  • The imagery during this part in the movie is just...utter beauty!!

  • racist shit

  • I love how he put his foot in his mouth back at the begining, and couldn't even pull it out. Only a complete oaf would consider people who were unconnected from civilization to just be a bunch of 'savages'.

  • GRINNING BOBCAT, Y U GRIN??

  • this song still gives me goosebumps :D

  • I finished the song cover XD

  • This song is a huge part of me ♥

  • Lol its not that deep man..."Historically Accurate" just enjoy the movie

  • I still always look at John Smith at 2:04 when he sees the cub, that he obvious feel regret for almost killing the mother of 3 cubs

  • It doesn't matter if it's your favorite movie or if you say "Pocahontas isn't historically accurate, so I hate it." It's the message that really matters, and how the characters influence you. John Smith grew throughout the movie into a wonderful man. He's still immature, but he proves that people can change for the better. Pocahontas was a headstrong young woman who showed you how to fight for what you believe in. The movie as a whole taught you not to judge by appearances. That's what matters.

  • Two people are self-explainatory idiots.

  • Ha, Mel Gibson as John Smith makes this even better.

  • *memories

  • aww brings back so many.. i was born in the late 90's so i grew up singing these lyrics! :)

  • im a '90s baby

    those were the good days

i rinsed this film when i was small

    LOVE IT!

  • damn you 'americans' for killing the actuall native americans...

this song may remind you how savages you are!!!

  • @linapredator See and thats what is so savage about an outlook that pins down white or coppered skin. Americans sure, but it was human beings in general, and lost ones at that, who destroyed the earth and propagated it's acceptance to look at the earth as if it a dead thing, something that can be waisted, just land to fill with consumerism, debt, and lost dreams.

  • @linapredator well fuck you, this movie is about acpeting other people, be you white, black, Asian, Hispanic and Native American. so i think the savage one is you.

  • @Free28761 Thnx for including Hispanic, people almost always forget us. You know Hispanics are also part Native American.

  • When this song came out, republicans were up in arms about the "liberal propaganda" in this song. They are sooooo UPTIGHT!

  • When I have a kid I will make them watch every cartoon animated Disney movie. Period.

  • 0:30 spidermonkey

  • my mum says that I look like Pocahontas, haha I wish that I did :)

  • From what I've heard this is the deepest and most powerful Disney song.

  • "We've improved the lives of savages all over the world." LOL

  • 2:08 soooooo fantastic lyrics I just love this song since i was 3

  • I am 15 and I will stay a kid for as long as I can. This song is absolutely beautiful. I love it and I never get tired of hearing it. It shows a simpler way to look at life. The BEST way to live life. Staying in touch with Nature is what we are here for. We are nature. We should love and appreciate it. Not tear it down and forget it, just to replace it with tall buildings and cement.

  • Movies like this left children with messages that could help them live by better morals. And fuck all those "illuminati" and "sex" subliminal messages no one noticed them until recently so therefore no ne cares...they left a positive message

  • LIKE IF YOU MISS THE NINETIES!!!!

  • this is why I want to live in the province :)

  • 0:57 for the beginning of the song

  • People need to take these lyrics to their hearts. Humans have grown to live in generations of war and materialism, when we should have lived among our roots to mother earth. That is why 2012 will destroy us and set us back to the savage days to save us from mankind's destruction. Nature will always win and I'm willing to sacrifice my life to save mother earth.

  • @808icetrey Can't agree more.

  • haha pocahontas...the princess who schools civilisation about the wonders of nature

  • times change, there's enough beautiful art being made still, just give it a chance instead of saying that the stuff you know is/was better

  • @Appelsappel you are very right, you just have to know where to look.

