This car is definitely a step in the right direction in terms of the exterior design. personally I think the messed up the 09 model horribly with the redesign. As an owner of an 07, I have not met one person that doesnt like the way that car is designed, while most people hate the new design. I really dont think that acura is quite there as a direct competitor to their German counterparts, with a little more effort and redesign, the could come close quickly

See i likED this car. But i just don't think Acura TL is setting its position right. As a Premium sedan, no wood trim? Such a poor resolution GPS? And I can just go on and on. At least Lexus got the premium feel right, although it still lags behind its german foes. Sportness? A red push start button does not make this car a sport sedan. It has an extremely heavy nose, understeer alot. oh man, i loved this car, but idk why, what is happening to it?

Acura TL gives more value for the dollar. That is why I say the TL competes quite well with the German luxury group. As previously stated, only two cars could pull me out of my TL: Audi S5 or BMW M3, not an Infiniti. I remain curious and confident that the 2014 redesign will be even stronger and more competitive.

@Markley92 I think any other luxury car could pull anyone out of an Acura, those who own one wont admit it but Acura has always been the underdog in the market, they might make a reliable product but they make the ugliest most distasteful looking cars on the market, if your shopping for an Acura your neither a sports car enthusiast or a design seeker, Acura is just a affordable luxury.... its a good value, is all it is. It has no charisma let alone any sport oriented background

@Johncarson9113 I certainly agree with you. The Infiniti G37 is certainly the Japanese alternative to BMW. Hell nowadays Infiniti is beating BMW at it's own game with the new M sedan (which reviewers have stated offers more confidence in the "bends" due to better steering feel) and is giving Audi (one of my favorite brands) a run for their money with their fantastic interior designs (especially with the new M and Qx)

Johncarson, my point is that for all that ultra performance, you have to pay 20-30k more....it is not just Bluetooth & navigation (nice try)....Sure, an 80k BMW M3 (or Audi A5/S5) is a different class of a car than the TL, but that is an unfair comparison. No way a BMW 328 (or Audi A4) is better than the TL, when it is more expensive, has less horsepower, and you have to spend 60k to get the same features as the TL. A 335 BMW, again, you have to spend 60k plus, to make it worthwhile. I went t

If your looking for a Japanese alternative to a BMW then look no further then a G37 sedan which composes a class leading 328 HP engine not to mention it is way above the Acura is terms of prestige, Luxury, performance and technology. Sure Acura will give you more value for the dollar but you cant compare it to a Lexus or Infiniti in this segment

The TL competes with the German cars because for 40-45k, you get what 65k and up buys you with a comparable Audi or BMW. I love watching people driving Audi A4s or BMW 3 series, with no navigation or blue tooth capability, because it was too expensive to upgrade....the TL competes and it does it quite well. I am speaking as an owner.

If your perception of ultra luxury is a vehicle with bluetooth technology and a Navigation system then the TL might as well rival the Toyota Camry. Acura doesnt come anywhere near the performance or overall driving dynamics of a BMW let alone the refinement of a Mercedes and design quality of an Audi. Acura is the underdog in the luxury market. Both Infiniti & Lexus have been the main alternatives to german luxury.

I test drove the SH-AWD Tech TL yesterday and that car has guts! I floored it on the highway and it picked up really fast with no hesitation. The rear camera is fantastic especially since I always back in to parking spots. I was looking into the TSX (still an excellent car) but fell in love with the TL. Excellent job Acura! Great review!

Just bought the 2012 tl tech, crystal black it everything the video says and more, the six speed trans. very smooth and very quick 0 to 60. the surround system sounds like a home system using the dvd audio disks, very nice car

Acura TL, i believe is the best luxury bargain in the US. Now that they've downplayed that front beak, and made the automatic 6 speed instead of five, it's an even better bargain now.

Nice video, but...... he didn't mention some of the best features - i.e., the sport mode - completely changes the transmission, paddle shifters (in either drive or sport mode), keyless entry/start up, or what the technology actually does. Get over the grill - if you own one, (I have all black 2011) - it is way too cool. This video should have more style/intrigue - like they did for the Range Rover....

Finally Acura Fixed the Front by redesigning the front end & got rid of that Hideous grill from last years model. The 6 Speed Auto now offered was so needed. This is a first for me to say about any Acura model, & its that I truly like this TL.
