...sorry ???!!!???...another USA military base ???...aren't there enough ???...everyone is speaking against the military actions in Burma and people propose to install even more soldiers there !!!...by the way, you speak of controlling China...but who will control the USA ??? Please, don't answer the UN !!!
What is happening in Myanmar right now is nothing less than a revolutionary populous movement for democracy - and we should all be paying close attention. Unfortunately, many people do not recognize that Myanmar's military dictatorship is essentially a creation of China's strategic interests in the region. Until the international community confronts China and its foreign policy, the tragic situation in Burma will not change.
More like this: what's happening in Mynamar is a pre-paid "color revolution" by some shady Washington-based "Endowment for Fuhreedum", complete with secret Swiss accounts and promises of nice kickbacks and fast-track US-citizenships.
Main problem is that they are buddhist, which mean the want to do absolutly no harm. Shaolins were in the beginning training for physical fitness so that the could better meditate. They still meditate and eat no meat. Because meateating is, in their eyes, murder and therefore a sinn.
I myself think that buddhism is a beatiful religion, but such dogmas as being stictly peaceful can be dangerous like in this case.
Also i think that eating meat is murder, but i do it one or two times in a month...
...why can't you start by solving YOUR own problems? When I travelled to the US, I was shocked with the amount of obese people eating crap, of homeless people, with how easy it is to buy a gun and shoot colleagues in school...today I'm shocked with how hard it is for an American to show on a map the countries you invade - it's like going abroad on holidays and not being able to locate on a map the country you're travelling to...who cares, right?...as long as everybody thinks American...
Where there is an interfere from the U.S.A, there will be a lot of blood and death. When the U.S.A interfere in Iraq, thousands of ordinary Iraqi died for no reason. When the U.S.A interfere in Burma, it is certain that thousands of ordinary Burmese will die for the Western Politicans. Nowaday the fact there is the U.S GI, there will be blood and death of thousands. In Iraq, half million of ordinary Iraqi were killed by the U.S gunfire.
history hv tell us, what does the western country wants......just for asian, you imagine how many countries already stayed in by the US army, one day there is no more asian countries, all these countries will called USA. haha...
For all you people that are unaware. The USA is constructing the largest embassy in SEA only 4 doors down from Aung San Suu Kyi house on the lake. It is MASSIVE. Why, because leases for offshore oil blocks have opened up. American companies have been drilling offshore exploration wells there.
1. Buddhist monks (whose philosophy teach detachment from worldly concerns)are now activists.
2. Bloggers sitting in front of home computers are fighting against military actions.
3. The military force that have deployed the most destructive powers in the most countries around the world is the promoter of democracy and peace. It comes from the country with the highest crime and murder rates too.
I assume you're referring to the US having some of the higher (highest maybe) crime rates among developed nations. That's a key modifier. Also, your understanding of Buddhism, both philosophically and historically, is obviously lacking.
Name me another country, developed and undeveloped where people are shooting each other in schools and teenagers go to schools packed please. If reading Buddhist scripture ever since I could read and having walked the 7 steps in Lumbini and did my own history research in Ashoka and the origin of Buddhism is not enough, then please enlighten me. Wake up.
You crackhead. I fully support your right to come on here and say what you want. Your words are what expose your ignorance. Lighten up, pal. Little knowledge is dangerous. If you think you know more about Myanmar and the games that are in play, you are welcome to test me any time. Stallone123 at your service. No, I am not like some people who think Burma doesn't have oil.

are you kidding me? what needs to happen is a global response from governments to tell the junta to step down and allow true democracy. This is embarassing. Why does my country, and yours do nothing, the answer is easy, because WE have not pressured them enough to do so.
This is something like "People Power"... The Burmese should learn from "pinoys" of the Philippines when they oust the Marcos regime during the '80s... Selfish & Evil governance of the people should put to end...
yeah i went there in the spring, they have this huge water festival to celebrate the new year in april, check out the youtube video "3 days orgy" to see what its like, it's the craziest thing you'll ever see. Would any Burmese people watching this video like to post some translations for us westerners?
I made a knee jerk comment about Burma not having enough oil to care about. I was wrong. Everybody should look at this. Please google the following article:
There are no reports that China "has the situation under full control". If so, please post.
Interest, action and infomation can make a huge difference in the plight of these innocent people--the negative press this regime has receive is a prime example of the power of You Tube and other outlets.