  • why can't disney do these kinds of movies anymore? I don't like the 3d computer animation crap :( The cartoons are a lot more creative, and brings the movie in to life a lot better, such as in brother bear, mulan, tarzan, pocahontas and others.. now we have movies with fat, ugly round headed characters :/ although nemo and incredibles were awesome, but they don't have to make ALL the movies computer animated :(

  • @plumpybumpy because Disney knows 2d is seen by outdated by children and think they won't make very much money so they make sure they don't by not working as hard on the 2d features. Think about it Tangled did much better then The Princess and The Frog. Disney got so lazy in the late 90's that if I remember right Anastasia (with all its flaws) did better then whatever Disney threw out to compete with it.

  • 3:34

    CHILLS.

  • Why? why disney,Cartoon network, nick why did you have to fuck everything up Suddenly?

  • this song to this day can teach sooo many people important lessons in life about everything around us.

  • This song still gives me goosebumps :) Thanks for posting.

  • @PokemonLover2111

You need to stop watching LSD before watching Disney movies.

  • This version is way better than Vanessa William's. I don't get how that other girl just took all the credit.

  • @LoboWarriorForever Pinkie Pie: ForEVEER!

  • @andreasfr1 :D

  • Because of her, I became such an animal lover, and hate what we do to them.

  • 00:28 is she a frog?

  • this is really the best part about this movie. this song and sequence is seriously beautiful.

  • "You can own the earth and still

    all you'll own is earth"

    until you can paint

    with all the colors

    of the

    wind

    <3

  • 3:07 "and we're all connected to each other in circle in a loop that never ends"

    mufasa taought you well

  • "You think that only because you don't know any better!"

I'm pretty sure that London had a few problems in 1605, Mr. Smith.

  • just one person disliked this video wow and out of 281 i just liked so that why i said 281 :)

  • I hope this movie will get a blue-ray soon.

  • This song is so beautiful, always get the chills when I hear it, I wish Disney Classics will come back again.

  • in 2:55 they should just make love

  • just get chills like no other. from this part 3:27

  • @thanhbites me to lol

  • i always watch Pocahontas when she was singing this but when i watched it this time i looked ta john smith and he just looks so amazed :)

  • mel gibson: an intolerant prick since his voice over days

  • i was born in 1998, so im thirteen now. i grew up on disney. but now, now it just sucks.

  • @dinerdashgal44 Me,too!(about being 13 and growing up with Disney)but The Princess and the Frog and Tangled was pretty good...u should give some new stuff a chance...but NOTHING compares the classics!

  • Dear youtubers, I know alot of people won't do this but to those that do, Hi my name is Rachel and I am a young singer trying to become a pro one day. I did a cover of this song and sang it in my talent show on my channel and I'd really appreciate if you checked it out. Even subscribed and tell me what you think. It is my dream to one day be known like this. ~Rachel<3

  • Goosebumps.

  • When she says, "how high does the sycamore grow" 3:15 i just get chills like no other. just simply beautiful!

  • Hmm.... i think polish version is the best.... but this is also cool

  • i have goosebumps .

  • This movie is BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • This is so exciting and fun to sing when you are high, it's so lovely♥

  • Some Teacher asked us what our Fav. movie of all time and a few said Saw or Twilight (BLEH)and when it came to me i said Pocahontas and everyone just stared for a few sec. and then i said that if they didn't like it they didn't have to say anything (i gave them stank eye) and they all ended up looking away but a few people changed their answers to Lion King or Ariel. HA !!! XP

I love the song Colors Of The Wind!!!! XD Go Pocahontas!!

  • @averypeyton THEY THOUGHT IT WAS WEIRD TO LOVE DISNEY?!THOSE TASTLESSS MORONIC LUNATICS!I should feel bad for them...Saw and Twilight SUCK compared to classic Disney <3..Yeah,good thing some changed their mind!Tryna be all cool...

  • @averypeyton Maybe they stared at you because of the true story behind Pocahontas. You know, how she left her old life to become "civilized" and die at age 22.

  • Pocahontas and Ariel have to be my favorite Disney Princesses.

