know you always love to perform for the fans, you made my childhood fun

  • RIP Lou Albano

  • Sorry to hear that Lou is now on Hospice care. Lou, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaasome post. I remember this so well.

  • Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I am 36 yrs. old..... and I HAVE NEVER SEEN the match between Superfly and Capt. Lou after Superfly got piled drived. If you have the match with Superfly against Ray the Crippler.... post that.

  • Ditto

    And Ditto

Great great gem I thought was lost

  • I saw this match on Channel 9 at around 11:30 PM or so. This was the best "Superfly" ever because on the TV you saw Snuka's chest land directly on Albano's chest and you saw the impact - it was awesome - I thought Albano was dead

  • it almost looks like Snuka has the blade...nope. Lou cuts big at the 3:50 mark. 1st he moved the tape out of the way...another slice at 3:57...another at 4:10...again at 4:46...again at 5:18....this is a strange match. that Superfly splash looked very stiff indeed. The crowd seemed bored up to that point and the match went way too long. Normally a manager has to lay the blade deeper because of the no sweat factor. sweating helps the juice look more serious.

  • i have never liked Vince McMahon but he has always been good at giving people want they want. This is what they wanted. i read about this in PWI when i was a kid, i had never actually seen this match before.

  • Unbelievable, I thought Capt. Lou had this one!

  • Oh my goodness!!!

  • Gorilla Monsoon: "Albano's on queer street"....". LOL!

Yeah, I've never seen a match with more obvious blading done. What was he thinking?

  • Even though as a 10 year old at the time I never doubted the authenticity of pro wrestling and I was certainly glad Snuka was gonna get revenge,I still thought this match was just so horribly one sided! I couldnt understand why Albano would agree to it. Snuka was gonna KILL him! LOL! How could that fat slob Lou Albano win a match agains the Superfly?!?!?! Those were the days.

  • OMG How many times is he going to cut himself??

  • This fat ass should have been fired over the shitty blade jobs!

  • here comes the bloodbath

  • augh that big set o tit on lou.. aughyeah

    fuker turns me on...

  • how could referree gilberto roman not feel his knife during the intro-guess he was feeling something else.

  • Oh, man at 6:05 you can hear a guy say, "Jimmy, he's got a knife!" Man, Albano was bad....

  • I remember this feud clearly.

    Talk about exposing the product.

Secondly, thank goodness Albano didn't suffer a heart attack or a stroke during or after the match.

  • What a jobber! Snuka should've been able to Albino away in a few seconds.

  • cool match

    thanks for sharing this.