So now people of Myanmar should talk and talk to the officers and soldiers to make them go out of the barracks and move on the side of monks and people. That move will bring total success as an affect of a snow ball. People should talk more and more to the soldiers and bring them food and agitate them to support monks. People of Myanmar need just few brave officers to start and then victory will come very quickly. People should not stay on one place . People should move very quickly.
Russian people very friendly and very emotionally support moral resistance of people of Myanmar who went to the streets showing people's will to stop military dictatorship.
In Russia in 1917 February revolution started when some army and police units not only refused to shoot people but few regiments turn to the side of protesters and supported the democratic revolution. Few regiments went into the streets of the capital with guns and protected people very effectively.
This is so frustrating, how can we as regular people do anything to help Burma??? writing letters, protests in our city, it doesn't help, it's not working. The UN is the only solution, and Russia and China are blocking that from happening. Burma doesn't need our troops over there, starting war, that will only cause more innocent people to die. The junta alone needs wiped out. So I ask again, what can we do as individuals? I feel completely helpless.
If the Chinese government is indeed supporting the military junta, I think I better consider refraining from buying goods made in China untill something is done about the situation. The Chinese beurocracy is now completely addicted to economic growth and the material wealth it has brought to their own coffers . So it may be possible to scare the Chinese government into behaving more responsibly even just by talking about organizing a massive, wordwide boycott of goods made in theier country.
i am a monk in thailand and the comment from ryangiggs69 IS A LIE. Most households in Thailand have no guns. The Thai soldiers would never point a gun at a monk. Stick to watching football and stop spreading your IGNORANCE. Citta Dhammo Bhikkhu
Are French "TOTAL-itarian OIL" merchants SUPPORTING the JUNTA in Burma and inadvertently help to CAUSE the EXTINCTION of LIFE on the PLANET ? Do your own research and come to you own conclusions! Don't take it from me.
I am from myanmar, Burma. In other people country, soldiers are there to protect their citizens. In my country, soldiers are there to kill their own people. What you see in this vid is what happened in the day only. There are a lot more brutal things happening at night and at dawn behind the cameras.
It is my opinion that hate, death, war, and racism is a luxury for the elite, the ones who foster hate, death, war, and racism. All of us, as one, all together, as the Marines say: "Semper Fi", can stand together to defeat those who would destroy any man, or woman's, or child's life.
Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness should be the motto of the all people
Will he find evidence of a split in the ruling junta - and a possible mutiny in the army? India is a peaceful country they will solve their problems in a good outcome will come about because they have good Karma, and the power of love on their side. Good always defeats evil.
Reports of a split in Burma's ruling junta and a possible mutiny by troops in support of pro-democracy demonstrators
Boycott the Chinese olympics. We can't let the Chinese government think they can support the Mynamar Junta and get away with it..Free Myanmar, free Tibet.
China has massive influence on Myanmar, and they want to expand communism (look at Tebet) its China America has to deal with, but America is too stupid/pansy
by the time america realizes china is the real enemy it'll be too late... (remember back when china stole nuclear weapons secrets from america... and america didnt do shit... its cuz america is afraid of china).
It's my opinion too. But here's not Iraq, not the same. We can see that moving because some people is very courageous. At least we could respect and transmit information all over. Because of Human's Rights, for themself, for ourself.
i dont get it... the US invaded Iraq and everyone is pissed. When we know that saddam hussein massacred his people..and now you want us to interfer in uzbekistan?
yes, u idiot, but war is not da only way 2 interfere, n bush is doin nothin. n if we do have 2 resort 2 war, then we shud have a real, practical plan, somthin that wuz never implemented in Iraq.
Dont call me an idiot, i didnt come here insulting you did i? i respect all oponions.
Sadly war was the only way to get rid of saddam. What is going on in now Iraq IS SAD! But dont blame it ALL on the U.S. Most of the killings are done by IRAQIS to other IRAQIS. The U.S is stuck in a civil war! we are trying to stop them from killing each other.
u can insult me if u want, i won't bruise or bleed, or even feel anythin. But my contempt wuz stirred by ur implication that (and correct me if i'm wrong) we shud NOT interfere in Uzbekistan bcuz everyone might get pissed, jus lik we did with Iraq. N btw, does "everyone" include u? cuz it doesnt sound lik it.
Now, i don't blame it ALL on da US, but i do blieve that if it hadn't been 4 da US, Iraq....
don't u think they might say: "why don't U guys go help if you care so much?"
By helpin ourselves we wud prove that we r da best country in da world, we wud set an example. And Amnesty International n many other civil rights groups agree; they're already sendin letters n collectin signatures from ppl all ovr America 2 push da gvment in2 takin action.
