I think it's great that Oprah is exposing many people to other ways of being Spiritual beside Christianity. Christianity is an organized religion where Oprah is introducing people to new ways of seeing things spiritual. It gives people more choice in how they see God religion, etc. Oprah is not trying to start a new religion. She is a seeker herself and is letting ppl know what she has found by reading Eckhart Tolle and others.

We have on record the martyrdom of Polycarp who was the last remaining disciple of John. Yes there are many sects and organizations claiming the name of Christ. But this does not mean that original apostolic faith, the faith of the apostles, was lost.
This is something interesting to notice. I ask 'Who is living this life'? Is it the 'me' I think I am? That 'me' is a mind made memory made sense of a self. It is not ultimately real. This 'me' I believe I am is an illusion. The real me, living this life could be said to be God itself disguised as this person, not only in a physical way but in a mental way. We say this is [me], the body-mind, personalty, memories when it is actually God in disguise. God is everyone in disguise.
If you dont understand this or believe this your not supposed to. that like all else is the divine expression. you believe whatever you have to. whatever your supposed to. It does'nt matter to God what you believe. I have experienced and realized a lot of this so i speak of it although i realize most will not understand it.

I no longer feel that fear because I realize i am much more than the body. I used to laugh at other ppl for being overweight and for other reasons. I no longer do that. The 'I' concept is a creation of the mind and as such it has no validity. To the mind what you really are is nothing. Even the concept of you being nothing, the mind tries to turn around into a thind and assign attributes to the no-thing-ness. Death and evil definitely exist in this relative world. I do fight evil although ultimately I realize there is an absolute that is beyond evil. That absolute is what we are and what we return to although we have only left it in mind. From here death of the one self, our true nature is an illusion. Maybe that is what Jesus was trying to show us. The body dies but the spirit is immortal. We must die as the individual body-mind to be born again in spirit.
The mind is a great problem solver when it is fed accurate data. The main program bug in the mind occurs when we identify ourselves 'as' the mind. As we learn to identify with the deeper level of pure awareness, the bug is fixed and we learn to see things 'as they are' rather than through the 'filter' of the mind. Now problem solving activity continues more accurately and spontaneously.
This is one reason we talk about how many misidentify as the body-mind instead of their true nature.

The Plan in a nutshell--God has personally broken into history in the person of Jesus Christ and thru his life, death and resurrection the Kingdom of God HAS been INAUGURATED. The New Creation has been initiated by His Resurrection. It's the indestructible seed that God planted that will result in full resurrection harvest when the Kingdom comes in full CONSUMMATION. The present world is DYING (no proof needed) and the only hope of the world is the Resurrection and the hope of a New Creation.
Man does'nt need to fear God or make God proud of him or love him by his actions. There are many atheists that are very good kind ppl with aspirations and dignity. @MrBOGZY Capitalism has seen it's best days and it's been failing for a while. We need a new form of government or some major changes in this one or things will get a lot worse. Seperation of church and state has been a good thing. There are atheists with a lot of good ideas about government and it can definitely be run without religion. We just need good honest ppl, and not necessarily good honest Christians or Jews.
The Resurrection is proof that death and evil are conquered foes (we don't deny their reality as your view does) and that is why Christians in history have been willing to die for a cause they believe is serving the Kingdom (William Wilberforce and the abolition of the slave trade). And the promise of a NEW CREATION give us hope that God will usher the entire cosmos into a full resurrection experience. So right now we live, serve and work in anticipation and service of that NEW CREATION hope.

I think it's great that Oprah is exposing many people to other ways of being Spiritual beside Christianity. Christianity is an organized religion where Oprah is introducing people to new ways of seeing things spiritual. It gives people more choice in how they see God religion, etc. Oprah is not trying to start a new religion. She is a seeker herself and is letting ppl know what she has found by reading Eckhart Tolle and others.

