@breizhcatalonia1993 No it's not! It's Sardinia which is a part of Italy. Only about 22% of the population of Alghero speak it and there is no nationalist movement there either.

@GaeilgeSpraoi thus, there is a sardinian nationalist movement who is not majoritary but to be one of that that it seems that the whole island is nationalist but when , the town's government says that 41% of the inhabitants speak as its first language, wikipedia says that only 22% who we have to trust¡¡¡¡¡

L'alguer is catalan by language and culture though most of its inhabitants can speak also italian or sardinian

Molt interessant! @MarcBart: hi ha un estudi socio-lingüístic sobre l'Alguerès per l'IEC, es pot trobar buscant "El Català de l'Alguer, un model d'ambit restringit" al Google. També interessant és: "El català a l'Alguer: apunts per a un llibre blanc".

En aquest vídeo diu que segons l'Ajuntament, un 41% dels algueresos tenen l'alguerès com a llengua habitual. També diu que en tota l'illa de Sardenya 15.000 el parlen. En canvi, en el vídeo del YouTube titulat "TV3 - Telenotícies: La salut del català" diu que només el 8% el parlen a casa i el 4% a les botigues. Prefereixo la primera font.

Per altra banda, a la wikipedia si poses "alguerès", diu que segons una enquesta del 2004:

L'entén: 90,1%

El llegeix: 46,5%

El parla: 61,3%

L'escriu: 13,6%

En què quedem? L'important és que encara es parla català a l'Alguer. I que continuï!