...please, stop thinking like that !!!...the USA are not "the one that has to help everyone else", they never were...the USA are the one who interferes in everything...there's no such thing as a free lunch - the invoice the USA send after "helping" people is far more expensive than leaving those people without "help".
....wud not b as bad as it is now. N that's my opinion. Our reckless plan exacerbated things in Iraq, n rn't we 1 of da most (if not THE most) powerful nation in da world???!!!
ok, this is long, but i jus wanna add that i actually appreciate u botherin 2 respond 2 me n givin @ least some blame 2 da US.
Am not saying we should not help them berniemacster, am asking why everyone ask us for help? why dont they ask russia or china for help when they get in trouble?
wow, ur fast. um...ok, u askd ME y I didn't ask russia or china 4 help.
*sigh* idk who they are askin 4 help, but they probly need it all they can get. N that, my friend, is y we shud all b united n live in peace.
i don't think there's anything left 2 argue about now that i kno ur not sayin we shudn't help, so good bye, stay tuned on current events, n pray 4 those in need.
These people are pacifists. Yet they've got powerful weapons: their courage, their voices, the truth, the masses and the rest of the world. If they had oil it would have been easier. But the world = the common citizen - still trusts in you. Never give up
And we thought we had freedom of speech problems with Andrew Meyers getting tased. These guys are getting killed, on camera. And nothing is happening to the regime. This is sad.
our governments will sit back & talk & talk & talk & us thats all they will do. they wont send in help. because the burmes have nothing of use to them. all politicians are cold spineless money grabbing sacks of shit. freedom is not cheap. god bless the monks.
At the end of the day you cant blame the soldiers or anyone person but the goverment of Myanmar(burma)because at the end of the day the soldiers are only following orders like they should. But i also wonder why the hell the people let them take over in the first place. I dont understand how the became so powerful?
good idea spinthebeat, tho sadly the mainstream news will not show it anyway.
And i well agree with everyone that says we should help Myanmar, but sadly its normally the 'cops of the world' that help, and the wa y they spread peace and 'democracy' does notr seem to ever work.
instead of states helping, or helping themselves, maybe the working class people of the world should show some solidarity, a bit like the spanish civil war, maybe??
Buddhist Prayer for Peace~~ May all beings everywhere plagued with sufferings of body and mind quickly be freed from their illnesses. May those frightened cease to be afraid, and may those bound be free. May the powerless find power, and may people think of befriending one another. May those who find themselves in trackless, fearful wilderness the children, the aged, the unprotected be guarded by beneficent celestials, and may they swiftly attain Buddhahood.
Malitary of this country has rule and destroy the country for more than forty years and the world has never done anything to help the people of Burma.
So, all you Republicans out there--How come Bush doesn't order an invasion of Myanmar? Than Shwe is a brutal and evil dictator, just like Saddam Hussein was. Today, he is shooting his own citizens for merely protesting.
If the US goes in anywhere, there's always going to be some conspiracy theory developed after the fact that implies an alternative motive. Remember: Most politicians, both parties, were for the war in Iraq. Only NOW is it "Bush's fault."
Only now is it Bush's fault? Where have you been? Many, many people have faulted the Democrats in Congress for voting for this horseshit war, including a majority of Democratic voters. It's the Republican voters who so very rarely bring their representatives to task for anything.
Oh... and Myanmar does have huge natural gas reserves and is actually China's largest supplier of natural gas and may end up being the reason China gets involved. If you're going to be crass, have all of your facts handy. ;)
that's becos there's no oil in burma, so who's gonna pay for the war? war is expensive u know. americans always helps themselves to some form of "payment" after a military intervention, always.
They are just playing along with companies and people like Dick Cheney. The reason why China and India will not join the trade embargo against Myanmar is that they want their oil and natural gas.
The Buddhist Monks are the most gracious and peaceful people on earth. It is BLASPHEMOUS of the police their to crack down on those monks. GOD will punish those pathetic police!
Tell you what those Military Monks are not going to stand for long with the Police. Then they and the population will cut them down. But I fear bush or some other government with military suport will try to help out the police leading to a huge start of a civil war.
Wait till this happens in the USA. Police shoting US cavilens will spark much blood shead.
i agree with jjj7477, BOYCOTT CHINA! BOYCOTT CORRUPT OLYMPICS!!! the stadium is built on slave labour of political prisoners! do u know they imprison any religious leaders like the bishop appointed by the vatican, or fa lun gong followers, and torture, rape or kill them. sometimes they even take the organs out of those ppl, while they're still alive
Que Buda ilumini als pobres monjos i la gent de bon cor de tota Birmania. A l'infern tota la junta militar i la mala gent que els aguanta.S'ha de fer boicot als jocs olimpics de Pekin.