@lrmswift Here’s the problem- ‘organized religion’ is a dirty word in popular thinking, associated with a monolithic religiou-political institution that keep people blinded and suppressed. Of course there have been “Christian” organizations that are guilty of this, but this is NOT Christianity. Again, Christianity is Jesus Christ in His life, teachings, death and resurrection as expressed in the New Testament. Critique it on that basis. So be careful with your descriptions and labels.

We have on record the martyrdom of Polycarp who was the last remaining disciple of John. Yes there are many sects and organizations claiming the name of Christ. But this does not mean that original apostolic faith, the faith of the apostles, was lost.

This is something interesting to notice. I ask 'Who is living this life'? Is it the 'me' I think I am? That 'me' is a mind made memory made sense of a self. It is not ultimately real. This 'me' I believe I am is an illusion. The real me, living this life could be said to be God itself disguised as this person, not only in a physical way but in a mental way. We say this is [me], the body-mind, personalty, memories when it is actually God in disguise. God is everyone in disguise.

I no longer feel that fear because I realize i am much more than the body. I used to laugh at other ppl for being overweight and for other reasons. I no longer do that. I am compassionate seeing that at at any given point each is exactly how they must be. I see a fat person and I think that could have been me. I am kinder to everyone..

I have had many spiritiual experiences and I see there is a Source and we are all connected to it and eachother. I feel love for this gift of life, beingness, awareness. The 'I' concept is a creation of the mind and as such it has no validity. To the mind what you really are is nothing. Even the concept of you being nothing, the mind tries to turn around into a thind and assign attributes to the no-thing-ness. The mind cannot grasp what you are but what can be done is expose the false notion that you are a limited being..It must be investigated that there is no one home in the mind. As the illusion comes apart what is real comes to the foreground.

Death and evil definitely exist in this relative world. I do fight evil although ultimately I realize there is an absolute that is beyond evil. That absolute is what we are and what we return to although we have only left it in mind. From here death of the one self, our true nature is an illusion. Maybe that is what Jesus was trying to show us. The body dies but the spirit is immortal. We must die as the individual body-mind to be born again in spirit.

The mind is a great problem solver when it is fed accurate data. The main program bug in the mind occurs when we identify ourselves 'as' the mind. As we learn to identify with the deeper level of pure awareness, the bug is fixed and we learn to see things 'as they are' rather than through the 'filter' of the mind. Now problem solving activity continues more accurately and spontaneously.
This is one reason we talk about how many misidentify as the body-mind instead of their true nature.

The Plan in a nutshell--God has personally broken into history in the person of Jesus Christ and thru his life, death and resurrection the Kingdom of God HAS been INAUGURATED. The New Creation has been initiated by His Resurrection. It's the indestructible seed that God planted that will result in full resurrection harvest when the Kingdom comes in full CONSUMMATION. The present world is DYING (no proof needed) and the only hope of the world is the Resurrection and the hope of a New Creation.

I don't know what 'voice' is being referred to. These apparent individuals were being lived by life. Whatever actions seemed to come from these apparent individuals was actually happenings in and of the totality. The universe as a whole created these actions. To ask if these asctions were knowingly ordered by the absolute mystery (God) cannot be known. The universe may be an epihenomenon that emanates from God but one that God does not control by ordering each happening.

The Resurrection is proof that death and evil are conquered foes (we don't deny their reality as your view does) and that is why Christians in history have been willing to die for a cause they believe is serving the Kingdom (William Wilberforce and the abolition of the slave trade). And the promise of a NEW CREATION give us hope that God will usher the entire cosmos into a full resurrection experience. @lrmswift I hope you realize that though you hold to eastern mysticism you still can’t leave behind the Judeo-Christian convictions that formed western morality. You use words such as “compassionate” and “honest” when in your worldview these are MEANINGLESS ideas in the end. Ultimate reality for you is a non-pesonal-all encompassing-thing-it-or blank. A “thing” that does not even know, much less distinguish or care for, either compassion or honesty! Your god doesn't care so why should you?

