Cheer isn't a sport, it's just a bunch of girls cheering for a REAL sport. There's so much training that goes into it, such as running for miles, such as the pressups, vsits,crunches, because without this, we wouldn't be physically fit to lift someone either the same or twice our own body weight, at some height too. We go through training just as what athletics people do. Difference is, we lift people. So you cannot say it isn't a sport, when really it is

I just started cheer this year! And Im a Jounior(: Woohhoo! I try to dedicate everything I need to for cheer, and tumbling! I just got my front handspring I've been working on it for 2 months on the trampoline and I know! If i push my self I can do it on the ground! I am going to pick up tumbling too! (On the side) Because I do really love it! Even if I am awful! I do not have a background at all on cheer or tumbling in my life! I cant go back to bball or anything. Ireallyhavefalleninlovewcheer!
Ugh, I wish our team was dedicated too. Sure we've only had about ten practices, most people haven't even been to five! We're Grade 8 JV, and we're working towards our uniforms, (bake sales, car washes,) and we've just recently done our first major performance, which was the rugby league finals (we won! :D )
I wish our team was as dedicated as you guys. We only practice for 2 hours a WEEK, and half the people term up late. It's a joke. No wonder we're only level 2.

@aoclearylover1023 In Color Guard you spin flags , in Cheerleading we spin people. Cheerleading is not easy , and until you can do a toe - touch basket , or a double twist down , you shouldn't insult it.

It's not a sport. Cheerleading is a sideshow, a distraction. Real sports involve athletes directly facing off against each other, offense and defense. Soccer, football, baseball, basketball, hockey, tennis- they are all real sports.
Golf, skating, cheerleading, dancing, gymnastics, etc. are not sports. Cheerleading was never a sport. If it were, then they would be called players instead of cheerleaders.

Cheer isn't a sport, it's just a bunch of girls cheering for a REAL sport. Usually the sport everyone is cheering for is a guys team so it's really sexist, but some if the silly cheerleaders are fine with it because they think it's cool and it is their free ticket to sleep with every guy on the football team. There's so much training that goes into it, such as running for miles, such as the pressups, vsits,crunches, because without this, we wouldn't be physically fit to lift someone either the same or twice our own body weight, at some height too. We go through training just as what athletics people do. Difference is, we lift people. So you cannot say it isn't a sport, when really it is

I just started cheer this year! And Im a Jounior(: Woohhoo! I try to dedicate everything I need to for cheer, and tumbling! I just got my front handspring I've been working on it for 2 months on the trampoline and I know! If i push my self I can do it on the ground! I am going to pick up tumbling too! (On the side) Because I do really love it! Even if I am awful! I do not have a background at all on cheer or tumbling in my life! I cant go back to bball or anything. Ireallyhavefalleninlovewcheer!

Ugh, I wish our team was dedicated too. Sure we've only had about ten practices, most people haven't even been to five! We're Grade 8 JV, and we're working towards our uniforms, (bake sales, car washes,) and we've just recently done our first major performance, which was the rugby league finals (we won! :D )

We have practice 6 days a week for 3 hours a day. I've given up dance, baton, and tumbling. Its so hard and it takes more talent that just being able to look "dumb". It takes strength comitment and a lot damn more talent then any sport!!
