Just happened to myself, my girlfriend, and about 30-40 other people on a couple message boards we're on trying to get tickets. NONE of us got tickets. We've been trying for four hours now. Christ.
I wanted to see Lady Gaga in Pittsburgh in September. My friend got on their website and endured the same thing you did. She and I both have bad backs so we were hoping to get a seat, so when we needed to we could sit down. Of course they were "sold out" so we and two other friends put together all the money we could afford to get GA tickets, for twice what they were selling for. This show is literally gonna be the death of me.
Finally someone who sees Ticketmaster the way I do. Their bullshit extra charges and Tickets Now... Unfortunately I am a regular customer of their services for sports related events, but thankfully the convenience charge isn't as much as it is for concerts. Concert convenience charges can be $12 more for concerts! Plus an extra $5 for online processing!
Additionally, in terms of my "complaining" -- the patriots who fought the American Revolutionary War all started out by "complaining" about British oppression, Simon Bolivar and Che Guevara could have been called "Latin American complainers" instead of liberators and heroes. Were all the Iranians who protested and died for their rights contesting the recent botched elections over there simply complaining? I know my plight is nothing compared to those, but refusing to see a point? Can't help..
Well, vguiterrez, I cannot argue with the fact that, no, I am not the only person looking for tickets on Ticketmaster. Obviously, you didn't catch the true meaning of this expose -- that Ticketmaster is up to some shady, in-house price-gouging through their TicketsNow subsidiary. As for using an alias to get the tickets I want, well, if you cannot GET INTO THE SYSTEM, that makes your idea a bit ineffective to say the least...
your not the only one looking for tix, why dont you buy tix for example john gabriel or some other no namer and you get front row so you can stop complaining.
Azurite -- thanks for providing a little insight here for all of us left in the dark regarding the inner workings of Ticketmaster. I completely understand the role that TM plays in the sale of tickets...and some of the hardship and heartache for popular tickets like Phish simply cannot be avoided. Oh well, life sucks. HOWEVER, I STILL maintain there is something EXTREMELY suspect about the Tickets Now/Ticketmaster relationship. I mean, tickets being scalped BY a TM company only 7 mins in???
and if any customer called before the event sale, we had to release the call, that say i released about 5 calls, sups were walking around making sure we didnt keep customer on the phone before the presale
i was working the day when tickets went on sale for the gorge at, you have to understand that online is not the only way to buy tickets, there are thous of reps, retail locations, BO that have the same pool of tickets, i had customers literally call in at 12 the automated system already pulled their event up, and reserve them, as far as ticketsnow, TM doesnt set the price of the ticket only the service fee, that is done by the person selling the ticket, TM just provides a website to sell them at

An alternative is desperately needed for both:
TicketMaster / LiveNation and Fandango / MovieTickets.
Last but not least, all of these venues need to be much cleaner, especially the bathrooms and garbage removal.
Really ridiculous to charge so much for substandard service.