@lrmswift You say that you see your “role” in life and you play it to the fullest. That’s MEANIGNLESS TALK, why? Because your “god” doesn’t know and doesn’t (couldn’t!) care one bit! You can choose your role but it is not a DEFINITE OUGHT. Others choose their roles too, like HITLER and POL POT, and you can’t say their choice is wrong and evil for your “god” doesn’t know and couldn’t care for these distinctions! You may care but your god doesn’t—not a bit. To care or not doesn't matter in the end

Others can choose, “Since ‘hurt’, ‘individuals’, ‘pain’, ‘death’, killing are not ultimately real--ALL IS ONE, then in the end it doesn’t really matter what I do. I like to do things to little girls and boys that appears hurting them, but hurt and individual boys and girls, me, are ultimately illusions so I guess it’s ok. This is my role.” What can you say?

In my philosophy I cannot say if oneness even knows about suffering or this physical realm. It just appears as part of Source. The physical apparently has 2 appear in dual opposites, therefor pain and pleasure, good and evil, happy and sad appear temporarily.

And if it encompasses and engulfs ALL into it (Mother Teresa and her acts as well as HITLER and his acts) and doesn't even know what's happening, or if even we exist at all as persons with deep feelings, aspirations, convictions and relationships then WHAT'S THE USE OF TALKING ABOUT THIS god? @MrBOGZY How can Source be confused and irrational if it does'nt think in the way humans think? Source is said to be being-knowing and bliss. These 3 can be experienced if one awakens no matter what is going on in the apparent dream world. It is the screen that the movie is shown on. The screen is never affected no matter what is playing in the movie. We need to realize it is a movie and we are the screen. The only reality is the screen of awareness, our true nature.

@lrmswift Does your source even think at all!? We humans think with personal thoughts on personal things. Does you source think that way? "Being-knowing bliss", what is that? Is this "bliss" FULLY AWARE of our unblissful life on earth? Does it CARE for the many humans oppressed by corruption, crime and poverty? Does it CARE about our decaying world? Does it have a PLAN to change things? Or is it blissfully IGNORANT of all this? Which is the ILLUSION--our very real life or the so-called source?

@lrmswift It's like specks of dusts (people) appreciating the beauty of this oneness of all (when this "oneness of all" actually refers to Storm Katrina, a nonpersonal thing that just blasts its way with no knowledge and not a care as to what happens to the tiny specks of dust that it sucks and blows in and out--it couldn't care for it's a thing totally unlike humans, a nonpersonal "it"). What is there to appreciate this "it"? We know. "It" doesn't. We care. "It" doesn't. We love. "It" doesn't.

@MrBOGZY It knows. We think we know. We care and we dont care. We love and we hate. We help, we hurt and we kill. Awareness allows all to take place in the dream. It is pure allowing. It is the screen and can not be hurt no matter what is playing in the movie. We are that screen and not these bodies. We need to stop misidentifying as these bodies. It seems you take this physical manifestation to seriously. It can suddenly end at any time. Don't hang on to it. It is so temporary.

@lrmswift I thought you knew enough about the Judeo-CHristian faith not to stumble over the question of HITLER in my world. I've already stated, CREATION is real and good but since the FALL it's been marred by REAL EVIL. Your world can only deny such realities on the face of such mountains of evidence. If only the blissful one exists how do you explain all the UNbliss in our world? To explain it away as "objective manifestation must exist in pairs of dual opposites" is TOTALLY UNSATISFYING!