  • this song makes me teary eyed :')

  • maaaan i wish we could have disney back! but atleast i knw one thing is for sure! i am now collecting all of disney's old movies cause i wana make sure that my kids grow up on those kinds of movies..like we did! disney has taught us a lot abt friendship, honor and love.the young children doesn't understand religion and stuff like that..and so what they see and watch is what becomes their religion..well i wana keep Disney alive to become their first religion..thumbs up for the old disney guys!

  • loveee this song

  • 3:38 - what's Pocahontas doing on Pride rock? :P

  • I love this song I can't stop watching it.

  • this song is so amazing and meaningful, it really is beautiful and ill never get tired of it!

  • I found an artist on deviantart a while back who I swear really can paint with all the colors of the wind. ;) She is THAT talented. She does a lot of Disney stuff too. I wish I could draw or paint HALF as good as them. But I seem to have been a storyteller from birth. Perhaps I am supposed to write stories like this. But I know the struggle of being different from others as well. I have found that sometimes being different is good thing when 'normal' is not good anymore.

  • @RigelHopeStar what's her username on deviantart?

  • @paranoidskit I think her name is alicexz... or something like that. I know it was alice. ;) My username on there is Sage-Voseyu. But 'Alice' does a lot of watercolor stuff of Disney, Avatar, and other genres like that. The original film looks like a 6 year old painted it compares to Alice's stuff. You should check it out. :)

  • @RigelHopeStar Oh! I know about her, she is really talented! And yes, you're absolutely right. It really looks like she paints with all the colors of the wind :)

  • Maybe if everyone in the world listened to this song, there wouldn't be any racism.

  • i've never watched this movie.. but i heard this song sooo many times.

  • This song makes an excellent point (: Love it <3

  • I love how this song is about being open-minded and respecting nature and all other life forms. :3

  • "what you mean is.... not like you" <3 Im half native and that line was always my favorite. So powerful, i miss this disney.

  • @GlambertGirl2010 im 1/3rd Native (It doesn't really counts lol) And this is my favorite Song by Disney

  • Pocahontas gave me unrealistic expectations about how my hair would look if I ran around in the woods all day.

  • @LittleMissAnnelijn jenna marbles lol have u seen that video?

  • @LittleMissAnnelijn hahahhahahaha u just made me laugh so hard..

    ty

  • There's a dislike?!?

  • You know, it's kinda f****ed up that she DUMPDS him in the second movie after going through all this shit! XD

  • The reason Hitler failed as artist is because he couldn't paint with all the colors of the wind

  • "how high does the sycamore grow?

if you cut it down, then you never know."

my favorite part of the song, because it's entirely true and teaches a good lesson.

  • I love the scene where she blows away with the wind. Sooo pretty! Disney go back to your roots!

  • /watch?v=fhdg3PBvTc8&feature=related check out polish version!

  • "Every rock and tree and creature has a life, has a spirit, and a name."

"If you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew."

"WE ARE ALL CONNECTED TO EACH OTHER IN A CIRCLE, IN A HOOP THAT NEVER ENDS."

  • "You can own the earth and still

all you own is earth until

you can pain with all the colours of the wind."

^ Totally true, and my favourite line.

  • You should listen to the polish version of this song:

    "pocahontas kolorowy wiatr"

For me is much better :) enjoy your listening

  • The instrumental sounds great, but the recording quality of the voices is very poor. =/

  • beautifull, but polish version is the best of pocahontas songs :) "kolorowy wiatr" :)))

  • Thanks to the creators of this feature, The Lion King is what it is today! (A true masterpiece!)

  • @ACE1JONB Lion King? Don't you mean Pocahontas?

  • @LoboWarriorForever mhm...the artists for pocahontas dropped the lion king project because they thought it would be unsuccessful. the animation department then recruited stronger artists and creative persons to make the lion king and that decision made the film a hit! :)

  • @LoboWarriorForever I think that the poster was referring to how Pocahontas was expecting to be the exciting, blockbuster animated feature that everyone would rave about. No one was expecting The Lion King to succeed to the extent that it did. They thought it would be a B movie. This pushed the animators to create a movie that exceeded everyone's expectations, and could hold its own against Pocahontas. Both, are truly amazing movies. Masterpieces in their own rights.

