in the late 1700's electric rods, which we now use for grounding of lightning strikes, were deemed to be unnatural and an afront to god. It wasn't until a church (with high amounts of explosives in it!?) was struck and blew, causing a great fire that the church changed its heathen electric rods idea, not so much on the nitro storage though. The fact that anyone actually listens to this mob group is rediculous, and intellictually stunting.
I did some counselling work at a Catholic seminary back in the 1990s- I wasn’t very experienced but I don’t think they cared that much.
I often smuggled in porn mags (some gay, some straight) and condoms for the students until the Head found out & fired me for ‘incompetence’. However, they had to pay for my silence with 2 years’ salary and a fantastic reference as they didn’t want the bad PR to get out.
I used to joke that the word 'seminary' was quite appropriate!

Better yet, let them slip into irrelevance. The catholic church has been an oppressive, destructive force throughout history and nothing has changed. I understand that people want tradition, spirituality, etc., but you don't need a church for that.
