So sad -- we too just had a baby goat a few hours ago with the same features, except our little doe has only one popping eye ball in the middle of her head; the twin buck appears completely healthy. Thank you for sharing your photos, we are having a hard time finding information on this shocking condition.
it actually looks alot like "cyclopse" syndrome i saw it in a pig once they dont live very long the nose area for it to breath should have been in the mouth so it probably kept opening its mouth alot to breath. i belive you did the right hting the animal wouldnt have lived long with this as is. type cyclopse pig and you will see something very similar
Alobar holoprosencephaly with symptomatic cyclopia. The goat kid did not suffer because the part of the brain responsible for awareness was not present.
sorry to say this but someone had sex with your goat, and thats what came out. I have heard of this but never have seen or fully believed it. ask your grand parents or any older country people to verify
Yeah it does looks like cyclopia, which may also be cause when the pregnant animal eats a corn lily Veratrum californicum, which contains a tovin that causes cyclopia, cyclopamine. The corn lily looks very similar to the hellebore, which is used as a natural treatment for the symptoms that often occur during a pregnancy, like vomitting, so the 2 are often mistaken and a deformed baby is the result, especially if eaten 14 days into the embryos development, which is when the eye hemispheres devide
