Response to the first question in the video... Yes, its a jet, the orange stream is its contrail (Jet gasses and dense air) When lit up by the sun makes it glow orange. Same reason in polluted skies u get a nice orange glow on the horizon early morning or late dusk.

Actually, this cannot be the space shuttle.

It's way too low to be creating a friction pattern, and friction patterns are always bright - almost white.

This is simply an orange contrail.

A normal airplane contrail lit by the orange sunlight of dusk or dawn.

This is an "Orange Contrail".

It is not a rare phenomenon.

It happens whenever the sun is low, and the plane is high.

The sun is low enough that it cannot light up the sky, which then darkens. The plane is so high however, that it can be hit, and is lit up by the low sun.

Sunlight is orange, both at dusk and at dawn, due to the increased amount of particles in the air the light has to travel through.

Darkened sky, plus contrail lit by orange sunlight = glowing orange contrail.

Looks like an object de-orbiting. If that is the space shuttle, that video is really zoomed in tightly to see the vehicle. Might look like that about 3000-5000 miles before landing.

Space shuttles do not look like that.

The space shuttle does not fire it's rockets upon re-entry. It merely glides.

When it glides vertically, like the object in this video, it doesn't leave a visible trail at all.

When it leaves a visible trail, it is much higher up, and NOT vertical, as the heatshield is on the bottom of the shuttle, so it will have it's nose in the air.

This is a normal plane, leaving a normal contrail, lit by the normal morning sun.

This is a high altitude shot, perhaps a sattelite launch.. The pink color is atmospheric affects similar to sunset colors and the tail is exhaust which is supersonic and exhibits a charateristic diamond shape from the shock waves. Excellent video.