  • @LoboWarriorForever

I hate to ask, but would you be able to send me or post a link to download this song? I can't find a good quality english version by Judy Kuhn on mediafire......and Pocahontas just isn't Pocahontas without Judy Kuhn =] Help a dude out???

  • @Tiburon1830 Sorry. I don't own the soundtrack, all I own is the movie. So I can't help, maybe someone else here (watching this video) can help Tiburon1830?

  • @LoboWarriorForever Actually Pocahontas was in production the same time when lion king was on! Most animators preferred to work on Pocahontas as they considered lion king inferior to Pocahontas! But the 13 best animators took on the task of Lion King! That's the reason that the lion king was a greater success than Pocahontas!! :)

  • @rishabhrox1 lol thanks for the info. I understand it now xD

  • @ACE1JONB

I think the Lion King is what it is today, because the Japanese had a great idea for Disney to steal....

  • @ACE1JONB Lion King? The video's about Pocahontas.

  • so beautiful! i need to rewatch pocahontas!

  • Every time I hear this song now as an adult, I can't help but feel so bad for the Native American Indians and how badly mistreated they were. R.I.P. Pocahontas (1595-1617).

  • I just LOVE Pocahontas' hair.

  • Pocahontas was one of my favourite Princesses when I was younger, along with Mulan; I used to watch the movies over and over again :')

The songs in Pocahontas and Mulan are the best, and are amazing films :') <3

  • 3:07 ARIEL HAIR FLIP :D

  • @EveningFantasy I should've notice that! But this was on a Different angle.

  • Polish version is the best :D

  • i love the baby bare :) <3

  • This is back when I respected Disney, when they actually taught something to kids. Now they just show stupid teenage pop stars.

  • "things you never knew you never knew" that sounds wrong

  • @BRACEwits it isn't though o.o It's adds more power 2, so it's better than only once "you never knew"

  • @BRACEwits its meant to mean *lol* that.. he learned things about this world/mentality he didnt even know existed..kinda hard to explain.. hope it helps D:

  • 0:30

Holy Sh*t! Did you see that jump!?

  • Freaking hippies

  • I really wouldn't suggest following a bear into it's den..but the song is still lovely :D

    memories :')

  • I swear Pocahontas and Mulan are sisters.. I'd love to see them meet. That would've been interesting.

  • @randombuddypotato you mean like girl on girl action?

  • @SANNAFABICH lol no, I mean because they're both such strong female characters, it'd be interesting to watch a conversation between them. they both had to accomplish a lot of things in their times. also, they look similar facially in their movies, which is why I said they're like sisters.

  • @randombuddypotato even though you are right, you killed my dream :(

  • @SANNAFABICH D: ? what was the dream?

  • @randombuddypotato te one you put in my head! hot, steamy, slippery hot sex between Mulan and Pocahontas!

  • @SANNAFABICH sigh.... not cool, dude. lol.

  • @randombuddypotato You'll understand when you are older

  • Comment removed

  • @SANNAFABICH nah, I don't want to. I got standards, pal, and I'm gonna stick to 'em.

man, you got lotsa hate on your channel.

  • @randombuddypotato yeah, I admit I tend to get on people's nerves

  • @SANNAFABICH rofl indeed

  • @randombuddypotato Umm... you realize Pocahontas was 12 in real life (if the story even was real), and she didn't exactly do much to prevent the genocide and oppression of her people, right?

  • @BalmungSama0 lol yes, I know she was 12 in real life. and though she may not have prevented the genocide and oppression of her people, that whole issue isn't the reason why she's famous (more or less), is it? she's been romanticised by films and novels. she did what few else had done. she became famous in england, maybe as a curiosity, or as a surprisingly noble lady from a land presumably of "savages"...

anyway. I was referring to the disney characters, so it's all rather irrelevant I think.

  • wow thanks for the upload ^^

just love this movie !!! >_<
