  • A legend ! Your interprétattion is really original. I love it. :D

    Thumb up !

  • He may have not been able to play guitar very well (I think he was pretty good), but he could play the hell out of that piano!!!

  • He plays piano just like he plays guitar. FAAAAAAAAAAST AS HELL

  • i grew up on this mans voice and music . and now im nearly 30 and still miss him every day

  • Does anybody know what chords he used for "No Reason"?

  • @LNA3igD It sounds like: G C G D to me. Sounds like he's hitting octaves of G starting in the 2nd verse and continuing to generally tear it up with those throughout. That piano (and Joe) sound awesome.

  • @DCarnold84 Optional Correction: The piano is flat so I guess you could play it all a half step down... it might be easier to do this on guitar than piano. Great tunes sound good in any key anyhow.

  • @DCarnold84 Thanks, just got a chance to sit down at my piano to try it out. My piano must be flat as well, because the G C G D sounds good on my piano but the half step down sounds better on my guitar. I'm gonna go mess with it some more, thanks again for the help.

  • @LNA3igD You are very welcome.

  • Anyone know the cords hes playing???

  • i love this movie -documentary

pity fuckin youtube deleted the whole film rudeboy

  • omigod! im almost crying cuz this is so cute! =D i love u Joe, RIP <3

  • Is there anything he can't do?

  • This video makes me cry .

Just thinking that Joe Strummer is dead and Ray Gange is nowhere to be seen.....

  • @pshicokiller Gange is touring with the Dropkick Murpheys

  • fucking jam

    rip joe you champion

  • Did Slade do a cover of this song too?

  • Top bloke. But I guess this is when he had bad teeth. Ha ha ha. All the best Joe.

  • It's called No Reason and Joe wrote it for the film... Then he plays Let the Good Times Roll--this is basically the Shirley & Lee R&B version but I think it's based on an old Cajun song, Laissez les Bons Temps Rouler.

  • it is an Irish song

  • which one??

  • what song is this, plz reply

  • no reason on the directors cut from rude boy

  • Forgive thy Summer Spent

    Without The Great Joe Strummer!

    Rest in Peace forever!

  • Joe better have been reincarnated as something/body that can jam on the piano.

  • his is the most charming and incredible voice i've ever heard!

    no other like him, EVER

  • who was ray grange and what did he do? was he a roady?

  • Buy/loan the dvd Rude Boy, or buy/loan books on The (Mighty) Clash

  • the rude boy story about range gange isnt true. Ray did a little stint as a rodie but he was mostly just a friend of the band and close mate of joes. He was asked to play himself in film but was relunctant to do it at the start.

  • just a fan from what I read, but he got suckered into using his name for that lame character.

  • F pointed eared Woody

  • don't take the mick out of his ears...its not his fault theyre all point nd cute :)

  • From the movie Rude Boy, 1978, starring Ray Gange & the Clash.....RIP DADDY

  • RudeBoy ahah

  • τα σέβη μας...

  • αδερφια ...

    ΤΕΛΕΙΟΣ

  • AΠΛΑ ΘΕΟΣ! ! ! ! !

  • any chance of an mp3 of "No Reason"? or link to the mp3 or anything, cos its brilliant. RIP Joe

  • the first song is called "No Reason" !

  • Great clip! Five stars -- only because they won't let you give 50.

  • I'm with ya man :)

  • Does someone know the name of the first song ?

  • the second song is "Let the good times roll" by Shirley and lee. an absolute classic!

  • wheres this taking from

  • this is a scene from "Rude Boy", of course an awesome flick from 1980. Look it up on imdb

  • Which songs is he playing? Or are they his own?

  • I was shocked to see Joe rockin' on the piano with a particular tune harkening back to the early days and roots of rock n roll way before the Beatles. My intellectual curiousity about this video (which I purchased) TPRM enlightened me about what happened then in the late 1970s which I was totally obvlivious to *being a preteen* I knew only a little about the Clash....this video educated me more and I've been acquiring and learning from since then onwards....

  • I purchased The Punk Rock Movie video in 1994 in San Francisco. That really opened my eyes. So many bands I never heard of and other band just barely familiar with such as a very young Billy Idol singing very unfamiliar songs or John Lydon, as a matter of fact, seeing that video was the first time for me to see the Sex Pistols and hear ANY songs and performance and in their context of the times....

  • U.S. Bombs did a cover of this song on The World album

  • they called it "Joe's Tune" which probably doesn't answer your question...

  • any one know the name of the first song?

  • English teeth! RIP Joe.

  • so i guess theres no lyrics i can snag?? ....damn...

  • whats the name of the first song he plays?

  • he wrote that for Rude Boy i believe. i remember hearing something about it on the Rude Boy dvd.

  • doesanybody kno wat this song is called offically and who it was orginally by???

  • Shirley Goodman and Leonard Lee made the original and I think it's called Let the good times roll

  • cheers mate

  • this is my favorite scene in rude boy. thank you so much for sharing it. whenever i remeber joe strummer, i think of him singing that last song & smile. rip joe strummer.

  • Look at how happy he looks when he plays the second tune

  • oh me god, thank you whoever uploaded this :)

  • hey mustafa, have a little respect for the only band that matters. Sorry, just needed to remind you.

  • LucyStag, I could'nt agree more. Just that voice-- say, a nice, piano only version of Bankrobber would let me die a happy girl.

StaleFudgeCakes-- Close to perfect they were. :)

    Here's to you, Joe! :)

  • Genious. Joe Stummer was amazing.

MustafaHamsho stfu. He was severely talented and so many have seen that. So what if the Clash didn't top music charts everywhere? It doesn't mean a thing. The Clash... well they are so incredible it often sends shivers down my spine. They come quite close to being perfect music wise. At least in my opinion. R.I.P. Joe.

  • This makes me wish that he had recorded some really sparce stuff. Just that voice...all you need.

  • RIP Joe.. thanks you changed all our lives

  • Joe the Killer!"C'mon babe rock me all night long!"

I love him so much.Joe my mate Let The Good Times Roll!! Thanks for posting.

  • MustafaHamsho can drop dead asshole long live JOE Strummer

  • now you must die

  • Sod off. You clearly the kind of person who thinks that if you're not topping the charts, you must be untalented. Have fun with your boring music, then.

  • Are you fucking kidding me?

Streetcore was among his best works ever, comparable to his best work with The Clash.

  • we still miss you joe. R.I.P.

    i love this video.

    <3

  • Oh man.

God I love him so much. AH.

    12.22.02 Rest in Peace Joe

  • Plays the piano like he strummed the guitar...like firing a machine gun. BAM!BAM!BAM!BAM!BAM!

  • so beautiful, one of my favorite parts of Rude Boy.

  • joe dead at 50, just not right

  • Before my time but those lyrics are true. He really did love music. I didn't know he could play the piano. I can't understand how someone like Joe Strummer can push up daisies and people like Mick Jagger AND Kieth KEEF RICHARDS with his drug addict ass be the ones still alive?

  • what a stupid thing to say ya twit.

  • And yours is any better, clarence99? You twerp.

  • By the way the answer to the previous person's question is yes this is from Rude Boy. Alas the scenes in which I appeared ended up on the cutting room floor.

  • I could never say anything bad about Joe Strummer. I knew him personally - a little. Loved the man.

  • Wow this is cool. Is it from Rude Boy?

  • his smile makes me happy

  • HA niiiiiicceee :)