We say the world is watching but in more recent cases we all get to see impartial footage on the net through camera phones and video cameras. The majority of footage on the net is from corperate media. I for one feel like I havent got a clue whats going on. Im just focusing on the best possible outcome from all this. Safety, love and Compassion for all.
It's horrendous what is happening to those peace loving monks. How could the militia just shoot unarmed monks like that?. For crap's sake!, this is the kind of people that would not walk on grass to avoid stepping on an ant.
as one said, "they can kill one, two, three of us, but they can't kill us all"!! yeah, so march on and fight for your freedom, don't stop until you're triumphant...!!! FREE BURMA!!
What good is wearing a Red Shirt going to do? It may help us feel better about ourselves, it may help feel part of a group. But it does nothing for the people who are actually dying in Myanmar.
Our hearts are with you and the world is watching. The UN is not the savior of the world. Its total purpose is to geared to one world government. In the end, it is up to all of us to protect ourselves from those in our governments who want to suppress the freedom fighters.
Today burmese soliders kill many monks and protester also normal citizen who has nothing to do with it.They are shooting at everyone.Pls HELP US get the help from UN.China is rufusing to help which is delaying UN to solve our this matter.
Stop your wishful thinking. All soldiers and generals in burma are naives compare to other world leaders who are hypocrites. Sarcozy, bush, downey.

Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness should be the motto of the all people
on earth.

The Uzbek government has admitted that 173 people were killed on May 13 in Andijan but
independent witnesses and human rights organizations put the number of victims of MASSACRE
at between 500 and 1,000 civilians. w bush refuse to acknowledge or interfere with internal
affair of Uzbekistan.
screamerican55 4 years ago
i dont get it... the US invaded Iraq and everyone is pissed. When we know that saddam hussein massacred his people..and now you want us to interfer in uzbekistan?
DeusVult777 4 years ago
yes, u idiot, but war is not da only way 2 interfere, n bush is doin nothin. n if we do have 2 resort 2 war, then we shud have a real, practical plan, somthin that wuz never implemented in Iraq.
berniemacster 4 years ago
Dont call me an idiot, i didnt come here insulting you did i? i respect all oponions.
Sadly war was the only way to get rid of saddam. What is going on in now Iraq IS SAD! But dont blame it ALL on the U.S. Most of the killings are done by IRAQIS to other IRAQIS. The U.S is stuck in a civil war! we are trying to stop them from killing each other.
DeusVult777 4 years ago
u can insult me if u want, i won't bruise or bleed, or even feel anythin. But my contempt wuz stirred by ur implication that (and correct me if i'm wrong) we shud NOT interfere in Uzbekistan bcuz everyone might get pissed, jus lik we did with Iraq. N btw, does "everyone" include u? cuz it doesnt sound lik it.
Now, i don't blame it ALL on da US, but i do blieve that if it hadn't been 4 da US, Iraq....
berniemacster 4 years ago
Am not saying that we should not interfere or that we should ether. Why should the U.S be the one that has to help everyone else?

I know that. But why should be interfere in the first place? why dont you ask russia or china to interfere?
DeusVult777 4 years ago
don't u think they might say: "why don't U guys go help if you care so much?"
By helpin ourselves we wud prove that we r da best country in da world, we wud set an example. And Amnesty International n many other civil rights groups agree; they're already sendin letters n collectin signatures from ppl all ovr America 2 push da gvment in2 takin action.
berniemacster 4 years ago
...please, stop thinking like that !!!...the USA are not "the one that has to help everyone else", they never were...the USA are the one who interferes in everything...there's no such thing as a free lunch - the invoice the USA send after "helping" people is far more expensive than leaving those people without "help".

*sigh* idk who they are askin 4 help, but they probly need it all they can get. N that, my friend, is y we shud all b united n live in peace.

If the US goes in anywhere, there's always going to be some conspiracy theory developed after the fact that implies an alternative motive. Remember: Most politicians, both parties, were for the war in Iraq. Only NOW is it "Bush's fault."
jonnyGURU 4 years ago
Only now is it Bush's fault? Where have you been? Many, many people have faulted the Democrats in Congress for voting for this horseshit war, including a majority of Democratic voters. It's the Republican voters who so very rarely bring their representatives to task for anything.
