With all respect to this game I feel two things are wrong with it.

1. those ground units must be the largest ground forces I have ever seen, hell they beat an Emperor-class Titan from 40K in shear size.

2. While setting up a galactic empire I really don't like the feel that I would be engaging on a 2D plain sorry but use EAW as template at least they got the idea.

@jpvg1981 I know that this is not realistic,but moving something that large would take a starship's sized anti-gravity generator to compensate for their size. I know that they are representational but still, I feel that if you are going to have a bloody large mecha then have something smaller then it to show it's scale.

i have to say i own armada and am not all tha impresed as it is with it i advise that if you want a game like this just hold your cash untill sword of the stars 2 comes out it will be much better and for the idiots that only care about grahics its gona have better graphics also

If you're looking for more space combat and less spreadsheety management you're probably better off going with something like Sword of the Stars. I think they’re getting a shiny new sequel out in a couple months from now.

Sins felt too much of a vanilla strategy game to me, lately however i have found Sword of the Stars to be a great game, and some of the mods out there for it are very good. Homeworld 1 and 2 were excellent so im agreement there.

Another one that was a lot of fun and mixed space and ground combat was Imperium Galactica 2: Alliances.

To be honest I would rather play masters of orion II. The only x4 game I'm remotely interested in coming out is sword of the stars 2. Unless someone does something interesting in a x4 game. Like say Sins of the Solar Empire. you can count me out. And with the economy rounding the toilet bowl. I won't be wasting my money on the same game I have been playing for years with complete fail graphics. Dude! I want HD movie quality space battle. It's 2011. Come on!

It's just another game like the Civilization - "bad" graphics and superior gameplay. Have to agree with capkill. The last few CoD's were all the same except for the campaign which was WAY to small. Why buy Black Ops when its multiplayer is the same as Modern Warfare's?

Go back to the old school games, where gameplay mattered, and not the imba graphics. :)

@Waislboy Look at battlefield 3 they say the pre-order numbers are 5 to 8 times larger than those of bad company 2 . Don't remember the exact number of times :D . Sure the game's good but what's it's selling point ? Those awsome graphics . It's not a bad game but sadly proof that people will choose imba graphics over gameplay , A very sad thing . :(

@Cobac Actually, no. Another big selling point of Battlefield 3 is that its gameplay has always been focused around big maps and great team-based gameplay which people like about the series. That there's more PREORDERS of the game, just means that 1) the fps fanbase has increased over the past few years (Which it has) and that 2) they've done a great job at advertising it.

Saying that BF 3 having more preoders than BCBC 2 means that people prefer graphics over gameplay is inaccurate! :P

It's my favorite 4x. The gameplay is just great. Of course, some things could still be improved but i haven't had so much fun with a 4x since Star Trek: birth of the Federation.

@Anguille2 Thing is botf is an awful game. But extremely authentic interface, voice overs and music make it compelling. If it used some cooked up homebrew IP it would have been shit.

The massive turn processing, serious bugs and terrible gameplay balances would NEVER have got so much gameplay from me if it wasn't startrek. You just have to fire that game up after watching a few old episodes of the show!