Not being mean but just to make a point- Slap yourself in the face 3 times, jump on the floor head first, stand in front of a speeding truck--not solid enough? Your dream analogy is unconvincing. Dreams are dreams. We wake up and KNOW that it's a dream. In fact in some dreams our cognition sometime recognize we're dreaming and so either cruise along or resist it. You and i are not dreaming when we eat, drink, work, love, care etc. It's called REAL LIFE

@MrBOGZY This universe is the most amazing dream. I have seen it but I cannot prove it 2 anyone. If you experience it you know, otherwise you dont. Either way is appropriate because they both happen 2 many ppl. Ppl awake from this physical dream and realize it for what it is. Others dont and live their lives assuming it is all real. There is no harm either way but I dont take it all so seriously. I can relax knowing what it all really is & still fight wrong doing and help those who need kindness

@lrmswift If you follow carefully the meta-narrative of the Judeo-Christian story you will find how cohesive it is and how consistent it it is with experienced reality. In a nutshell it is this -- CREATION (humanity created with genuine freedom and power of choice), THE FALL (where evil enters human history and experience), REDEMPTION (God steps into human history thru Jesus Christ, spiritually reclaiming the human race from sin), RESTORATION (God's Kingdom fully reclaims humanity and creation).

@MrBOGZY Nothing is thought or done that is not the will of the totality. God does everything. I do nothing. Individual free will is an illusion. If love happens if sin happens it is always the will of the one and not the will of the illusory seperate self. We as these individuals are tools of God. To say there is something other than God is blasphemy since God is the only reality. We are aspects of that one reality for that one reality is all there is. The physical manifestation has to appear.

You speak of our very real self and world. If you were sleeping one nite and dreaming of living in paris and flying Jets for a living and I came into your Jet during a test flight and told you you were dreaming the whole thing you would argue with me untill you woke up and then think gee 'that guy was right.

@lrmswift “Holy men” (sadhu) are those who sit in dust in their yoga positions, unbathed, unfed, not working, not caring, abandoning families and regular life, locked matted hair, going here, there and nowhere, begging, meditating and saying “om”. At least they’re consistent with their world denying philosophy. They don’t care about life as we know it--why? because their god and their reality doesn’t care! Westerners infatuated with eastern thought compromise it with old Christian convictions.

@MrBOGZY I believe in neo advaita or neo nonduality. A lot of the teachers I read and listen to have Jobs. For instance Scott Kiloby is a Lawyer. You might want to watch him on youtube. The era of the guru that just meditated all day is mostly past. Modern times call for modern teachers. Rupert Spira is a painter Also on youtube. Just check these ppl out. Even Nisargadatta owed a store and was married with children in India.

@MrBOGZY All points of view, all world views arise from the Totality as a cosmic convergence of the whole. These worldviews are not chosen by the apparent individual but are discovered. They like everything else are happenings in and of the Totality. There are no independent individuals, there are only aspects of the whole or God.
The human intellect can not know the mind rhyme or reason of God. At times the wisdom of God appears as foolishness to the mind of men.

Or are these simply philosophical musings without any relation to actual, living reality--just a mind game? How do you know which is and which is not God's "wisdom"? Should i just take your word for it? This is the problem i have with your position--you don't give me anything that i can actually hold on to, to discern its veracity. You just give me ideas with no connection to reality

@MrBOGZY What is being referred to as 'philosophical musings' R seen and accepted by some and R not seen and rejected by others. Each individual is a compilation that was created by the universe as a whole. From here this appears obvious. What is an individual person than it's biological inheritance and all of it's historical/sociological programming? That is what is thinking, choosing and doing in the physical manifestation. It's source is the divine mystery or what is referred to as God.

@lrmswift Your are right ...God is much more than a bunch of words on paper...He is spirit and cannot be defined by words. I try to get ppl out of this dogma by pointing out its discrepancies and questiionable history. It may not be the best way due to their defensiveness and indoctrination. If they could just drop the judgment, and just do what LOVE would do..the world could change overnite. God is all things, there is nothing that is not God. The world is not split into saved and unsaved.

For you believe a group of primitive tribes who killed in the name of god ...a god who turned around & said thou shall not kill...love your enemy.U are taking your faith thru second hand knowledge...and in my opinion..not a good one at that. My experience is my truth and my experience of God is one of total love & compassion...my God is not a vengeful wrathful angry "child" who kills when he doesn't get his way.
